    Sounds like a good idea to document it all, I'm 27 and the sheer amount of effort I had to put in to even get a doctors appointment was unbelievable, then the feeling of quiet disdain from the staff when I finally did get a face to face appointment really speaks to your feeling of being gaslit.
    It wasn't until I went to A&E with an incarcerated hernia that things actually began to be put into motion getting it sorted - thankfully it was just internal fat stuck with the hernia and no bowel. Still, even then it was pushed back into place and I was told it cant be that bad and sent off at 11 at night from paisley hospital, high on painkillers with no phone battery to speak of.
    All this is to say you aren't alone with that feeling of despair when one thinks of the NHS experience - but you seem plenty resilient and I'm sure you'll be fine. Wishing you the best of luck for all that helps mate haha 😅

      Hey brother, nice to speak with you.
      Absolutely, some of the staff we encounter in the nhs are so callous , they are clearly in the wrong job.
      When I first went to the doc she said probably wasn't a hernia & offered me antidepressants haha.
      Obviously it was a hernia & I declined her offer, but it's a sad day when google is actually more helpful.
      All the best mate.

    Oh you poor bastard, I feel for you .... I'm day 15 post op from double open hernia repair, suddenly realizing might be a lucky thing to have the double!😂
    Like you first 3 days were hell, but improving nicely now. I was probably a bit too eager with floor exercises yesterday & massaging out the solid feeling tissue under the scars, so I've backed off for last 24hrs & it's settled down again! Just a reminder to be patient & gentle at the moment 😊

      @@Expresshonestly in oriental medicine they explain hernia occurs when a innate CHI is nearly depleted which makes the organs go downwards, it is abstract however in line with the fascia thing. Taking rest is important in oriental medicine aside taking specific herbal mix, some use specific accupunctures to either stimulate the CHI or near the hernia place(which seems similar to the old PRONOL injection method) whicb basically makes a scar slowly around the weak place. I havent been able to access a nearby oriental doc who could do the so called accupuncture, which main stream docs are most skeptical about. This vaccuum breathing i read also has in ayuverda medicine the effect of burning your innate boiler which makes the CHI flow smooth. A abstract explanation but it is all coincidentally in line.

      @@Fab94340 In Korea, japan, china as you mentioned the oriental medicine is prescribed to retractable hernia phase and there are one or two rather standardized herbal mix. I have read some cases where some elderly men have been fixed. The CHI and organs tends to go downwards as one age and theses oriental medicine make the CHI go up, some refer to liver or some internal organ issue could also be the cause. It is also worth noting YOGA and reversestand are mentioned by one chinese amercian accupuncturist and one case I bumped into which might help with the CHI energy(which is closely related to fascia) flow. Even though accupuncture arent the first kind of choice, there are some accu points where they are noted for the effect on hernia I note they aid in make the CHI flow better. I hope you all the best some folks have success it is all different for individuals. And oriental medicine docs generally explain curing by the herbal medicine takes long time. I am taking the oriental medicine now and self pressuring the accupoints, yoga and hoping it would aid me in this path

      Yeah I battled with the health services for 2 years with the hernia I had surgery on & when I look back on the process, I think it would have been helpful to document the full process.

    Hello mate, i support your first watch and see stance, which the doctors might also take. It could be the pressure inside is moving around finding the weak spots thats what I feel like what is happening to me right now. It could be your muscle or fascia grew a little bit weak at that specific point, it could be reversible lets keep the fingers crossed. I ordered oriental medicine under the pharmacist emphasizing he can't guarantee any success, and an accupuncturist declined work and now I am self pressuring or using hand accupuncture, sigh I agree with your point in this medical road.

    • @Expresshonestly
      @Expresshonestly  3 місяці тому +1

      Yeah man it's the solo path for us when it comes to healthcare.
      Either way I will be training to try stabilise the area & balance the pressures in that area,but with age these things can become a difficult thing.
      Maybe we will get a wee stroke of good luck & blessing mate🙏.

      It's one of the gifts of growing older I feel, the understanding that we are all just trying to make the best of our injuries, both physically & mentally.

      I was examined and it was diagnosed as a Femoral Hernia. I was wearing a general hernia belt but I got a new one and it has made all the difference. THUASNE Truss.
      It creates a flat support of the groin triangle. I wear it night and day and the results have been dramatic. I feel if you stop the bulge, it allows the tissues to settle and possible repair. I am also exercising and I feel I am improving. I think my problem started after taking creatine.

    • @Expresshonestly
      @Expresshonestly  2 місяці тому

      @ianstephenson9471 ahhh that's very interesting you mention creatine.
      I was going to start taking creatine again, but I had a fleeting thought that the rapid fluid expansion in tissues could effect the hernia mesh area adversely.
      Have they spoke with you about surgery? Femoral hernias have a higher risk of strangulation
