I have always loved drafting. My dad had a drafting table with drafting machine, unfortunately I did not get it when he passed away in 2006. My brother told me it was too far gone. I have been pondering getting one however I can not justify the space it takes.
I found a VEMCO Drafting Arm at a flea market priced at $3.00, obviously the seller had no idea what it was or its value. It was missing the scales which I was able to source. It cleaned up nicely and I use it all the time on my crappy little artist table that I should probably replace with a good, used drafting table with a Vyco cover. A drafting arm appears to be a better system than those drafting tables with a horizontal scale rest on pulley cables. Does anyone know why mechanical drawing is called "Drafting"?
I did four years of technical drawing at high school. Still got my drafting set and t-square from the time. Thanks for sharing.
Thankyou so much for sharing this.
Happy New Year.
