My dad drank this with all his buddies...Bubba, Grady. And he said if you mixed with champagne you'd get "champ-ipple" and if you mixed it with "Boujolais" ("French furniture polish) you'd get "Beu-jo-lipple"!! Pop was nuts. Miss him!!
Yeah, tell me about it! Rollo and me had dates with two groovy chics...Della and Angel..over at Rolo's pad. We had Boujloais...they said that was "Faarrench furniture polish!" and were ready to split. Along comes pop, all hip in his red velvet tux...with Ripple and onion stew. Those two hip chics were all over pop...me and Rollo split, went fishing. @@tsartodd
Ahhhh memories! Used to buy this every Friday and Saturday night when I was 18. Me and the boys would get so sloshed, we said we would never drink it again, but we always did! A good cheap high-especially if you were a college student and cash strapped, "Pagan Pink" was the one to drink. Does anybody remember "Boone`s Farm Apple Wine"?
We sure drank our share of it in the day. 1970 and Ripple went together. Funny, until today, 50 years later, I never knew it was made by Gallo! I never read the label past Ripple, and oddly never saw a commercial for it.
Aw man, I used to love Ripple when I was in high school back in the late 70's. That and good ol' Mexican brick weed in all of its stem and seedy glory, but these days I'm more of a Firesteed Oregon Pinot Noir and Sour Diesel type of guy now that I'm pushing 55 as opposed to 15 like I was in 1979...✌
@Ricky Bias it was called "Sangria" and it had a mixture of tropical fruits. I got tha complete series at my house and that episode still cracks me up to this day. Lol "Hey negro come here." Hahahaha
I always thought Redd Foxx would have been a natural spokesman for Ripple because he used to talk about it all the time on "Sanford & Son". Ex: Champagne & Ripple = Champipple!
What was that one episode where Joleo brought fred and Lamont out for dinner and Fred said bring me some more of that Ripple,, nd uhmm hold the garbage hahahaa
When I was a kid, my folks drank Ripple. It was less than a buck at the local store. I remember to this day taking a sip of it and the taste. Never had it after that.
1972. Eight years old. First time I ever heard of Ripple was off the lips of Fred Sanford. I always thought it was some kind of a joke, a made up drink. Now I have to buy some.
The good old 60's cheap bum wines, I remember T-Bird, Ariba, Silver Satin, MD20/20 Cisco, NightTrain. Hot summer days and a cool bottle of .50 cent wine!
How do I describe the taste? It wasn`t too bad. Kinda like a semi-carbonated fruit punch. There probably was a high sugar content too. It tasted a hell of a lot better than T-Bird. All I know is that it did the trick and the price was right. Other than the red Chianti wine my father drank, this was probably one of the first wines I ever tasted. Also, it was fairly popular among college students at SUNY in the early 70s.
The official drink of Fred G. Sanford
That's S A N F O R D period.
You big dummy.
And the "G" is for "glub, glub, glub." 🍹🍹🍹
Oooook not that serious dude Lol
that was champipple
A time-honored alley wine perfect for those special occasions behind the dumpster.
🤣🤣
Ha!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Hear that, Elizabeth, I'll be coming to join you honey! With a glass of ripple in my hand!"-Fred G. Sanford
Fred: "Hey son, go get the drink i got chillin in the refrigerator."
Juanita: "Oh you got champagne?"
Fred: "No, soda and ripple!"
Lmfao. Classic.
😂😂😂i just watched that vid before this!

Fred also liked a Fripple cocktail. On The rocks!
@@msgfrmdaactionman3000 What about cream and Ripple "Cripple"
I used to mix my Ripple with Christian Brothers. I called it Cripple.
Lmfaooo NICE!!!
uh? Fred called cream and ripple cripple.
:-P
LMAO😂😂😂😂
I tried it last night and my head was crippled the next morning!
My dad drank this with all his buddies...Bubba, Grady. And he said if you mixed with champagne you'd get "champ-ipple" and if you mixed it with "Boujolais" ("French furniture polish) you'd get "Beu-jo-lipple"!! Pop was nuts. Miss him!!
