Yup, this guy seems to be the only person on the whole of youtube who's forcing the reveal to everyone who sees the thumbnail. Everybody else has at least a bit of common decency. But, there's loser arseholes in the world, and this guy's one of them.
McAllister hates pigeons, we found that out in S06 EP02 when he saves Jane's life. That's why Jane used a pigeon, he knew Red John was McAllister and would be afraid of it.
The pigeon showed that Jane knew that McAllister was Red John before he revealed himself to Jane, while everyone else thought it was Bertrem. If you go back to episode 6x03, McAllister saves Jane's life and then is startled by a pigeon and says, "I didn't see that coming, i hate them."
I know this is old but Patrick said he knew after the bomb and it was a mistake. 3 of the suspects had the tattoo. 1 of them was "dead" and he knew Red John set off the bomb and would have faked his death so it was the 1 of the 3 that was dead. McAllister. He definitely knew.
+Keyshell That would be true... if it weren't for RJ being portrayed as an almost omnipotent being before his identity was revealed; not to mention all the unanswered questions and loose ends. At the end of the day the ending of the RJ case/storyline was neither epic nor realistic, just extremely underwhelming.
aeoncz That was the point. The point was to portray him as this allpowerful being who could do anything he wanted, and then to shatter that illusion and make you realize he's just some guy who's smarter than most other guys.
Keyshell But that failed, spectacularly at that. Because of the divisive behavior and actions of RJ the serial killer and Thomas McAllister the sloppy dork, as well as the fact that half of the things he did or knew were never fully explained, or in some cases not at all. With the way he was portrayed throughout the series, he wasn't just a man. He was frighteningly brilliant, almost all-knowing and while he was somewhat overconfident, he had every reason to be. The unmasked McAllister was a cocky, careless, unprepared and frankly laughable run-of-the-mill villain nowhere near Jane's brilliance and cunning. It was absolutely anticlimactic and didn't make any sense whatsoever.
I quite like this scene because in it, Jane finally gets the upper hand on Red John. Throughout the seasons, with the help of his cronies, Red John is able to stay one step ahead of Jane, cover his tracks, and tie up loose ends. Without the Blake Association, Red John would've probably been caught years ago. Jane probably suspected McAllister was Red John and thus brought the pidgin. Remember the scene where McAllister saves Jane from the church roof and then declares he hates pidgins? Anyway, the reason why Red John approached Jane when he asked him if he could show him something was because Red John thought he had won. Jane, as far as Red John knew, didn't have a gun. He was at the mercy of Red John's barrel so why not humour a dead man? Red John was so blinded by his arrogance to be cautious. He wanted to gloat over his victory over Jane and he mistook Jane for being harmless. Big mistake. Finally, after five seasons Jane gets the upper hand. In such a humiliating moment, Red John made the mistake of thinking the game was over before the final buzzer sounded. The evil master-mind is defeated due to his own narcissism. Arrogance kills. (Remember, Jane's family got killed due to Jane's arrogance.) As for begging for mercy, all villains try to beg for mercy so they can turn around and stab their foe in the back. It's Red John's last-ditch effort to regain control of the situation and kill Jane. Jane, however, isn't having any of it.
Interesting theory but I didnt liked the end. Why would Red John, the evil mastermind beg for mercy? Remember the last episode of the third seasons? The (not real) Red John said on the phone:“ what a pizzy, sometimes you win sometimes you lose“. In my opinion it would have been 10 times better if he would have said something could like that
@@eliash2624 Because he wasn't an evil mastermind. He was just a perverted, sexually depraved killer who exploited the vulnerabilities of corruptible people to recruit their aid while he continued his twisted sadistic rampage of murder. His narcissism compelled him to play this "game" with Jane, wanting to break Jane...salivating over the thought of gloating and taunting Jane towards his final moments. That's why he didn't fear Jane as he thought he finally broke Jane entirely and had his gun trained on Jane, knowing Jane is not adept at hand to hand combat. And he begged for his life because for all his bravado about meting out death and judgment, RJ was just a coward who enjoyed getting the upper hand on his victims.
Sorry, I was wrong...it's possible. I saw Home Alone 2 and at the end, Marv' had a pigeon in his pocket So, it is possible, we can have a pigeon in our pocket....
I think it's not possible. Why?? Jane was controlled by the young killer named Oscar before he entered the church. Oscar has found the gun but he didn't found the pigeon. Really??
I had a boss who was that way.. Nothing ever was her fault. Sometimes I just watched her in amazement.. I mean how the fuck can you not see that you've created this whole mess.. the degree of disconnect from reality was astounding...
