- As a graduation gift for my daughter Morgan, I took her and my fiancee Teresa to Savannah, Georgia. We ate too much, walked too much, and laughed too much, lol. A truly memorable trip. I was in Savannah many years ago and drove a steam engine at The Georgia RR museum. Watch that video also. No train videos this year, as I focus on my daughter, mom, fiancee, and salsa.
Thanks for the family insight. Glad you are having some fun!
Miss your railroad stuff...but family is always on the top of anything...ty for the video
maybe 2025, but nothing planned for now.
Glad that you're having fun. And don't forget to SALSA!
Hi DJ! Nice tour, thanks for sharing.
So great to see a video from you again. Glad you, your daughter & fiancee are happy and doing well.
After being furloughed from CSX for almost 16 years, I got a notice from them congratulating me on retirement! I filed no papers or anything. In fact I think my "MyCSX" computer account was closed last year due to inactivity. I got a nice desktop plaque with a SIX POUND sculpture of a locomotive, I think an SD60, a personalized plaque from the current CEO, AND a choice of gifts. I thought of you when browsing them because there was a nice golf bag. There was a mantel clock, Seiko his or hers gold wristwatch, a couple other things, and the one I chose, a gold double-hunter's case pocketwatch. I'll put a link to the manufacturer's page on it. It's engraved with CSX and the years of my being an employee on their books. Too bad the RR Retirement board doesn't count those years.
It was a nice thing to receive and will make a nice display. I haven't carried nor worn a watch since I retired from my last (non-RR) job in 2016, but it's pretty so I'll show it off on a nick-knack shelf.
See what you have to look forward to?
All the best, Daniel

Fantastic time with family, just awesome. So stoked you’re happy. Thank you.
Yes! Thank you!
We're lucky General Sherman spared Savannah. The river is crazy. There's little motorboats out there with the 10-story cargo ships. Thanks for sharing!

Hey! Pretty cool! Thanks for sharing.
Those mossy trees look awesome during the day time, but SUPER creepy at night.
Totally!
Savannah is a cool city, my cousin was working at the water treatment plant!! Looks

A very cool city!!
My favorite city in America.
Thanks for the update. Great to see how happy you are and thanks for the insights on Savannah. Now on my 'list of places I want to go to." Cheers.
You should!, there’s so much more than I could cover
We love Savannah and have lots of family there. Sooo much history. Blessings & Joy DJ & All!! 💚💙💜
Was there a few months ago. It was drizzley, but I drove and walked some, took pics, looked at the homes. Spoke with a woman who heard the gunshot that killed Danny Hansford. I'll be back this Fall. You're right. Nice town.
Good that you're enjoying life. Nice to see a little window into what's happening now. Stay well.
Thanks, you too!
I'm glad you're having fun and enjoying life. Traveling is good for the soul. Ron Montague
It sure is
Great video thanks for sharing. I saw in a documentary that Savannah Georgia is the most haunted city in the US
The amount of people who died and their graves were simply paved over is staggering

Good to hear your doing well and life is going good. Congrats on the engagement, I don't think you had proposed in the last update. Life is short, enjoy it all every day.
We got engaged in Las Vegas at the end of March
Love it there
It's my 3rd time. Maybe a retirement plan for me in 5 years, and 9 months.
@@djstrainsGot the countdown going, I see! All the best as you start thinking about retirement.
Wife and I went to Savannah in May last year for our honeymoon - a beautiful city. I hope you went to Leopolds ice cream...
We are a lot of ice cream and cake that trip, lol.
Good thing we walked an average of 17,000 steps a day
DJ thanks so very much for sharing your experience with us also are you still working with CSX
Yes! I have 5 years, 9 months and 11 days left until retirement
Hopefully you went to the roundhouse museum. I have been there several times.
I did a video there many years ago. It’s with the steam video that is on my channel.
