@@JenovaGirzz This is a fair take, but it was already a solid rogue deck with YCS tops. And Konami just gave it Poplar and Diabelstar at the same time.
To explain the reason as to why you're playing this being a neg -1 in sharks. A) it finds and fulfills the conditions for Big Jaw B) it returns a drawn xyz armor card from hand to deck. C) it also serve as an extender post nibiru or ash. D) it esentialy is a 2 card combo for the same board. Activate the spell- add Big jaws- Special Big Jaws- add Drake. Drake specials. Make bahamout. (Eff) toad? Go up to xyz armor fortress Add both 2 xyz armor cards. Set the trap Cards left in hand 4. All without normal sumon or extenders drawn that the deck runs. Some other lines involve The second 1 card starter chainsaw shark. Playing a 101 is something some players already do for removal of flamberge, or bait negates.
It really is unfortunate how Gimmick Puppet plays in the spirit of how they were used in the anime very well (as a gimmicky FTK Deck) because while the Deck does have grindgame potential, it's much better used for killing your opponent in a single turn either Going First or Blind Second. New card helps a lot with the new style for that reason; now as long as you can put a Gimmick Puppet into your GY by any means, you can use Killer Knight as your dedicated Chimera Doll enabler and it's just another extender your opponent will be forced to play around
@@bobby45825 honestly I feel GP is reliable but it seems to have a low ceiling going 1st with it’s locks and going 2nd it doesn’t seem overwhelmingly powerful as other decks unless the field spell resolves, there’s only 2 really good monsters (bloody doll/fiendish knight) to foolish now (terror baby and bisq are good sends to protect your plays ofc but they don’t directly break an opponent’s board or build yours)
@@txkyoaes5743 Let's hope Konami sees it the same way you do. There will be bitching up to the sky when people are getting FTK'd by this beautiful archetype and I want to build it in MD.
We gotta stop fear mongering FTKs. It's hyping up decks in a way that'll slow down research on them because people will be focused on trying to make FTKs with it intead of exploring possibilities. Its something similar to how OCG ignored the Runicks because they were hardwired in using it as the mill/stun deck.
true gimmick puppet currently in ocg is insane,, unless u run either double imperm, or ogre+other hand trap to stop ur opponent, but if no hand trap as a starting hand yep you just watched ur self got ftk
Puppets are a normal deck if you ban argent chaos force, every single relevant line for ftk requires ranking up 3 times, and you only get a recycle from fantasix and argent's own effect, without argent you only get to rank up twice There are lines that ftk with only 2 rank ups (mansion + fiendish knight for example ranks up only twice), but: -they all need multiple specific cards, you cant 1 card ftk with only 2 rank up activations -they require you to play a leo package in the extra deck, which means cutting one of your important 2 of puppets like grinder for example So yea theres no need to ever touch a gimmick puppet card if the ftk is at any point an issue, we can just ban argent chaos force again
Magical Musketeers was really bad before the Fiendsmith package come out you'll never convince people who know the pain of not having them or only having 1 of them that they are bad for the game. Those days are over and now that luck isn't everything skill and good deck building reign Supreme. People who have played many TCGs is that if the skill component and good deck building isn't more important than the luck component then a game may be fun but its still technically bad. You want to see luck component to be more important in games like Poker and UNO. But you don't want it to be that important in Yugioh, Cardfight Vanguard, or Pokémon and having that way is unhealthy game design. Just Because we may have a tier 0 format here and there it doesn't change this. Yugioh is heading in a good direction and I commend Konami for heading this direction despite the great displeasure of few people in the Yugioh fanbase. Not letting people play the game because they over tuned to a toxic degree is another form toxicity in itself and has to be balanced by 1 card combos. Oh Max is toxic resolves I'll stop it with 1 hand trap just because I can. This is why 1 card combos need to exist. Its so people never have to live time like that or ever again. There will be a day when almost every rouge, tier 2, tier 1.5, and tier 1 deck and a day will come when the tier 3 category barely exists outside of unused normal monsters. When Nibiru gets banned for being unhealthy and keeping decks like pure White Woods, Sharks, and Swordsoul from being considered good decks like White Woods, Sharks, and pure Predaplants will be considered tier 1 again and with the need for negates decreasing the value of unique decks like pure White Woods that don't have any negates will increase. If interruptions are mandatory and negates aren't mandatory the game will get even healthier over time. Believing in skill and deck building rather than over-tuned answers to combo decks like Nibiru is the answer.
@@phoenix5095 that’s my point, they used to be everywhere until Konami decided to try something new like with tenpai and gimmick puppets which should be good but the people actually crying about these decks won’t give them the time of day

