Thanks. I really needed a life-affirming experience like this, showing the lush environment and healthy populations which, if new administration has its way, will not be available for future generations (of people or birds) to enjoy.
I think the narration missed talking about the balance and equilibrium of that ecosystem. Even though it looks like birds population is exploding, they really cannot exceed what the marshes can support for feeding them and housing them. Right at that limit larger predators play a role too in limiting the population. What is the greatest indicator of health of any ecosystem is not the numbers of individuals but the diversity of species that successfully can live and reproduce. It's a place where evolution is very active due to natural competition.
