    Finally someone that explain properly the right hand tecnique. Thank you! Can you teach how can i start the finger picking to play the flamenco solos like Paco de Lucia playing Malagueña Lecuona. That it's the song that i'm learning to play the entire song! Not just the Main parts of it like they show in the most of the videos. It's the most Challenging song that i'm trying to play it just like Paco de Lucia did. I play mostly all kind of rock songs with their solos and everything. I'm Malagueña Lecuona it's a song that takes me to a spiritual set of mind. Sometimes when i listen Malagueña Lecuona i literally cry of the emotion and the high elevation of energy that the song has and looking the videos of Paco de Lucia playing that song it's stunning. There is a russian guy that plays flamenco and plays a Lot of Paco de Lucia's songs. His name is something like Grisha or something like that . You probably know who im talking about!

    • @CarloEspresso
      @CarloEspresso  4 роки тому +3

      Hi Juan, and thanks for watching.
      Grisha has to be one the greatest flamenco player there is right now (if not the best). Reaching that level of technic require years of dedication and practice.
      Just to tell you how good he is… I actually believe that Grisha has surpassed Paco De Lucia himself…
      I don’t know what you’re guitar level right now, but (if) you are beginner, I don’t recommend aiming for such a difficult thing to play: ( This is Paco playing it, at 2:35 it becomes extremely fast 😮 ) ua-cam.com/video/5X6Vji2Cy-I/v-deo.html
      Even confirmed guitar player would need, weeks, months... or maybe years to reach that level of perfection.
      Look, I’m not trying to discourage or anything, but like people say, walk before one can run.
      On the other hand, maybe one day, I’ll play my own version of Malaguña, who knows.
      All the best 😉.
      Carlo.

      Grisha is not even at the level of the current top spanish virtuosos, let alone being worthy of being compared to Paco.

    Good...good. well explained. It seems quite easy to perform. The most easy pattern so far I have seen on line. I like the golpe on this version. You don't have to come to a full stop of movements and by keeping still the thumb on the surface it allows for the last 3 movements (index up/down/up) to be consistent (both sound &definition). Then the same thumb at rest will immediately ignites the first movement due to its position that will allows the thumb to immediately come down. And believe me...the end and the begging of the pattern it's perhaps the most important part of this since it allows ur mind to know where you are once you start speeding up the process,
    Great job 👌

    Thanks for this. I've been studying Spanish for six years on my own (there are few Spanish speakers where I live), and thought I'd look into trying the flamenco guitar, after hearing someone play recently. It's unlikely that I can get nails other than my thumb and pinky finger long enough on my right hand to pick the strings, and have decided that's going to have to be enough. Finding a flamenco guitar where I live is turning out to be a challenge.

    Thanks so much Carlo for posting this video on Rumba... as you mention there's more than one way to Rumba. I saw Juan Martin hitting the guitar at the bridge and then above the sound hole for different percussive sounds. You used that Rasqueado fan technique in the beginning of the video and that was cool. What I love about flamenco guitar is that once you master the 6 or 7 techniques needed to play this music, you can create your own Flamenco style. It's a lot different from playing classical guitar... it's much more free and less restrictive. Thanks so much again this is just what I needed to get me started.👍👍

    You are really good at teaching and hopefully I can now practice this technique. I`ve always wanted to learn Enter Dos Aquas`s rhythm strumming. Would be great if you could make a short tutorial like this. Thanks for your time and lesson.

      @@CarloEspresso great video. It sounds like Rumba once one gets to that strumming pace and fluency. My estimate for beginners to get there will be around 5 years of daily practice to play only this pattern that you explained 🤣

      You can if you do as he says and PRACTICE. Seriously, it is not as difficult as it may seem but you do need to apply yourself and work at it. It's going to take a while to become proficient in the strum pattern. Equally, the chords are not overly difficult but a full F Major Barre chord can be an obstacle. You may have to learn an alternate F chord until you can perform barre chords but this still should not dissuade you from learning.
