Dr.Powell a true legend in his day. Back in early 1970 while i trained in goju my friends who were older were down with George Cofield(RIP), We were in awe of the cats from the NOI known as the FOI. it's my understanding that Moses initially was the one who training those guys. With cats like Moses,Cofield,Steve Muhamad,Duncan,Errol Bennett,HawkFrazier,John Dinkins the east coast was no joke. Respect to all those not mentioned.
So glad this man learned how to train himself to disarm people with a predatory nature...and opposing fighting skill ... not with guns and finalities but with intellect and skill!!!. I heard Moses was an amazing man. A giant among many who wore black skin and a dignity and pride that came from honoring who we really are. Warriors.
Moses Powell... wise, WISE man, and a truly awesome Martial Artist. Understand, this wasn't sport he was talking about... but something that you lived by, both in peace and in less peaceful situations.
Rest in Peace Big Brother.
I would said the same to any fool who disrespected a man he never know personally if they spoke on Ed Parker or Steve M. Dr. Powell was speaking in context to his travelling worldwide in 50's and 60's as a black man teaching black people worldwide. Man, to call somene you dont know who is dead a fraud is a punk move no matter who the dead man is. Well, what im trying to get across to you is there is more to martial arts and the warrior way than kicks and punches. Think over that one if you can.

meanwhile,the footage of master powell is from THE WARRIOR WITHIN its a bruce lees production. hmmmm seems they were pals and he much respected the man. enough to give 25 min of the film to him. just stop.
Wow, it is really brave of you to disrespect a dead man. That in itself tells someting of YOU and YOUR teachers. Many things you do NOT know about Dr. Powell so i believe that you speak from a perspective of GREAT ignorance. Why dont you get a little more information about the man before you show how brave you are to challenge him as he has passed away already. You are a tool and a slave for your master. nonsense. moses powell did in fact expose the martial arts onthe bigger platform than george harris. for whatever reason u feel a need to hate on the now dead master. how much balls does it take to do that guy? meanwhile g harris was a footnote and gm moses students have gone on to develop his craft even further. the mark of a great teacher is that such be the case. so save they hate.

I don't understand your sentence structure but yeah there is plenty of legitimate systems out there : Combat sambo Muay thai, Bjj,Kyokushin Karate,catch wrestling, boxing, etc. all verified by the actual real fight footage of it's participants!
