I threw this video together based on some notes I took on lunch break one day so hopefully you bear with me homie haha. BUT more importantly: I want your thoughts on everything Halo. Can be the studio's name change, future Halos, Halo's future, etc. What do you think should be in Halo 7?
Switching to unreal is not a graphical situation. Its a coding issue. No one knew how to work on slipspace engine. Everyone has a basic unrear knolage.
When you say gameplay, what do you mean? I have a couple hundred hours in infinite, don’t have a problem with the gameplay. Story, I’m not against the idea that 343 was weak with the story.
Gameplay is just preference in my opinion is fun for Halo cause it’s not as fast as CoD but faster then Enlisted. I found the story meh in halo besides the writing for Master chief in Infinute.
I guess for me, the gameplay is good I just dislike that they took out certain weapons and assassinations. I could be wrong but I don't believe the Spartan Laser or SMG are in Infinite. I should also say that I don't dislike Infinite I just wanted more haha. Otherwise, the lack of continuity from Halo 5 to Infinite is why I'm not big on the story
A lot of ppl boycott Infinite bc they dropped the ball w co-op again. Halo is supposed to be a premium splitscreen co-op physics sandbox shooter. 343 tarnished that identity for graphics w Halo 5. That's why despite Infinite becoming free, many fans still did not play. It's obvious the player count peaked during Halo 3, when 4 ppl could splitscreen on social lobbies for multiplayer - they're just too dimwitted to make the connection, and that would sell consoles bc splitscreen is often tougher on PC, despite Rocket League showing it does not have to be... They could have sold millions more copies if they never would've ditched co-op splitscreen for Halo 5 and delayed splitscreen for Infinite.
I dont get why they always get rid of the good things about the game like playable elites, flood, assassinations, dual wielding, different biomes, split screen CO-OP, classic multiplayer maps that were actually good, Warzone... they even got rid of REQ system and replaced it with where you literally have to buy everything
Exactly, and to me, those are all the BA things that make you feel like a supersoldier (except playable Elites obviously but Elites are still BAMFs). I might as well just be a UNSC marine out there because of the lack of fancy skills or features 🤷♂️ the micro transactions are an obvious downgrade to gaming as a whole. I miss the old days when you had to earn armor cosmetics either by XP or completing a challenge (e.g.: Halo 3 Recon by completing Vidmasters)
I don't have a problem with the open world I just wish they did more with it like adding different biomes and making every side missions not copy pasted everywhere. I also wish you could just replay Individual missions.
Tanno you’ve gone through like 15 name changes over the years haha😅 At least you still love making content because you’re amazing and your content is so much better that it was before. Glad you’re still making vids. Also I’ve never played halo before which is sad but it’s very cool, so I might buy one soon
Thanks, CMAK, and I was going to wait to say it, but I mentioned your comment in my next episode. Yeah, I'm still *technically* struggling to find my footing on YT right now, but I'm hoping this will be the last name change 😅. Thanks for your kind words homie and I love Halo despite its recent shortcomings. If you haven't played any Halo, I would recommend Reach 👍
They should let us play through different perspectives throughout the story. What I mean is like having a campaign for each member of blue team of their perspective on a battle or something. I think it would be a great idea
That would awesome to. I could def see a spinoff or something where you play as each member of Blue team individually. Maybe throw Red team in there as DLC? That would get me jazzed haha
I have hope for Halo Studios, they fired almost all the staff that once worked for 343 Industries (including my cousin😂) so most of the team is new. Practically the entirety of the leadership that launch Infinite is gone. Switching to Unreal was because they could focus less on maintaining the Slipspace Engine. Fingers crossed the next Halo Titles are great.
Hopefully they're better but I think it can't be Halo any longer. Mostly because Bungie started this whole venture with a goal in mind and a story to put out there. Fast forward 20 years, Bungies gone and Microsoft just wants the series to keep chugging along to rake in the money. Bungie had the dream and initiative, Microsoft/343i/Halo Studios wants the fortune and fame. Same thing happened with Walmart and countless other companies
Fellow lore enthusiast here, cool video! About graphics, it was said by Lead FX designer who's work is you know, Visuals. So I don't cling to that word as much. And in the article they have already explained how that lore and gameplay matters, and graphics alone is not Halo. And the whole idea of open world was actually recycled from CE-era when Bungie intended Halo CE to be open world. Infinite, being very intentionally like CE, implemented it. But I agree, it's not very good and I'd prefer a semi-open world. And Scarabs absolutely need to return. Have you seen those Banhised Scarabs from HW2? They are beasts! Should be super fun to play when designed correctly.
At least I hope they don't think updating graphics/coding is the solution haha. And too be honest, I don't mind the open world! It reminds of Far Cry a little bit and I like that. I just don't think it fits in with a Master Chief-lead Halo game. They should've thrown in a HW2 Scarab to capture in Infinite! Now that would be sick to rescue UNSC squads maneuvering around in one of those 🤘
Hi dude! I see youre relatively new on youtube! Just subbed! Im thinking of making a channel and covering halo stuff but in Spanish, so i wish you luck :)
Thanks homie and I wish you luck as well 👍 there's a lot to cover with this game franchise and a lot of it still hasn't been talked about. I'm sure a Halo-based gaming channel in Spanish will really open the doors for a big audience to march right on thru and I hope yours is that channel 🤘 hit it hard my dude
