    this amp is fuking loud, with very aggressive and dark tone. I put EQ in the loop and TS9 in the front, which pushes this amp very further in terms of tonal characteristic.
    Nice review mate ! \m/

    The MT15 PRS head is amazing! I love mine and the matching cabinet too! I own 2 PRS SE guitars and an Epiphone SG P90 Classic!

    I'm a thrash and groove metal type of player and love my MT15. It's a killer little amp within it's limitations of design. IMO, one of the best lunchbox type amps available. My example is a newer 5881 loaded model and I run it through an Avatar Contemporary 2x12 loaded with Hellatone 60's. It is voiced a little darker through the mids and high end. Very smooth, thick and substantial as you say. The bottom end is pretty damn impressive considering the lower power. Almost like the power amp has a fixed resonance circuit going on. It's really thumpy through my cab. And like everyone says, it's damn loud for 15 watts. Good job on the review. Your recorded tones are spot on what the MT15 sounds like.

    Thank you for the honest review and not using additional pedals

    I have this amp and I play in a very modern metal, Djenty kind of band, and you boost the presence mids and treble, and cut the gain a hair with a TS infront, it does that too. It's a really great amp, especially at the price it is

    Recently got a 08 model prs se Paul Allender model and it’s made me a believer in prs. Lead me to this amp which lead me to this video. Currently playing a 6505mh and I love it, but the clean in this one seems much more usable.

    I like the darker tone of the MT15. My favorite amp is the late 80's early 90's Carvin X100. It also has a darker tone.

    I ran a 32 band EQ into the effects loop and the blanket really comes off. Absolutely vicious amp.

      Oh yeah? I ran a 273 band EQ into that bad boy and it blew both blankets off.

    FWIW, the EVH 2x12 is loaded with G12H30’s (heritage 30’s), not the EVH Celestions like in the 4x12 (which are relabeled greenbacks).

    The MT 15 and a Dirty Tree are like peanut butter and jelly with drop tuned guitars.

    It's my main amp, presence us very important, but overall, it's one of few amps I like with all controls almost at noon

      I just got it like last week and still feel strange setting everything to noon but it does sounds incredible lol years of academy wasted on “dialing in” an amp

    Question how is the noise level of the amp and were you using noise gate ?

  • @stevenstrother672
    @stevenstrother672 Рік тому

    Why does everybody say that putting the eq at noon is neutral or flat? Unless it is an Active eq you are cutting half of all frequencies at noon. Passive eq can only subtract or cut frequency. Flat would actually be everything full on.

    what is this fizzy noise undearneath the sound especially in the recorded sample? blown speaker?

    Great video of this amp and based on the tones in the video the amp is not for me. I own the Mesa Badlander 25 and the Mesa Mini Recto 25 and those suit me better. MT15 is not a bad amp especial for the price! 750 vs 1500!!

    • @1459Studiosmpls

      Absolutely, tons of great of stuff out there. It's fun to find what we like as players and what suits us the best! Mesa makes wonderful stuff. The Badlander is fantastic!

    How does it compare to orange dark terror?

    • @1459Studiosmpls
      @1459Studiosmpls  7 місяців тому +2

      sound wise its kind of get the bite of a orange with the oofff of a boogie. It's a bit more articulate then an recitifer. but not as articulate as a 5150.
