First Timers Welcome Explained

Continuing our series of videos explaining the different volunteer roles there are at parkrun. In this video, we explore the First Timers Welcome. This role is to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for first timers and visitors by describing parkrun, its inclusiveness and ethos, and highlighting any course-specific information. Seeing this role on a volunteer roster may be very comforting to a brand new participant.

The key important of parkrun is if you are first timer listen to the run director's comments and you can walk, jog or run but the key important is not how fast you are just enjoy your parkrun. Its a way to make new friends, share a coffee and listen to other parkrun experience. Its been a very difficult year for everyone for the last two years and its good that we have parkrun there for us all and thank you to the volunteers who dedicated their times without them parkrun will never happened.