Ripple also goes well with your father's onion stew!
"Its the wine that winks back at you, then KICKS YOUR ASS".
Cheap buzz + hard hangover!
I would drink Wild Irish Rose age 13 with my black buddy Marcus, NYC 1970s.
Manischewitz and Ripple --> Manischipple
The perfect compliment for Ripple's "ring a ding flavor is"....Gorilla Cookies! Wheres aunt Esther ? Heeheh!
Ripple with cream. Cripple.
Ripple needs 2 make a comeback. I've always wanted 2 have a little taste: Thanks 2 Fred Sanford.
I heard that Obama was investing in the Ripple market.
Dick Tufeld is the announcer in this "spot ad" that usually appeared during local station breaks in the early '60s.
Thumbs up if Sanford and Son brought you here!!
Ernest and Julio never had any problem with exploiting the wino demographic!
Fred Sanford would be proud to see this. One love 👌
Also the offical wine of Marie Antoinette
"I'm coming to join you Elizabeth! With a fifth of ripple!"
We sure drank our share of it in the day. 1970 and Ripple went together. Funny, until today, 50 years later, I never knew it was made by Gallo! I never read the label past Ripple, and oddly never saw a commercial for it.
I'm glad I missed that in my area in the 70s. Beer and Wild Irish Rose and wine cocktails.
"Ripple's your REAL daddy! Without Ripple, I never would have made you!"
😂🤣
Fred: champagne and ripple. Champipple.
This is what we poor folk would drink in the '60's! No lie!
And Bartles & Jaymes :)
White people drinking Ripple? Talk about misleading advertising. Gallo Bros. should've used Redd Foxx as their pitchman.
Frfr
Sanford and Son came out it in 1972, they didn’t have time machine in 1964.
I didn't even get a crack at this wine, but I'm pretty sure Fred G Sanford loved it.
Goes great with mofongo and gorilla cookies!
Aw man, I used to love Ripple when I was in high school back in the late 70's. That and good ol' Mexican brick weed in all of its stem and seedy glory, but these days I'm more of a Firesteed Oregon Pinot Noir and Sour Diesel type of guy now that I'm pushing 55 as opposed to 15 like I was in 1979...✌
Now if you had Sangria with it You would have had Flapple according to Fred Sangria tasted like Ripple gone flat that's why he called it Flapple.
Less hangovers as well! Party on my friend.
@Ricky Bias it was called "Sangria" and it had a mixture of tropical fruits. I got tha complete series at my house and that episode still cracks me up to this day. Lol "Hey negro come here." Hahahaha
Yeah instead of saying sangria Fred called it shangrala
Ripple didn't need a cork remover which was handy.
bring on the Ripple! ain't no party with no Ripple!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 and onion stew!!! We love onion stew 😂😂
There was one episode, he mix in Lamonts Beaujolais with some RIpple and called it Beaujolipple
Fred Sanford approves of this message!
I always thought Redd Foxx would have been a natural spokesman for Ripple because he used to talk about it all the time on "Sanford & Son". Ex: Champagne & Ripple = Champipple!
Coutinue too rest in paradise redd foxx🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😔😔😔😔😔😘😍
Not so much a ripple, more of a tidal wave.
Like a RIPPLE in the TOILET BOWL.
The Official Drink of Fred G. Sanford( And The G is for Goooood)
Sanford and son brought me here.
What was that one episode where Joleo brought fred and Lamont out for dinner and Fred said bring me some more of that Ripple,, nd uhmm hold the garbage hahahaa
+Ricky Bias "Pops and Pals" season 2
@King Zartan But Fred also says in that scene that sangria "tastes like Ripple that's gone flat. In fact they should call it Flapple"
Night train!
and this time the G stands for Gallo! haha
Fred G Sanford. And the G is for Greatness
All hail Fred G. Sanford!
One of the great emetic wines. Found my way here because the brand name has been recycled as a non-dairy "milk".
I bought it solely for that reason. I never got to try the wine being only 46. The milk-like beverage ... wasn't that good.
