So appreciative of VoicePlay for introducing me to music I would not have heard otherwise. Thanks, Cole, for reacting to this video.

Back to the days of MTV. '80s & '90s. My kids had it on all the time. Geoff has a new video. You Don't Mess Around With Jim. A Jim Croce cover.

I never heard this or of this before Voiceplay did it. I'm too old to have caught the grunge/alternative era of music. I did see that Steve Lawrence and Edie Gorrme did a version of this, I listened to it just for contrast.
It doesn't matter that Voiceplay is doing things completely foreign to me, I love it all. The outro on this in particular was great, it was the karaoke track they create for patrons. Only the harmonies and beatboxing.
    Great reaction, Cole!

Yes Eli/Layne said it is a Cyberpunk version (so futuristic) - the original video is so damn creepy I feel it killed the song for some 😉. So a new audience will now find the song. Geoff loves Chris Cornell voice - so I am sure he was happy that the guys wanted to do some Soundgarden! 🌹🕊

You said you were going to guess who arranged this one and I confess I giggled cause I knew it was so very unlikely you would guess Eli. Sure Layne helped, but Eli was lead if the rest of the credits are anything to go by. I love thay Eli is flexing his arranging abilities.

Interesting.... I was big into alternative music from the '80s on and SoundGarden really didn't 'grab' me. I loved the idea of Grunge with getting back to garage rock, but perhaps did not feel it as needed as others because I wasn't really listening to mainstream rock in the '80s. I was not listening to Journey and Air Supply, but instead to the Clash and the Cure, plus a lot of punk. To me Grunge was a bit soft still. Now I was extremely fortunate to live in the Washington DC area at the time, where we had a phenomenal alternative rock radio station. Something most of the country had to do without. I'm sure that made a difference. I wasn't even listening all that much to MTV because I had WHFS.
And, to be fair, they did play SoundGarden, but I think I was more into Everclear and the Offspring. I 'felt' their songs more. For me, the best part of this song (in the original) was the buzzy, distorted instrumental part, and I think VP managed to give us the impression of it here, so I'm exceptionally happy with the cover. Especially since I highly prefer the emotional kick I get from Eli on this.

I had never heard this song before VoicePlay did it. I looked at the original from Soundgarden, and thought it was very strange and creepy. I much prefer this version. The other song is Sleeping in the Cold Below from the game WarFrame.
