I really like the idea of playing different tees over a few rounds. Start at the shortest tees a work back to try to match the shortest tee score.
You need to do a round with golf sidekick and film it. You 2 are the best for golf entertainment. You'll get 5 million views.

Just played 9 rounds in the last 6 days. How about a video on improving ballstriking when switching to more difficult clubs to hit. I could use that right now.

Great tips Al, I shall take these tips the next time I play golf. At my home club I am club captain and I have noticed that while concentrating on the duties of club captain my own game is suffering occasionally I have a good round and play well but when there is a tournament on or a lot of matches to be played and organized I find my own game turns to shit.

Your advice on the par 3 is spot on! Once i quit flag hunting and started playing to the middle of the green my scores went down. Especially tyring to play to a front pin. Seems like i always came up short.
Annika’s advice was to hit to the middle of the green and putt to the edges.

I love to hit the ball as hard and far as the next guy but honestly my best rounds are achieved when I can get my approach within that 100 yard comfort zone that I have, I know exactly how to control the ball at that distance. If I cook the ball and somehow get the ball within 50 yards of the green all my faults come to life… the stuff nightmares are made of.
Go on then… blade it to the next tee box and have a think about why you just missed the green… again.
I can’t hit that 50 yard shot to save my life. So I avoid it… but that is not really the answer, I should be doing drills at the 50 years range but I don’t. For shame.
Then there is the score killing creek I think I can clear if I just give it some sauce. 😂 That never works out.
Lay up you egoistical fool. 😒 (I refuse!!! I just spent a grand on this fancy new driver!)

The 5 tips I follow for breaking 85:
1. Don’t hit your shots fat
2. Don’t hit your balls in the water
3. Stop hitting your ball into the trees
4. Stop hitting trees when trying to get out of the trees
5. Stop making so many #@+43/ =#(&ing doubles

One good way to improve is to go play without a scorecard, don't worry about a score and just worry about the shot, it helped me. Cheers!

Ive got to that stage where i take one more club than my average yards per club ie 100yds is now a stock wedge with no wind, or soft 9 if its damp….accuracy and staying out of trouble saves me a dozen shots per round…putting well there’s another story!
I think we should just ban putting 😂

I had three 79's last year and the one constant was that I was not counting my way there. All 3 rounds it was a surprise at the end. I felt good, played well and made putts. Act like you've been there before 😊

Its beyond me how someone who plays golf with any intentions of getting better at it .....could not know how far each club in the bag goes .... not only how fat it goes but how to hit different yardages with the same club ....which clubs do you feel the most confident in ....and whats you miss .....i think the biggest factor in trying to lower your score besides know the yardages of your equipment....is having a one way miss ....i know everyone hates hitting a slice ....but some of us just have to face it ....if we can get the slice down to a slight fade ....you can play that with some good success....being able to hit it both ways on comand is great i am sure ....and hiting it high or low as well ....but for most average golfers getting their game to where they know what the ball is going to do on their worst swing and having that a one way miss ....has to be a starting point in improving score
If I’ve got a certain shape happening on the golf course I used to try and fix it mid round which I madness. Starts a two way miss. Really good to play with what you’ve got on the day 👌
I think for some golfers they play too close to the green - if you’re struggling with pitch and chips then maybe stick it to a distance you’re confident on, even if it’s 50 - 100 yards.
If that’s your weakness sure thing! Definitely a good thing to play to strength
I wear 2 gloves. I have a skin issue that makes the grip jack up my hands.
Probably sensibly for both hands? Not for the same hand like me 👍😂🤦♂️
Guilty of a few of these. Haven’t pulled the trigger on a lesson. Need a better idea of my yardages.
Knowing your yardages is often overlooked!

I have a TIP: I play a round at my course at least once a year with ONLY IRONS. Makes the round very interesting.
