Great video, looks like so much fun.
👍Loved watching. Thank you for sharing you journey. Safe travels. 🤗💞🤗
When you have time please do a tour of the boat. Loving following your adventure!
I just recently discovered your channel and watched a couple videos. All great! Thanks for taking time to record, edit, and post. Looks like you’re on an amazing journey, best wishes and safe traveling.
I’ve kayaked this route. I stayed at the cabin in fury cove, and waited a week for weather to clear so we could round cape caution. Great memories, thanks for bringing them back!
Very nice. Thanks for showing so many pretty harbors on your three week trip up. Lucky family!
The inside Passage and British Columbia is beautiful and up into Alaska will love to do that again one day if I'm ever back up in the Northern Hemisphere.
Incredible. Amazing. Enjoy it to the fullest, every bit of it. Most folks will never have this opportunity. Great editing:-)
I got a laugh out of your visit to Ocean Falls, , , , , , , ,My Dad grew up in Ocean Falls. It was nice to see it again. We lived in West Vancouver, and used to sail up Desolation sound area
What a great adventure your having, I look forward to your videos so I can take it with you.
Liked the dam sign! Had to back up twice to make sure I read it right.Funny as hell!
This reminds me of 3 at Sea.
Great video editing😀 Fun to watch motorboats cruising. Most of vlog for sailboats.
As an Alamedan I really enjoy your videos and Nordhavn!
well done Cassidy on your first catches! Ask ur dad to cook it for you next time! Blessings!
Great Vlogs guys! Beautiful yacht !
Nice! God speed to u and family!
Love your guys channel can't wait to see much more!!
I really like those Nordhavn's. Maybe when I get tired of sailing my boat Nordic Sun II. Love your video.
Just found your channel, subbed! In the market for a trawler now.....I will be cruising the gulf coast, Bahamas and the east coast.
I am enjoying your videos. I would like to see more of your passages on the way to these wonderful destinations. One minute of an 80 hour trip just isn’t enough. I want to see how you and your Boat handle the situations that are bound to come up. Thanks.
Skip Maggard - point taken. When we were on the long offshore passages I wasn’t sure how much of it would be interesting but we will definitely get more “inside the boat” footage going forward. One thing we’ve often heard said about these boats - and I’m finding to be true - is the boats can handle a lot more weather than the crew!
M/V Cassidy Thanks. Looking forward to your adventures. Be Safe.
Fantastic videos you guys it's very hard to find currently footage of some of the places u guys went.. butedale for example. Living the life!thx for the video.
It's so fantastic to see you are living your dream! I will be following your channel, to hopefully get some inspiration, we would also like to take some time off (a year or two) to see the world from the see. By the way i would really like to have a tour of your very nice Nordhavn 40 :-) as it is my dream boat.
I wish you all the best on your voyage -best wishes from Denmark -Scandinavia.
amazing! subscribed!
Great vlog, keep up the good work.
Second Fiiiiish. Your daughter is so cute.
I love your channel. Great vlog, keep up the good work.
My dad was superintendent in Ocean Falls! Norman Doll. Shout out if you knew him
11:49 - that dock! Wow!
Hey! Cassi can fish! Good job kid!
Great editing-new subscriber!
Good videos! You should document the troubles and successes a bit more so we can learn also. Cheers, wp.
Always have a spare anchor and rode. Ask me how I know, LOL.
I was thinking of going on an Alaskan cruise ship, but my son, a doctor told me what it was like. He mentioned that if you like being around a bunch of people it would be great. He also said to me, "Dad, you don't like being in crowds" and he was right, I wouldn't like it. Imagine being on this trip, but instead of family and friends you'd be in a crowd of people and paying $8 a beer? Plus everything on a schedule that may not fit your own. All for $8,000 to $12,000, last time I checked.
Seeing it on a small bot is preferable in my opinion if you have the opportunity
Wonderful video! The editing is great too (do you manage this on the boat?) and the happiness of your daughter really adds a lot to the video. What a wonderful experience for a child - surely one she’ll always remember and treasure.
Good editing.
Thanks!
Beautiful countryside, good filming, what gear are you using, also sound levels spot on.
Gogs - we are kind of all over the place with the gear depending on the situation. We’ve got a couple of Olympus mirrorless cameras, GoPros, and even iPhones occasionally. Plus a DJI drone.
for this 5 week voyage did you work remote? or do you have long vacation or retired?
Do you need paravanes at sea as well as utilising the stabilisers.
When running offshore in large seas its nice to use both.
Lots of Nordic Tugs.
… cause of anchor failure?
needs a faster boat that carries fuel(instead of bladders). speed is safer to outrun storms plus need at least 50 or close to it. now if Boston whaler built a 50 footer that will be ideal
I looks like the group was 1 Nordhavn and a bunch or Nordic Tugs
Andrew Timm - 1 Nordhavn, 3 Nordic Tugs, and a Ranger Tug.
How do you get fishing licenses or do you need one while on passage?
MightSnow - fishing licenses vary by location. In British Columbia it’s really easy to purchase a non-resident permit online. In Alaska we bought them in a tackle store in Ketchikan. Kids under a certain age usually don’t need them.
What's your fuel burn?
Our fuel burn depends on how fast we run but have been trying to keep it under 2 gallons per hour - which is around 1500 rpm and a little over 6 knots. Not bad for a 50,000 lb boat but we don’t get anywhere fast!
do you own a home or live year round on the 40
you gatta stop going out of focus every time you put text on the screen.
Don't see the problem...makes you read the text!
you keep saying 'small boat'
Sean Bogaard - it is all relative. But the Nordhavn 40 is indeed a small boat compared to other boats that are capable of crossing oceans.
great videos, all I would say is try to rehearse your narrative so you dont sould like a robot. keep up the videos please!!!
why do you say you are a sailing trawler
Matthew Meuleman - we sold the Nordhavn 40 and moved to a Nordhavn 56 Motorsailer which in many ways is a trawler with a sailing rig.
@@CassidysSailingTrawler thank you
