I met Soke Little John Davis at the Empire State Karate Championship Tournament back in the early 1970's. What a gentleman, and humble. That was a bone crushing tournament that day. We had cats from all over New York City, Canada, Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, etc. I almost got my nose broken in Black Belt kumite that day. This cat slapped me with a round house kick, from out of nowhere. His movements were cat like. We had been taught to fight out of those stiff stances. After that day, I shifted to a more ecletic style; using what was good, and dispensing the garbage. I am from Brooklyn, and it seems the greats are dying every day. Professor Powell was a great one! Thanks for the upload Mr. Guzman. Tener Un Buen Dia Y Que Sea Un Buen Fin De Semana!

June Lewis thanks for sharing your story it sounds like a very interesting time in the martial arts in the 70's when you could fight in tournament competition and defend yourself on the streets that is what is missing in today's martial arts dojos is balance

@@darilcaldwell31 It was, no safety gear on hands or feet. People got hurt. But, we knew how to defend ourselves on the streets. Today, you have all of these McDojos. Sad, but true. Take care Brother.
