You just sealed this purchase for me, thank you for posting this video. I've got a 5th gen too and was specifically curious about whether the hatch would open. Thanks again!
I was checking out the Chuck Rack and almost sold on the Chuck Rack, but my Turbo Vado and soon Turbo Levo have a TCD center stem mounted .... luckily in my search your channel popped up. Looks like this would handle the Specialized Turbo Vado and Levo easily. I won't have a 4 Runner but currently looking at a 2024 Tacoma or 2024 Sante Fe and this would go perfect. If you get a sponsor link I'll click in from your channel when I to order this. Great information and ya got a sub from me.
Probably should mention that your garage door opening is not standard for all homes. Velocirax also sells a 2" drop hitch that could maybe solve that garage door clearance issue (depending on vehicle).
Good vid, i just picked up the same 5 bikes rack, and am looking forward to using it, I’m hoping the tailgate on my tacoma won’t hit it. I got tired of putting bikes in the bed of the truck and trying to find room for the gear also
I’m looking at one of these. Could you tell me the measurement from the hitch pin to the end of the rack(pivoting corner). I’m trying to see how far it sticks out from the hitch receiver not including the wheel holders. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the details! Does the bike rack block any part of the tail light on your 4 runner? Just wondering because I'd like to use the 5x on a Telluride. Thanks again!!
Yo Alex, thanks for watching! When the rack is empty that bottom crossbar sits well below the taillights so the short answer is no. Once loaded though it would depend on size and kind of bike you have on the outsides. For me personally it’s a total non-issue.
Do you have any concern about side load on the front wheel? I wonder if there is an excessive amount of stress on the front wheel because it sits at an angle. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
This is a very legit question and I wonder if velocirax has any data? Anyway, for me, I’ve definitely thought about it but it doesn’t concern me. Once you cinch the bottom wheel strap it most definitely relieves some of that stress/load. I go down some roads that would rattle the teeth out of your mouth and I haven’t had any issues. Great question, lame answer, but that’s how I feel about it: no problem.
Funny you say that because I want to put a leveling kit on it and I don’t think I’ll fit in my garage with bikes on! I can’t imagine bottoming out on a steep driveway (mine is actually pretty steep but I’ll look for an awkward situation tomorrow and take a picture for you if I can find one.

Glad I could help DV! Sometimes it’s the simplest things that are so important. You’re very welcome. ✌️
Good video, appreciate the detail on clearances. Thanks!
Right on Carlos. Thanks for that 🤙

I had the same issue with my F150…once you get the bikes on the tailgate there is hardly enough room for a small cooler.

Darn, I have mine loaded up but in the storage configuration. Will take me some time and effort to figure that out for you.
Same setup, love it !!.
Great review, thanks all the info.
Thanks for taking time to comment Matthew! 🤙

@@RinkVideo Ok great! Thanks a lot for tho information! And awesome video!
Thanks for the video. I'm looking this rack. To you think 5x is too wide for a tacoma? Why did you choose the 5x over the normal 5.
Hey Nicolas. I got the 5X because I predominantly have mountain bikes on it and I think the regular spacing would be way too tight.
@@RinkVideo Thanks. I'll go with the 5x

Hi Rink,
Does your 4 runner have stock suspensions? Have you ever scrapped the rack when pulling into steep driveways?

Great review. Also I can tell your Canadian as fuck.
Lolololol…frickin rights eh bud? 👊 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Appreciate it! ✌️
inch inch inch rest of the world metric metric metric
Thick accent lol
Will it fit 16 inch and 20 inch kids bikes?
I’m not 100% sure on the 16 but 20 for sure.
