2 Years Guitar Progress (Motivational Video) - Flamenco Edition - Classical Guitar

  • Опубліковано 11 сер 2018
  • Hi everyone and welcome back to the channel.
Two years ago, I decided that I would start learning and practising flamenco guitar.
I’ve always been fascinated by Spanish music, and I remember listening to the Gipsy Kings as a kid and watching Paco de Lucia’s unbelievable skills on TV.
And I said to myself that one day, I would learn that music style.
    Well, better late than never.
I dedicated myself to flamenco guitar about 2 years ago. (Even though I practised guitar previously)
For your information, I’m a lazy person… so I didn’t practice for two years non-stop… yeah I know sorry… And also for personal reasons I had to make a break for few weeks.
But I’m still really happy with the progress I’ve made, however, I don’t pretend to be an expert in the field.
I hope that you enjoy this short video, I hope that it motivates you to practice guitar.
And never forget: Practice, practice and practice again!

I'm 57 and been thinking about trying to learn Flamenco guitar. I've never played any instrument and definitely wouldn't have 3 hours a day for practice, but still think it would be an enjoyable challence.

Just starting myself... at 54. Never played guitar in my life. Beginning with flamenco... and likely staying with flamenco. Learned a long time ago to go where the heart desires, and getting too old for sidetracks. ;) Hope I can be half this good in 2 years. But, after the initial investment in a quality instrument, it's a fairly cheap pastime. Should keep me out of trouble.

Man I have been waiting ages for a video like this
I buyed a classical guitar 3 years ago learned just basics and then give up i was very interested in flamenco but coudnt learn it with basic skills and there wasnt easy songs either to start learning along with or videos on youtube or books
i was also interested in metal and rock but couldnt do much with classical guitar and I didnt want to buy an electric guitar in case I get bored of it
then I start listning to gypsy kings and latin music and want to learn again along with cajon and you are the perfect inspiration
if someone have easy songs to suggest me to start with please share them

Hi and thank you for your comment!
To be honest, Flamenco is pretty hard at first, but once you pass through the learning curve, you will really enjoy it!
Good news is I’ve just posted a new lesson on rumba here: ua-cam.com/video/E9_NxA0eu3g/v-deo.html
I can’t really recommend any “easy songs”, but I think you should start with some classical music’s such as “ Romance” or Fernando Sor studies to start. And then switch the Flamenco once you feel comfortable.

When you started to practice flamenco, did you already have some experience playing guitar or you were a beginner? Because Man, that's impressive. I'm looking to start practicing flamenco, but i have zero experience...

Hi Luis. I never played flamenco before, but I played electric guitar in the past.
The most difficult thing about flamenco music is the right hand technique, which is really challenging.

You had a teacher to teach you or you learnt of your own. If you learnt yourself what resources you used?

Mrinal Kalita I don’t know if you’ve started your guitar journey already, but for classical guitar be it Flamenco or regular classical guitar I‘d recommend going to a teacher actually because you can pick up bad habits as the techniques are very challenging and you can also hurt yourself

Where did you learn all the songs from? Do you have a special book? I can't find a full tutorial or book where it shows me exactly where i should start and how i should progress
