@@pmbbmp Karl absolutely does spout nonsense. Just because he's smarter than people make out, doesn't mean we have to act like he doesnt talk shite, when he definitely does. In fact when you run out of Pilky material, reacting to scenes from EXTRAS with the likes of Owen, David Bowie, Daniel Radcliffe, Kate Winslet...and Warwick Davis would be a great option.
Watched this series about 10 years ago. Have been watching every episode with you gents as background whilst doing some work. Was great to see you witness Clive Warren. This is, by far, the most the two of you have laughed and fallen over. Absolutely the best episode of the podcast as I recall
@@tdegrddeehjgd Haha holy shit I totally forgot about Karl's aging backwards idea, like with a watch or something. Did Benjamin Button actually come out after the podcast episode?

Years ago I used a fan so I could sleep, then I started using the xfm shows with Ricky, Steve and Karl (and various other podcasts). Now, almost every night I put on a reaction from this channel to the Ricky Gervais show.
My favourite RGS episode... And as an Aussie living under a earth size rock I was in stitches... Charlie Brooker must have seen this episode to inspire a Black Mirror episode lol
they used his movie idea in an episode of black mirror with the wife in the mans head and how horrific that would be after awhile and it was one of the best episodes of black mirror. So maybe his idea wasn't so stupid after all.
I thought it was one of the worst. When I watched it, I thought that and the pain doctor part were too ridiculous for the show and they didn’t really make sense, and then when I went back and rewatched this and realized their source, it made sense why.
Its also the basis of the Steve Martin/Lilly Tomlin movie, All Of Me. Her consciousness is taken out and put into his body after she's died and they share a consciousness.
The crazy part about this is that they've already made that movie. It's called All of Me, starring Lily Tomlin and Steve Martin. It's actually a pretty damn funny movie.
I came here looking to see if anyone brought this movie up. With some slight differences its the same idea. Man shares the consciousness of a woman after she's died. Even deals with the theme Karl mentioned of "two brains in love with each other." Saw this one in theaters when I was young.
The BEST part of this show is going back and forth from Ricky's just squealing with laughter and his high-pitched laughing and then him getting infuriated with the stupidity of it all...
21:42 White noise (or pink noise, brown noise or some other constant or regular noise) absolutely does help some people sleep. Works perfectly for me and you can even buy products which create various types of noise, like white noise, rain, crashing waves, etc. I sleep with a fan on all night, 365 days of the year, even in the dead of winter. Doesn't work for some people, but definitely does for others.
Karls movie could be amazing. Maybe just made the choice over consciousness being transferred not the physical brain, almost like quantum leap, Loved that show! And then his sinister consciousness is has more willpower, Could be a good futuristic psychological horror And I'm very critical of movies, definitely no film buff
Karls movie idea was sort of in an episode of Black Mirror. The husband's consciousness got digitally transferred into his wife's mind but she turned him off because she wanted to move on. Edit: it was actually the wife inside the husband's head but everything else was the same.
Imagine Suzanne getting half of Karl's brain and waking in the morning to "Did I tell you about the immune system"
