Show @exploringtheforeign some love!
#Exploringtheforeign #reaction #dutch
sir, i am a Dutch dairyfarmer myself. If you ever come to the Netherlands, I would be happy to give you a dutch-dairyfarmer-day experience. It would probebly become a very fun day 🤣
I would definitely take you up on that Rick! Would make for a very fun and dirty video. Not afraid to get my city boy hands dirty. I was raised in the south after all! Appreciate you extending the offer!
Would be great Rick! And then a complete productchain series, starting with Milk to butter, cheese etc. Product tasting🤤 Highly take at least a month off haha
@@rudyloedeman5730would seriously be very good to tell the story from the farmers perspective..anti-farmer content enough in the world😢
What a great invite Rick!😂
Oh, en ik sta volledig achter onze boeren, zij zijn de backbone van ons land. 💜
the sad thing is tho the farmers work the hardest but only get like 20% of what we pay for it in the supermarket.
His positive curious attitude is always a delight! If he keeps going like this he'll be more dutch than I am :)) Farming now ... what's next!
Dairy farming teaches you patience , compassion and the importance of doing your job to the best of your abilty . Calving season is the most stressfull time of the year for dairy farmers . We have world class farms and stock in New Zealand as well , two of the top countrys in the world across the board
We buy our foods straight from the farmer Highly, love to go to the farms, the air smells so fresh, love it❤❤❤
I really enjoyed this video and your reaction. I'm a farmers son, my brother took over the business but i got an office job in the city and on a daily basis have to explain to my coworkers the importance of our farmers. It is tiring and frustrating at times. Everyone, even vegans ( who grows the veggies you think?😂) needs farmers , and A real farmer will never mistreat his animals or use too much pesticide coz he needs his soil and water to stay healthy. Environmentalists should actually be on their side.
The pressure they are under to stay affloat is crazy, mainly due to ever changing regulations and a gvmt that cant make up its mind. At one point they needed bigger more efficient farms, so we invested, before you can get a return they change their mind and want smaller farms with less animals, same for emissions, now cattle emits too much methane, well ok we'll invest and capture that methane and use it for heating or sth, but for fxxxs sake give us some time to get a return before they change it again...etc..... and this is just one small part. It's a hard life, one i was lucky to experience, but i dont regret getting a 9 to 5 instead. I dont have the stamina or mental strenght for it. But i have Mad respect for my brother and all other farmers worldwide. Sorry for the rant, had to get it out. 😂. ✌️❤️
Well said.
I pretty much feel the same, I don't regret not becoming a farmer with all the pressure and negativity coming from the government and society.
But I feel privileged growing up on our Dutch country side, one big playground surrounding the farm with its animals, cats and dogs.
Much more closer and in touch with the surrounding nature.
And I do miss that here living in a row house, the variety of birds, butterflies and other wildlife you don't see in towns.
7 days a week, healthy and sick, there is no stopping, they animals count on you too.
I love Sam's videos, he is a really nice guy...
thank you sooo much for your fantastic reaction!! I have farmers in my family and farmers are not appreciated in The Netherlands right now. The suicide rate is high under farmers...so they really need this support!!
No farmers = No food PERIOD
Without food NOTHING happens.
Hey just to let you know. Part 4 of the making of Dance Magabre is online .
And this is just a dairy farm, now think about all other farming that happens in the Netherlands. Dutch farmers are heroes!
Good tip: If you see a Dutch farmer driving towards you in his tractor and you see the road is rather narrow, just stop and give them the space they need. They really appreciate it and it also stops the side of the roads from being destroyed with deep tractor tracks which makes it saver for other road users!
Great to see hard working farmers they are the backbone of society, anywhere in the world, they deserve our respect.👍👍👍🐄🐄🐄 Greetings from the Netherlands!!!
My heritage lies also in the farming industry. My grandfather was raised on a farm. But I’m a real city kind of guy. So the farming life is just a very different kind of life for me. But I sure do appreciate them!
this is so beautiful ❤️❤️
last farm I went too the cows had too milk themselves using machines that gave them a treat if they did, and no treat if they already did, because they kept going into the machine
Dutch farming is the real deal😎💪
The only ingredients you need for a good bread is flour, yeast, salt and water. And you got a better bread than American bread with 50 ingredients xD
if you look at how cows are treated in the netherlands, you can see why i am not a vegetarian.
They have a descent life, before i get the meat / milk / cheese.
comment on the work that goes in to farming: Meat prices are up, milk prices are up. Its a lifestyle, because the extra money aint going to the farmers. I am fucking pissed about it
If you want to know something about the difference in farming between the netherlands and the US, please read something about animal regulations. They US has way fewer regulasions on both food safety and animal rights. I think in the netherlands, farms are overregulated, and people see animals as humans more than reasonable, but the US has way too few rules. For instance: there is not even a legal minimum area per animal. There are chemicals in US bread that are ilegal in the EU even for yoga mats because they increase the risk of cancer.
This is one of the reasons TTIP failed. (As it should have.)
The big question i have, How does a farmer go on vacation for 10 days? Does he hire someone to feed the animals? Or does he take them with him :)
3:14 Modern Dutch clogs... 😂
In the Netherlands, cows are no longer out in the meadow for milk production, no, these cows are in large stables 24/7. The food is on the land instead of the cow itself. Why? The weather affects the quality of the milk, including the quality of the cheese. And for the enormous milk production, this is more beneficial for the farmer and consumer. Just not for the cow. The farmers claim that they do everything they can to make it pleasant for the cow in the stable, I would like to believe that is true, but I don't think the cow itself is happy about it. Partly because of this, the Netherlands is one of the world leaders in the agricultural sector.
Look at the label. Weidemelk -> cows in the meadow
Wat leuk 👍🏼🧡
Calfs need to be with mom.
Only they are American cows. Almost all cows here are of the Holstein-Friesian breed. Only a few hobby farmers still have real Dutch cows such as the Blaarkop and the Lakenvelder. Sad but true, Dutch cows are threatened with extinction.
Doesn't that milk belong to the calves ? Why don"t they make cheese etc from humans breastmilk?
As the campina advertisement claims that " boeren houden van hun koeien " , " farmers love their cows " is misleading and so untrue . Its animal cruelty pure
you've learned nothing from this video!! But you still have a chance. Go and visit the farmer yourself and ask the question. You will get the honoust answer and not some kind of anti farmer propaganda!
@@cynthiamolenaar770 did you ever see what they do to the calves? I guess not 😡
Conny, have you ever seen with your own eyes what they do with the calves?
@@marijkestanley6196 yes I did , and its animal cruelty pure. Humans must be so damn cold hearted to accept them cruel behavior.
@@connys5567 wat doen ze dan?