But I cut this one a little more slack because I have a soft spot for Puppets and because they just need to ban Argent Chaos Force (again) and they can't do the FTKs outside of hyper specific hands. I have a random as question, why is no one playing decks with 37 cards + 3 Upstart Goblin. It would just make the deck more consistent or i am just stupid ?
Generally the idea is that in most hands, you'd rather the blank card be a handtrap, board breaker, or other defensive card. Upstart is strong going first but going 2nd is meh.
Well if this scares you imagine if you see one of MY decks Mr Joshua I am dying for the day I duel you and show you how a real World Champion is like... >:)
Seventh Tachyon going -1 was so unnecessary. It already locks, it already has a restricted pool of options to look for. Why did you need to be a -1 on top of that?
@e-tan3911 the problem is, it's not busted. It's likely not going to see play at all due to how few decks can even make use of it. Making it card neutral would hardly help it, but at least the decks that do use it wouldn't feel bad when using it. At the end of the day this is just a consistency card. All it does is help you play more often. It does nothing to impact how powerful the deck is.
"Restricted group of options". "Why did it make you put a card back". 1. It's a barian card and it gets every starter for every barian deck we have. That's not restricted, that's you wanting too much. Not to mention we already see people trying to splash it as an engine in decks with EDs that aren't tight to search their starters. Why? Because the range is way bigger than you think it is. 2. It places a card back because again it's a Barian card. It's meant to put a dead drawn Seventh One (or Chaos Draw) on top of the deck. People are already theorizing running 3 Ascension + 3 Tachyon and then adding 1 Seventh One post siding as an easy way to break boards. This is exactly why people were saying y'all need to learn context on cards before just blasting them. P.S. It's to be used in Barian decks and is a staple in such. Nobody cares if some random tier 1 deck can use it or not
@@BlackBeartic229 It's a little presumptuous to assume I don't know exactly how many targets there are to search with this card. Do you know what "restricted" means? I'll give you a hint: it does NOT mean too little options. And besides, I did not imply you want to use this in a tier 1 strategy. As Josh himself already put it, if you're that desperate for a starter, your deck is already probably not good to begin with. And if you do want to run a pure XYZ deck that wants to play numbers 101-107 as their aces, this card still is unnecessarily going -1. Matter of fact is, Barian cards are bad, so bad in fact they made cards to circumvent the entire gimmick of those cards so you don't need to hard draw them. You're better off not running Barian cards in your No. 101-107 decks. Tachyon itself might be kind of decent on its own after Duelists of Brilliance, without Barian cards. And might even kind of want to run this card (tho I believe that's unecessary). In any case, you'd rather keep your 5 cards in hand after searching for your starter than putting something back.

@@e-tan3911 Maybe your right and my thought process was wrong. Unlike White Woods Sharks can't make xyz as effectively as White Woods can on your opponents turn and I think I thought to hard and came up with nonsense. Maybe if they got their own version of Garunix Eternity it would be better. It could be a one sided monster wipe that gives you value if it leaves the field. I'm sorry the things I say are usually more intelligent.
its almost as if nib is a problem card
@@jacobwoodard818 Isn't White Woods a synchro archetype?
@@reservationatdorsias3215 I know there has been issues in the past that prove that it is. The new shark support and Diabelle needing 5 summons in pure White Woods proves it. Swordsoul proved it even when Baronne was still around and because they had to use Baronne on Nibiru it often times meant that they would lose. Now that Baronne and Borreload Savage are gone Nibiru needs banned. It limits game design and for it to be a easy OTK all it needs is to be used in a deck like Branded or Kashtira. They can give Nibiru the Multchummy Perulea treatment. Make it so that you can't use other hand traps the turn you want to use Nibiru kind of like Branded Fusion or instead of summoning 1 massive token they have to give you tokens equal to the monsters you lose in defense position only.
Gimmick puppets have gotten tops in ocg lol. People are just seeing the ftk side of it keep sleeping on them can play both 1st and 2nd plus ftk 1 out of 7 or 8 times lol