I think there's a triangle to halo you need to build in order to have a great game. Story telling, setting, and gameplay. The problem with 343 games is they only ever hit 2 out of the 3. H4 had a cool setting and a okay story if you don't look to far into it. But the gameplay was trash (if you think fighting teleporting knights and watchers that can revive said knights, good for you). H5 had good gameplay but missed storytelling and setting. Infinite had good gameplay and okay storytelling, but the setting was the same 2 environments repeated over and over, and one of the environments was just forerunner but with banished shit thrown in it.
They have to get rid of mandatory PC and Xbox crossplay. It ruined the multiplayer experience for console players: cheaters, different movement possibilities, and I'm betting that's why the network sucks too.
Yeah I agree. Kind of off topic but I know some NCAA 25 Football gamers that play on Xbox and get destroyed by PC cheaters and they think PC should be separate from other consoles. They definitely should do the same for Halo
Halo: Infinite was a return to the gameplay and story that MADE the Halo universe the unstoppable juggernaut franchise that it was in the beginning. All of the off the rails nonsense of Halo 4 & 5 are gone, in the past... if we could retcon them out of existence with some kind of weird Forerunner temporal portal, we would... Halo was, and now is again, at its best when it's Master Chief, his little blue booty buddy (whether it's the OG Cortana or the perky new Weapon Cortana, IDC... they're both awesome) and a few random squads of bullet shields... I mean Marines... against a pack of large alien bastards who want to rule everything. Leave out the politics (except for some occasional bits about why we're killing the aliens) and stick to what made you King of the Ring... bullets and buckets of blue blood blossoming on the walls and battlefields.
I think halo could salvage some of the hype if they made a continuation of the story bc 343 has a history of rebooting the story, like 4 and 5 aren't connected, in infinite the prometheians don't exist im sure if 343 just continued this games story and committed to it we would get some great games
You hit the nail on the head my friend. There's just no continuity with Halo and that's what I don't like. Put in a weapon, take out a weapon. Input a feature, take out a feature 🤦♂️
The change to Unreal Engine is purely for Microsoft's 18 months contract worker bullshit, the game's performances will suffer from it, like most Unreal Engine games. You want armour lock back? The most random shit ever added to a Halo game... Why you want ADS so badly, Zoom was and will always be the far superior mechanic. And assassinations, you enjoy being killed while stuck in a useless animation and missing out on a chance of a possible double kill and survival... You want all of that, but the open world is a problem for you xD Them adding an open world on top of the missions in the next game would great, if they had ever updated and added things to Infinite's open world and missions then it could have become one of the best open worlds ever made. Microsoft is just too dumb to learn that the rest of the game should have been released in the state it's now and not in the beta state it was for 2+ years.
I think the best way for 343 to show us that they care and want to make Halo as good as it was is to reset from Halo3. Have Chief wake up( maybe make the last 3 games his nightmare that he gets woken up from) to ODST's as they try to quickly escort him to their ship, they get attacked on the way and the ODST members can bring Chief up to speed on whats been happening while he was gone. Maybe have Each alien species have their own reasons to no longer have faith in humanity being reclaimers. Maybe a new set of prophets that have spread doubt's far and wide. Either way you can introduce new factions with mixed species or the same ones each having different manners of engagement. Imagine an army that took on a more stealth approach to their combat, have another faction thats all about brute force as fast as possible. You can mix it up by later having small groups from each faction in one location, maybe some are willing to work with other factions to take down the Chief while other factions wouldn't want to share in the glory of killing the Chief. Having this chaotic warfare from multiple factions and in multiple locations would also help the flood out for a return, imagine toward the end of this new Halo4 you get hints that the flood some how managed to survive and has been building up is mass in the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Their is so much that can be done with Halo it genuinely pisses me off that they tried to turn it into a shitty starwars knock off. Side note: grapple hook ruined halo's combat A LOT. Like when you can just grapple out of a bad position you put yourself in it removes the strategy to the STRATEGY ARENA SHOOTER! when I can clear the campaign with JUST MELEE and a GRAPPLE HOOK with relative ease ON LEGENDARY!!! theirs a problem!!
Get your terminology and history correct before you put out a “do this better” video. I agree with most of what you said in the video. Halo Studios is not different from 343, and the new game will crash and burn like every other game they’ve made. Sucks!
Here's the thing bucko, I don't aim to be a historian or a know-it-all when it comes to Halo or any game. My goal is just to talk about these things and let people chime in about their thoughts because it opens conversation. Otherwise, every person that "thinks" they know best will shut down any conversation about it. There's always people that will know more than me and that's fine. I aim to learn regardless if I have all the history and terminology correct or not
I threw this video together based on some notes I took on lunch break one day so hopefully you bear with me homie haha. BUT more importantly: I want your thoughts on everything Halo. Can be the studio's name change, future Halos, Halo's future, etc. What do you think should be in Halo 7?

Honestly I think they should completely restart the series. Remake the original trinity of the games using the Bungie lore as hard guidelines
I have hope for Halo Studios, they fired almost all the staff that once worked for 343 Industries (including my cousin😂) so most of the team is new. is this satirical?

Halo 5 had a problem of telling you what was going on too
I think there's a triangle to halo you need to build in order to have a great game. Story telling, setting, and gameplay. The problem with 343 games is they only ever hit 2 out of the 3.

Honestly the next Halo game should be next gen only. Having to run on base Xbox One from 2013 really held the game back too.
