Missed your comment sorry. I think quite possibly it could work but you have to match up the B8.5 airbag with you currently have. Some of the B8s have single stage and later model ones or s line steering wheels have 2 stage with 2 connectors. The single and double stage are not interchangeable.
You need to see if your steering wheel has single stage or dual stage airbag first. Mine was original s line steering wheel with tip tronic so had the newer stage 2 airbag and same part number with just an earlier last letter. New circular airbag had same number for the first 9 digits and was a direct replacement and thankfully no fault codes.
My old wheel airbag 2 stage - 8K0 880 201 E, new one was 8R0 880 201 Q. So correction to the above was second letter of part number was also different - K in old airbag part number to R in the new airbag pn. Hope that helps mate
No problems except the nav button on the new wheel that’s used to pull up voice activation doesn’t work but everything else works well with no fault codes.
flat bottom wheel looks slick, MD

Ahh, would have given it to you if I still had it but I sold it already sorry!
@@MichaelDrowley thanks.
I plan on doing this to my b8 in the future do I need to check my airbag number before buying one of these? So they match model number

Thinking of changing the wheel on my B8 A5 to the B8.5 A5, did you have any issues with the paddles? Did you have to code them in afterwards? Thanks.
