Dabney Coleman '9 to 5' Actor Dead At 92
Dabney Coleman, a distinguished actor known for his role in "9 to 5" and his portrayal of complex characters, has passed away at the age of 92.
Coleman passed away on Thursday, as reported on behalf of the family by his daughter Singer Quincy Coleman to The Hollywood Reporter. She shared, "Coleman took his last earthly breath peacefully and exquisitely" at his Santa Monica, California home. Reflecting on her father's life, she remarked, "My father crafted his time here on Earth with a curious mind, a generous heart and a soul on fire with passion, desire and humor that tickled the funny bone of humanity." She added, "As he lived, he moved through this final act of his life with elegance, excellence and mastery."
However, his daughter did not disclose any details regarding the cause of his death or the circumstances surrounding his final days. In 2012, Dabney Coleman was diagnosed with throat cancer, which occasionally affected his ability to speak, during the filming of the second season of "Boardwalk Empire," and his scenes were expedited to accommodate his treatment and recovery process. Fortunately, he eventually overcame cancer and became cancer-free. Despite this previous health battle, the specific cause of his recent passing remains unknown.