Hey Josh, I was one of the people from the first Shark video. Just wanted to express that my comment was not made in bad faith - if you think the cards were bad, I completely understand. The intention of my comment was to highlight how I adore your insight and how I appreciate the long form analysis on new cards like I’ve seen you done in the past, ie looking at the backlog of cards while reviewing the new ones. Thank you for the great content and I hope my comment didnt get to you, if it were one of the ones you were referring to.
Based individual of good faith
People don't like my bad deck either
Yeah with the new support, shark is definitely a solid rogue deck
Agree
But I'll give him my dislike anyways. He has to know that not everyone is agree whit him, and that's normal
That's not having bad faith my man, specially when he is joking around
@@JenovaGirzz This is a fair take, but it was already a solid rogue deck with YCS tops. And Konami just gave it Poplar and Diabelstar at the same time.
To explain the reason as to why you're playing this being a neg -1 in sharks.
A) it finds and fulfills the conditions for Big Jaw
B) it returns a drawn xyz armor card from hand to deck.
C) it also serve as an extender post nibiru or ash.
D) it esentialy is a 2 card combo for the same board.
Activate the spell- add Big jaws-
Special Big Jaws- add Drake.
Drake specials.
Make bahamout. (Eff) toad?
Go up to xyz armor fortress
Add both 2 xyz armor cards.
Set the trap
Cards left in hand 4. All without normal sumon or extenders drawn that the deck runs.
Some other lines involve
The second 1 card starter chainsaw shark.
They have an in-archetype foolish burial that can get really bonkers going second, depending on the board state.

I mean runick went full circle, depends on the meta. Now stun is the best way to play it
@@gigadon120But not the fun way. But I mean Baronne dying did kinda kill synchro variants so yeah

It's so open ended and he was like "nah, it's shit".
This video shows me u never watched Zexal right
true gimmick puppet currently in ocg is insane,, unless u run either double imperm, or ogre+other hand trap to stop ur opponent, but if no hand trap as a starting hand yep you just watched ur self got ftk
That first Shark Card is just a Plant monster. I never said a good one, but it acts like a Plant.
Seventh Tachyon can search for exodia parts, you know what time it is Yugiboomers
If only it weren't for that ever dreadful once per turn.
Today I learned about Runick Sharks.
Puppets are a normal deck if you ban argent chaos force, every single relevant line for ftk requires ranking up 3 times, and you only get a recycle from fantasix and argent's own effect, without argent you only get to rank up twice
There are lines that ftk with only 2 rank ups (mansion + fiendish knight for example ranks up only twice), but:
-they all need multiple specific cards, you cant 1 card ftk with only 2 rank up activations
-they require you to play a leo package in the extra deck, which means cutting one of your important 2 of puppets like grinder for example
So yea theres no need to ever touch a gimmick puppet card if the ftk is at any point an issue, we can just ban argent chaos force again
12:11 IIRC that enables a one-card FTK with 1 garnet in main
FTKs are by far the most toxic part of Yugioh and Konami should never enable it.
As a posed to an 8 negate board with a floodgate
What deck is putting up 8 negates? Asking so i can play it :)
Jk theres none anymore stop crying
@@phoenix5095 that’s my point, they used to be everywhere until Konami decided to try something new like with tenpai and gimmick puppets which should be good but the people actually crying about these decks won’t give them the time of day
@@toastmynameistoast7217Bro. A deck doesn't get brownie points for being unique if it's designed like shit.
Tenpai is designed like shit lmao. If you think otherwise I don't know what to tell you.
GP getting tools for the FTK is not a good thing. But I cut this one a little more slack because I have a soft spot for Puppets and because they just need to ban Argent Chaos Force (again) and they can't do the FTKs outside of hyper specific hands.
We should be pushing for unique AND healthy. Not just settling for unhealthy shit just cuz it's new
@@BlackBeartic229 ok what classifies as bad design cause healthy for this game is pretty much out the window and Gimmick puppets were always burn they were just really bad at it
16 minutes for 4 cards, damn new record
the council of sharks is sated
Because the card's search pool is so wide that it needed something to make it less busted.
Maybe it was intended to return garnets into the deck as some XYZ decks play them, like "Double or nothing " or "XYZ Armor".
In any case, you'd rather keep your 5 cards in hand after searching for your starter than putting something back.
yeah anime rogue deck fanboys are CRAZYYYYYYYYYY. If you insult one shark card or fluffal card, they will harass you. I had some guy on twitter spam dms on me for a month because I said D/D/D sucks.
I'm not going to say you're wrong but Josh really was pretty misinformed with the shark cards.
Cutter Shark is practically the only shark card he got right. It actually sucks
