The UA-cam AI put The Hoof GP on my feed, and I've been binge-watching Graeme for weeks. I went over and watched James' sculptures, which are amazing, and then I decided to come here and was not disappointed. My family has roots in Scotland. I have visited once but I would go again in a heartbeat. We went in November of 2010, my 15 yr old daughter who could be more melodramatic than any movie star, and me. We were in Stirling, stopped at Drover's Inn up there where Loch Lommond is a trickle, Ft. William, Malaig, Castle Tioram as the tide was rushing in, Skype, Ulapool, Inverness, yes with a nice stint staring at Loch Ness in hopes of seeing the monster, Granton-on-Spey where we ran into an Inn owner who was originally from our hometown in California USA (trippy experience), and then to Edinburgh, where my daughter's first words were, "this place looks like something out of Oliver!" (the musical version of Oliver Twist). We walked all over Edinburgh and were considerably less impressed with the castle because Stirling Castle made such a great impression. My now 26 year old daughter (time flies like you can't imagine-hug your kids often) is a history major, theater minor (shocker), and holds close the memories of our wild Scottish adventure, though at the time, she would dramatically mourne, "why did you draaaag me half way around the woooorld?!" (My response was always, "because I wanted to torture you). I greatly enjoy the way you share the Scottish history and inventions and such. Several times I have literally laughed out loud. Which is both good and bad. Laughter is like good medicine but I just had surgery a couple of weeks ago to remove 2 tumors (both benign, Thank the Lord!) and laughing disturbs the area of the incision and makes me very sore. This doesn't keep me from laughing. Thank you so much for sharing your Scotland Unplugged with the rest of us! DO MORE OF IT!!
I too learned of your channel from your brother, The Hoof GP. Charisma and sense of humor seems to run in the family. I love the way you tell the story as well as learning History that is sadly lacking in today's education. I look forward to watching more. I've subscribed so I don't miss any.
Another one sent by The Hoof GP, and I'm glad and the better for it! You've got a wonderful way of conveying your beautiful countries history in an intellectual and engaging way. Making content like this preserves the world around us, and grants us a greater understanding of who and what we are, and is a poorly undervalued public service. Cheers, and many thanks for doing it!
I've been watching your brother's channel for about a year that would be Hoof GP. I would be leaving him a thank you for putting me to your Channel. I am a history buff. I love Scotland and the old Royals. Never been there probably never will be but I enjoy listening to you tell the stories that I have long watched on TV. Put into a better, more interesting platform. I am looking forward to watching your Channel.
Your brother Graeme sent me over to listen to you and I'm so glad that he did. As he said, " You are brilliant" . I love anything and everything about Scotland and I read about it voraciously but hearing it from you made it so much more real to me. Please keep this series coming as it was wonderful! God Bless.....
Hi the hoof GP sent me and I most say I loved the history lesson on William Bruce especially since I'm Irish/Scottish as well as a few other races. Also several years ago my mothers, mother was telling me about our family and said we were actually related to him and although I have no evidence on the spider I was told an old family story/family legend about him and the box with his heart if you ever want to hear it.
I popped on over to your channel at the behest of your brother Graeme. Your family is truly talented, it was a joy watching this upload. I will continue to watch . Thank you very interesting, I love history.I’m from Ohio in the USA.
Your brother sent me along. A good listen for some history of Scotland. I remember hearing the tale of the Bruce and the spider. And of course many tales of Wm Wallace. I'll tune in for more.
I love hearing about the history of Scotland my mother in law was Scottish and moved to Kent England when she married my father in law but had all of her children baptised church of Scotland and she always used to tell all her grandbabies stories on the history of Scotland and honestly I find the Scottish accent the easiest to listen to fantastic video 👏 👏 👏 👏
I am of Scottish heritage have taken an DNA Test. To be honest one of many countries of heritage origins. I love your way of telling of history. Thank you.
Wonderful...where have you been!! I could listen to you all day young man. Post more please...never tire of listening to you and your lovely voice. Your very good at this young man...Thank you.👍👍👍👍👍
This is the 3rd Scottish channel I have subscribed to. The first was The Hoof GP then Craigie Boy. I love them all. Thank you for your passion and the amazing content gents!
I find the landscape of Scotland is breathtaking. And your story telling history intriguing. You need to sell your lessons, on tape or DVD, on Scottish history. I know I would buy them.
I just found out that my surname Dick is old Scottish. I would love to learn more about the Scottish history. I'm happy that your brother Graham told his viewers about your channel.
I simply hate when I accidentally stab someone. Quite an inconvenience for all involved. Thanks for sharing Scotland’s history without ‘mansplaining’. Let me know if you need me to tell you what that means 😏 Oh! GP shared your channel. I’m hoofed...hooked
Love the scenery (always wanted to see Scotland). Really like the humor in your story telling! Enjoyed the pictures and clips added. Excellent job keeping the story rolling A to Z, yet you are all over the place. Nice!
Enjoying the stories sir. Im from the states (ohio) and your country looks amazing. In my family tree i have a Williams side that is from Scotland. Will visit one day for sure. Oh and i found your channel via the hoofGP. You guys are great. Thanks again.
I like that bit of History, Wallace started and Robert the Bruce held on and fought opportunistically winning over foe! Your brother said to mention Hoof GP! I will watch you both!
Telling the story as you walk down pathways or the roads is so unique and charming. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your enthusiasm for Scottish history.
Your brother sent me over. Bet you heard that a few thousand times :) Greetings from 🇨🇦 Glad the Hoof GP referred. History is just great to learn and having a story teller to teach makes it that much more fulfilling. Have some catching up to do... Scotland is a beautiful country rich in history. Take care
😊 Thank you for this fantastic story! Robert is my ancestral Grandfather followed by John Lyon (my mother’s maiden name) and soon I will be venturing to see the land of my ancestors ❤
I am supposedly related to the Scottish Kings through the Stewards. The Stewards became royalty by one of them marrying the king's daughter. Is this true? Would you mind doing a video on the Stewards to the kings? Love the video and I can't wait to see and learn more. Love The Hoof GP as well. I am glad he mentioned you in his video. I love history, especially when it involves genealogy. Thanks for the fun!
I LOVED THIS! I love the way you create the scene. I get so involved in your stories. My kids came in to talk to me and I told them to leave me be until your video was over. Hahaha Anyway thanks for sharing. Great video as always!

You had me forever referencing everyone's favorite mail man Cliff Klavan.
Gawd I love this man telling history with feeling and a wicked sense of mirth..... more.....more....
I completely agree!!! 😁
I enjoy learning Scottish History this way. Here,in America, they didn't teach much European History at all.
