Gary was exploited. I don't blame him for being bitter. The world loves you at the top and loathes you at the bottom. I've watched numerous interviews with Gary over the years. He was incredibly bright and well spoken. It was such a shame it turned out so horribly for him.
If i couldve i would have tried to reach out and be best friends with him so he had some sort of lifeline & someone to listen to him who didnt want his money.
Gary Coleman was such a cultural icon back then, a true legend. His story's a template of the notion that 'life really ain't fair'. Honestly, sitting and watching those child stars amaze you on screen, you'd never have thought what the future held for him... RIP ❤
What liars I can read them a 1,000 miles away. And they seem so snooty too. What gets me is when she says, "He was sick. He was born sick, he will always BE sick." And then he claims it wasn't about the money and yet they forced him to work?.. What a load of BullMakes me thankful everyday my parents weren't like that. Smh
I wonder who his birth parents were? The main thing is Gary is tougher the 3/4 of the people I've ever met. He's a better person than most of us to be honest.
I once met Gary Coleman in a Hobby Store in Pasadena, called the Whistle Stop. He loved model trains and was stacking items up on the counter. I talked to him and shook his hand, I noticed that he had big hands for a small person. I bought one of his HO scale locomotives that I found at a model train meet years later, from a friend that bought & sold large model train collections. The locomotive is a NYC Diesel, and has his name carved onto the bottom of it... RIP Gary.
Wow! The Whistle Stop. I haven't been there in a long time. Great story. Did you hear about the Documentary about Gary Coleman on Peacock? Comes out on August, 29th.
I've always wanted to act in T.V. shows and movies ever since I auditioned to play Greg Heffley in Diary of a Wimpy Kid at age 13. My gratitude for that opportunity will never cease. After hearing what Gary went through, I am grateful that my grandmother advice me to study acting in community college because some kid actors fail to retain stardom, success, and exposure as adults, making them angry and hurt. I'm angry that I couldn't join my high school drama club because students with Cerebral palsy or any other disabilities weren't allowed to be on the 3rd floor of the school. 4 years to regain my confidence got snatched away from me.
And that's why things like that need to be changed. You have every right as anyone else to have access to everything everyone else has access to. Older buildings need to be revised for wheel chair access. I've never been in your shoes but I can imagine how frustrating and infuriating that can be. Good luck to you OK? Change will come
just call me Ellen My high school experience was miserable because I never developed as a student. Some of my teachers restrained me because they hated that I was looking for attention from my classmates. They even had the nerve to tell my mom that I'd be better off in a smaller classroom with students with intellectual disabilities. They also made rude comments about my power wheelchair. I made very few friends and I didn't have a girlfriend because they feared that they would have to take care of me for the rest of their lives. If I was able to join the drama club in high school, I'd be happier, popular, and I could have been appearing in commercials for Snickers chocolate bars or Extra chewing gum by now. I'm thankful that I'll be joining the drama club in community college this September to get some acting experience and my Associate degree.
Hectorferjr2 I'm happy for you now but completely saddened but not surprised by your high school experience. I truly am. Im so so sorry you had to go through that. And I'm not just saying that. Ive had my own stuff. We all have. Some more than others of course. Don't let the assholes get you down. That really is a crappy thing for grown ass people to do. It makes me mad. Youre young this is just the beginning. High school doesn't define who you are or what you'll become

Gary had a good soul and always tried to stay positive despite what life threw at him. Just an example of how disgusting human beings can be, I hope anyone who ever wronged hiim fucking rots. Rip Love you Gary
+snoopyb2z Amen! I could not believe how he was. Gary always seemed to move forward, despite everyone using him or trying to bring him down. Sure, sometimes he acted out, but damn, no wonder. Over all he was mostly awesome. Most folks with his experience turned to drugs, crime or suicide. Gary kept his chin up the whole way.
He didn't deserve to die like this, he seemed like such a nice and loving person. I hope he had a peaceful death and I hope he rests in peace in Heaven
I've never really known anything about Gary Coleman until today, but oh my god. Life fucked him so hard, I feel so bad. His best talent was exploited by his crappy parents who didn't even share a cent with him, he had an awful disease and had to spend his entire life with the face of the comic relief he once played, all of society acting as the eternal laugh track; it's like some sick curse or something. Rest in peace man, I really hope you get better if there's an afterlife.
how can you lose 18 million and with the lawsuit, they had to been an internal investigation . so sad about Gary Coleman who work his butt of to entertain us.
Coleman definitely had anger issues. And I think that was built up from his childhood. I think really he mainly wanted to protect himself and his dignity. But had low self esteem. He was screwed over by so many people. I also think it was pretty cool that he became a security guard. A real job after stardom.
I never watched Diff'rent Strokes and only heard Gary Coleman get ridiculed up until now. And I'm feeling preety ashamed for laughing at jokes at his expense. This dude seems really down to earth. A dollar is a dollar and I'm not ashamed to make an honest living. I like his way of thinking. Rest in piece man...
RIP Gary Coleman....rest in the peace that he deserves. No more pain,no kidney disease,no more dialysis. Gary is free now. He went through a lot in his short life. God rest his soul.
He was a "child" in a "Sharks" business. What he gave to all of us was a sacrifice - he lost his youth in a world of "Snow Business" folks "Hollywood" is not all the outsiders think it is. People whom do not have it want it as badly as he wanted to get away from it. He was in pain for sure - Bless him and I am sure he is doing finer works on the other side. Peace Gary my Fellow actor.

Just a few minutes ago my son said something to me that I didn't understand and I responded by saying, "What You Talking Bout Willis". We both laughed and then we started talking about the unpleasant childhood Coleman had. He was a brilliant young brain that got used to make people laugh instead of having him in a science class figuring out the cure for cancer. They made him out of a joke for sure at the end. I won't forgive Hollywood for not protecting Gary's money in trust funds. He was broke before he left the camera. His PARENTS didn't get the punishment from the judge that I wanted to see. They blew his money UP! Then he got sick and couldn't make people laugh anymore and Hollywood ignored him. This is 2023 and I'll never forget this kid.

With that 18 mill, he could have started his own business, got the best health care for the rest of his life, simply been independent and done anything he wanted, and probably still be alive today. Not fair, R.I.P. Gary.
He also wanted to be tall too
@@damianlatimer6472 I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller

I don’t know where 18 million dollars went.
He was robbed by his parents, managers, etc
One of the greatest sitcom actors of all time! Right up there with Michael J Fox, Don Knotts, Carroll O'connor, Sherman Hemsley, Ed O'Neill, Christina Applegate, John Ritter and Marla Gibbs. Hate he went through so much. R.I.P. Gary.
Oh my gosh I feel very sad for him. But I will always remember WHAT YOU TALKING BOUT WILLIS