YOU HEAR THAT ELIZABETH IM COMING TO JOIN YA HONEY!!!!
: )
I watch Sanford & Son every single night before bed.
Us high class kids preferred Lancers Rose in those weird brown bottles or Mateus in those weird squashed bottles
Fred:hey grady i gotta new 🍸 ill put champagne and ripple together..call it..CHAMPIPPLE
HA! There is is, the top ten of the top buck wino wines!!! Good going!
I'm back Lt. Dan...I got you'r Ripple
When I was a kid, my folks drank Ripple. It was less than a buck at the local store. I remember to this day taking a sip of it and the taste. Never had it after that.
I bet after a glass of that...you would think its winking at you
Peppermint schnapps and ripple, call it mint jipple.
Champagne and Ripple……call it “Champipple” 🤣
And, of course Night Train!
it's the only wine that doubles as radiator coolant
I'll take Ripple mixed with Jagermeister and call it Yipple!
Thunderbird!!! Delicious when combined with a purple-pack of kool-aid!
I want some champple!
1972. Eight years old. First time I ever heard of Ripple was off the lips of Fred Sanford. I always thought it was some kind of a joke, a made up drink. Now I have to buy some.
Do they still make Ripple? I always heard Fred Sanford talk about it on Sanford and Son, is this the same ripple?
The drink that winks back at you...hee hee
WPLJ, Thunderbird, Golden Spur (in the big square bottle) How could I have forgotten about Ripple! Thanks!
The classic 1960/70's cheap high ,and worst hangovers ever ,but the cold toilet bowl on your forehead felt good.
0:12 Marie Antoinette drinking Fred Sanford's favorite bum wine.
For lively people 😂 is that what we are calling it
I'm going to heaven Lt. Dan. Oh really, well on your way there why you stop at corner store and get us another bottle of ripple
The good old 60's cheap bum wines, I remember T-Bird, Ariba, Silver Satin, MD20/20
Cisco, NightTrain. Hot summer days and a cool bottle of .50 cent wine!
And Boones Farm apple or strawberry.
XRP BROUGHT ME HERE
I think Peppermint Schnapps and Ripple mixed together should be a PepperSchnipple.
Ripple and champagne go together well. It’s called Champipple.
The official reason why Dr. Hibbert was born. Without ripple, his dad never would've had him. Ripple is his real daddy.
I've gone mad trying to approximate Ripple: grain alcohol, grape juice concentrate, soda water, and a heaping amount of self-loathing...
-What's with the Marie Antoinette-haired chick?
Those were the days.
Ahh, Ripple and turkey with Ellie Mae 😅
Love me some Pagan Pink....mixed with some Colt 45 for a round of Sneeky Pete's!!
How do I describe the taste? It wasn`t too bad. Kinda like a semi-carbonated fruit punch. There probably was a high sugar content too. It tasted a hell of a lot better than T-Bird. Fred G Sanford. would mix some Champagne and Ripple together and call it Champipple
The Ripple company should've compensated Redd Foxx big time as much as he made reference to it
just had a riiple cause of watching this advert
Cigarettes can kill but Ripple can cripple
From the cellars of Fred G. Sanford....
haha! omg (Bigman) i thought about that too! (Sanford n Son)
ripple is back in cryptocoins form xD
Bum wine! 🤣🤣🤣
Helped with his Arthur-ritus
Fred Sanford brought me here
Me & Fred G. Sanford mix our Ripple with Champagne & call it "Champipple". =^)
Cold duck
I wonder if the viticultural France has an equivalent low-cost equivalent to Ripple
Champagne + ripple = champipple =)
Wow
Ring a ding rotgut flavor!
"barnyard" is actually considered a good quality in many high-end burgundys.
@tomcalif1 and Harlem... and much of DC... and East St. Louis... heck, even Katrinaville(N'yawlinz)!
"... you drink ripple wine in the afternoon..." 'Loser' by Bob Lind
LOL.....Ripple.
I like Cream Soda with my Ripple. Mix them together, call it Cripple.
@GypsyFairy85 no, it disappeared with the demise of the Sanford and Son tv show.
