      It’ll only get better. I am just getting my feet wet on this new format. I’m assuming that by 6 months from now it’ll be a lot more glitzy.

    This is one of the most versatile lights. With the mag base and articulating head, you a get any angle while on a ferris surface. The head is perfectly tightened to be not too loose or tight when moving the head. For EDC, it’s a bit long but workable.

    3:45 moot point. you can just ignore the rotary dial on the seeker 3 and 4 pro... if you hold the button down it cycles through i think 4 modes and double tap for turbo just like basically every other current flashlight in existence.

    • @cheule
      @cheule  6 місяців тому +2

      But why add the extra expense of a rotary, if it’s 3 mode - is what I was trying to say.

    I gotta say, for the money, it's really hard to beat Olight. They're constantly innovating, and there's a light there for anyone or anything. I like that they offer color temp options on some of their lights, I just wish that they'd increase the range of options in types of emmiters and types of lights. But that's a very small nitpick...considering that you could mod most of their lights if you're so inclined.

    Arkflex looks nice. They need to offer it at least in natural white, and preferably high CRI especially if they are aiming it towards mechanics, HVAC, and other similar trades who deal with wires of many colors.

    • @cheule
      @cheule  6 місяців тому

      I really wish they would offer high CRI versions, especially on the lights that aren’t easily moddable.

    • @nomercyinc6783
      @nomercyinc6783 6 місяців тому

      a streamlight stinger doesnt color wash wires. wiring doesnt need high cri light the way paint and body work guys do. mechanics dont really need high cri lights. mechanics and body shop technicians arent similiar

    New Setup looks awesome, like the new style.
    Im a huge fan of right angle lights, well, at least those that can be used as a headlamp too. Armytek and Zebralight for example. Those lights are just superb. I wouldn't have a use for the arkflex or seeker, i just feel like there are way better options out there. But hey, cant fault the quality and seems like they adjusted the pricing so that's good.
    I hate to bring up nitecore again but they just released the edc33, which is a very interesting light imo, might be worth looking at if you haven't seen it yet. 9 leds, 4000 lumens, 40k cd, 4000mah 18650, dual stage tail switch.

    I love the rotary dial on the mini Marauder and Seeker 4 Pro. Hard to go back... LOL. Love the USB-C though why not do both... Finding the right sized hotspot for what you use it for can be tricky. I'm happy with the flood of 4 Pro for walking the dogs, but when putting out at distance to see what animal is out there it fails.... I like setting to level 2, and then can either spin dial or double-click for turbo when needed. Then just double-click back to level 2. Wish there was an inexpensive flood and throw.

    • @cheule
      @cheule  6 місяців тому +1

      I do love a rotary interface. But for a three mode thrower, I can see why they didn’t include one.

    • @sloanNYC
      @sloanNYC 6 місяців тому

      @@cheule I agree. I think a long press for moonlight, and then low med high with double for turbo makes a ton of sense. I just don't understand why Seeker 4 mini and Pro are both floods but this one is throw... I thought the whole point was for the names to indicate purpose!

    Is the seeker 4 tail cap compatible on previous models? I’m curious if you could charge previous model seekers or if there’s extra magic going on in the internals!!
    Edit: the arkflex I would’ve liked a few things different like pocket clip reversed and flex able to point down when clipped to top side of ball cap brim. No matter what light I carry, it MUST be ball cap compatible because I often need both hands for what I’m doing! I would’ve preferred the button to stay in the middle like the arkfeld but I suppose I could get used to it (we’ll find out when it gets delivered!).

    I think the seeker 4 is a bit of a missed opportunity, similar torches from other manufacturers are hitting the 500m plus with sub 60,000 plus candela.

    • @mikeenslin3009
      @mikeenslin3009 6 місяців тому

      agree yeah. the seeker has always been kind of disappointing when it comes to the numbers. They are also priced super weirdly, a warrior is a much better buy, they at least have the tailswitch going for them

    • @Studat
      @Studat 6 місяців тому +1

      @@mikeenslin3009 totally agree, but again, I collect torches and have multiple warriors but put it up against my Nitecore P23i and you see just how underpowered it is. Still a huge Olight fan but the numbers just don't stack up to the competition. Just my opinion.

    • @cheule
      @cheule  6 місяців тому +1

      The fit and finish of the Seeker 4 is something many other manufacturers can’t match, so there’s that.

    • @mikeenslin3009

      @@cheule olight is definitely up there but I don't think nitecore or acebeam or armytek or weltool or Fenix are any worse.
      It's a tough market, you gotta do a little more as a company than just barely competetive performance and good fit and finish. But brand loyalty goes a long way, I'm sure they're gonna sell many of those... Especially now with the usb c
