This was released during the first year of Covid as a fund raiser for out of work musicians. They reached out to a lot of people that they have collaborated with in the past and many of them they met through the Sing Off. Others they met through their various contacts through Disney and Universal Studios. A few others (Scott Porter, Mykal Kilgore and Tony Wakim) were prior members. The young man Anthony Gargiula they had not collaborated with until relatively recently, but his family and Eli Jacobson‘s family are friends so has been known to them for sometime. (He has since worked with them in Golden Hour, Seven Nation Army, Black Hole Sun, and several minis.) VoicePlay has been singing professionally since graduating high school around 1997. They issued their first album (Time Machine ) under the group name 4:2:Five in 2004. Huldra Draco has a great video about the progress of VoicePlay back from the early early days. She has a special reactor safe playlist as well with no spoilers.
It was said once that if Geoff , Tim, and Avi sang together that the universe would probably crack open, and unicorns would be released. I'd be willing to chance it.🦄🦋
I think that with all their ranges and instruments it would be epic beyond belief. I’ve already decided that if I ever win the lottery, that album is happening. 😁 In addition to a companion album with Layne, Adam, and Kevin.
If we're going to do a bass battle (Avi, Tim, Geoff, Chance) we have to include Peter, Tomi, Bobby, and Marwan. Especially Marwan. That baby boy's got it!
The Sing-Off season 4 was in 2013. It generated some lasting friendships, and awesome collaborations thru the years. VoicePlay has been around since 1997 (you do the math), originally named 4:2:five, as they had between 4 & 5 members; they changed the name to VP not too long before the Sing-Off (year or so). Scott Porter was the beatboxer back then, and left in 2003 to pursue his successful acting career. The high voice at the end is Elizabeth Garozzo, in the middle of the screen. She was with VP in their "In the Hall of the Mountain King" vid, and collaborated w/them in some others, but just in the background. Her voice is amazing! This video is from 2020, towards the beginning of the pandemic. By then, Anthony had not collab with them yet. But their dream came true this last year, with several Anthony appearances. I love this one so much! I listen to it often 💯
I'm so glad you stopped regularly so that everything can be read. It's one of my favorites and I love the cool things VoicePlay does, like the musician aid, Camp A Capella (kid camp) - Don't Stop Believin' (Journey), the props and costuming that are auctioned off with the proceeds going to kids who otherwise wouldn't have a Christmas.
What amazed me was the number of talented people who were willing to come together when they received Voiceplay's invitation to do the fund raiser. Also, that two of their founding members went on to careers on Broadway and in Hollywood. Scott Porter was their original beatboxer and was wearing a shirt from when they were still called 4:2:Five. They were not all from the SingOff.
I was really steamrolled, when I saw the video for the first time and learned that Scott Porter was a VP/4:2:Five member back in the times. I know him from "Friday Night Lights", a TV Show that is mostly unrecognized here by the German public (because of the main subject "High School Football", that we sadly don't have any relation to in our country).
@@MtheHell Watch VoicePlay Halo video; at the end is a touching comment by Scott, and also some old pics from their early days, they were all adorable! 😍
This is during the 2020 lockdown. The little girl is Geoff Castellucci niece. Deep dive on all VoicePlay members past and present on Huldra Dracos channel. VoicePlay has been around 25/26 years. Geoff and Tims matching grey streaks in their hair.
It was made during quarantine. Emoni Wilkins was in the group Ten. Yes, she did do Wicked. Tony Wakim and Honey Larochelle were members of Voiceplay on The Sing Off. The Sing Off was in 2013. Yes, Filharmonics are from the Philippines. The language is Tagala. Austin also dang in the Voices of Liberty too. I enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
So, JNone was a post-Sing Off member of the group. The _original_ group from when they started posting on UA-cam was Eli, Layne, Geoff, Earl, and Tony. Tony left the group as a singer in order to start Pattycake Productions with Layne, which is the production studio that VoicePlay works with. Pattycake also has other things that it produces, independent of VoicePlay, and those could be fun to look into, as well. But yeah, they had this song in the movie Trolls 2, and in that one, it had that same kind of "everyone come together and just have fun with music" energy. It was great. This was a breath of fresh air we needed back in 2020, and it was... honestly, a beautiful final video for Earl to be a part of.
VoicePlay has had a _lot_ of members as well as a ton of great collaborators over the years. (ETA: Scott Porter has also appeared on the show Lucifer.) This video came out four years ago, during the Covid shutdown. A group of fans put together a tribute video based on the karaoke track for this cover as a gift for the guys a year ago yesterday - Sing It Together by VoicePlayProject. Check it out!
It's so interesting to see some of the history up to the time of the pandemic and lockdown. That was Emoni, with the gap in her teeth. She talks about it in VP's video I Love Me.
Not for reacting to but if you want a bit of history of the Voiceplay band Layne, Geoff and Kathy (Geoff’s wife) did an interview with their old high school alumni on the set of their most recent video (soundgardens- blackhole sun 🤯😍 incredible version highly recommend) and it explains a bit of background of who was who back at the start and also just a really fascinating interview in general with talk about techniques etc. [youtube search: legends of lake Howell ft Voiceplay.]
15:08 pretty sure it was Mykel Kilgore (top left above Rachel Potter) his high notes are insanely good! Edit I should have waited ten seconds til you saw it haha🤦🏻♀️
Really enjoyed this reaction - thank you. Such a fun song with so many cool people! I don’t think it’s been suggested elsewhere, but several of VoicePlay’s Patreon followers got together and recreated this video for its third anniversary last year. It’s a lot of fun! Check out “Sing It Together” by The VoicePlay Project
Adriana sang in Spanish, VJ sang in Tagalog. his lyrics are "wag mong pigilan at labanan, parinig ng tinig mo" (copied from a comment on the original video)

It would probably, look Iike the scene in Encanto when Louisa is singing Surface Pressure and floating in the clouds with the donkeycorns. Lol.

I'd say 50-50 on unicorns or dragons
@@Drake844221 probably both
The Sing Off produced a lot of friendships, which transcends competition. It's great to see all of these magnificent performers together.

This from almost exactly 4 years ago. This was done during the beginning of COVID.

Scott porter also is a pretty famous actor now. Played a roll in the series Lucifer
This video shows just how respected and loved they are in the music community and they are just really good people

The member you could remember is Earl who left.
Thanks for stopping and giving everyone a chance to figure everyone out. You're the first reactor I've heard who did this.

Was it Earl's last video with Voice Play?
Never tire of this one.

I’m pretty positive Scott Porter is the Gumball on The Masked Singer right now 😅
This was recorded during the Covid pandemic.

Scott Porter recorder Halo Theme
Awesome reaction, Yuri...thank you!🥰 Such a talented cast of people.
The lady in middle (Garozzo) sang that high note.
the high notes are actually Liz doing the first, then Mykal, then Emoni.
Did you catch Scott's vocals? Holy schneike!
The high belt at the end was Eli, I think. He did that High in other songs so I know he can hit it.
15:08 pretty sure it was Mykel Kilgore (top left above Rachel Potter) his high notes are insanely good!

Thank you...did not know that.😊
He's singing Spanish, but the language you're looking for is Tagalog.
Nah, he's definitely singing Tagalog lol
The language you were trying to think of was Tagalog.
Eli did the belt
This was during covid
Tim’s hair is long. He cut it right after the pandemic was over. This was done during covid. No one is in the same place.
Before the hair cut but after putting away the hair dye.
March, April or May - this is always an amazing and beautiful invitation to - Just Sing 🎶

You should listen ti Dan Vasc. You don’t need anyone else.