Looking back, what should’ve tipped us all off was what Rosalind said about him. He smelled of pine. Who else but the Napa Valley sheriff who likes hunting would routinely smell of the outdoors. The rest of the Red John suspects were indoor suit types.
Oh my god . . . its a super pigeon! his a super intelligent pigeon who hunts evil! DC I hope your taking notes. I demand a team up with Dex-starr the Red lantern house cat.
It's some sort of sickness or phobia. Like how Heffner was scared of Spiders. It happens and it's perfectly natural. I think that's meant to point out that Red John was just a mere human being, although a very intelligent one he still had weaknesses like normal people do. I think the bird option fits perfectly here. And for those saying how he didn't notice the bulge in Jane's jacket, have you watched the whole show? Throughout the series it was being plastered in our face how good Jane is as a showman and he was a master at distracting and manipulating people. It was always a game to win between him and Red John, stakes were very high but it was a game about who is more clever and in the end Jane won. My only questions are: 1. How did Red John know about the list 2 months before Jane told anyone? 2. How did Jane know McAllister was Red John and that he didn't die in the explosion? I know part of it is explained by Jane but I still feel there's more to it. If you have any ideas or facts about this I'd love to hear it. Love this show, my all time favourite that's for sure.
TheIcey One it's just to disguise his voice. But it was the only voice the audience had ever heard Red John use. So it was a way for the writers to say "this really is Red John"
0:37 I knew this actor from his role as Percy, a major villain from Nikita. To hear him conjure up the Red John voice was so freaky I jumped. Biiiiig mistake to watch this episode at 3AM. I just keep imagining THAT romancing that poor ginger blind girl from season 2. Jeez.....I am disturbed.
I'm getting really annoyed with people saying Tom Mccalister was a horrible choice for Red John. Everyone who says that doesn't know shit about television. He was a local sheriff in a small town. That is a brilliant cover. Nobody not even Jane would have suspected a sheriff. It doesn't matter that he's old. Most serial killers on television who are most clever and the most deranged tend to be older. Bruno Heller did a fine job selecting Thomas Mcallister as Red John. Xander Berkley did an amazing job.
You have no idea of what youre talking about. Of course Xander made a good job, but Heller didn't. There's no coherence with the other 5 seasons. There's a lot of clues with no answer. 1- The "He is ma" clue. 2- you really think that mcallister can seduce lorelei and all the other women? 3- what's up with kristina frye? 4- How did RJ get the names on the list? 5- Roll tide? 6 - rock, paper & scissors... and more. I'm not saying Sheriff macallister is bad a RJ, I like it, but Heller didn't resolve it in the good way. For the people who watch de show casually, it's great. For the fans, who have been thinking theories about RJ for five years, it's a holly shit. Sorry about my english, im spanish. Salud!
MusicToSmile Bruno Heller wasn't ever gonna answer every single clue that was layed out about Red John. Some of it was just left for the fans to ponder. His whole intention was to just finally reveal red john's identity. I watch tv shows every day of my life. I know exactly what i'm talking about. I watch several shows that deal with serial killers. I could argue all day. This was always Bruno Heller's story and fans who criticize his choices of Red John are immature and know nothing about television.
MusicToSmile Mcallister was an evil, psychotic, sociopath and he preyed on people's vulnerabilites for years. He definitely would of had the power to seduce Loreli but I think he had more of a father-daughter relationship with her. She clearly admired him until she learned the truth about her sister. Some of those clues up there were never gonna be resolved. Heller can't resolve every single breadcrumb he placed in the show. If you've watched the show then you know what happened with kristina frye. Mcallister was the best choice out of all the suspects to be Red John. Most of the suspects would have been too obvious to be Red John. All the other suspects had to report to someone in their field. Thomas mcallister was his own boss. He was the local sheriff of Napa, california. Perfect choice for Red John. I say fuck everyone who thinks Bruno Heller did a bad choice of selecting Red John.
The issue is that he should have been in it far more often to have that reveal. I couldn't even remember who the fuck he was supposed to be, and after all the build-up and insinuations that RJ was somehow connected to Visualise... that went absolutely nowhere.
Fun fact: Me and my Dad met Xander Berkley at a convention once and we asked him when he found out he was going to be Red John. He said it was around the time of them filming the episode where Jane gathers the final 5 suspects at his house- not sure where that would be in their shooting schedule, if he shot earlier episodes after finding that out or not, but either way I thought that was interesting! He was very nice, and seemed to appreciate the fact we asked him about The Mentalist specifically too.
Bruno Heller, the creator and executive producer of The Mentalist, after S06E08 was aired, in an interview: "And it’s real and honest and visceral. How that last scene between the two of them went was very much written and directed by Simon . The emotion that he brought to that, with all that pressure and with all of the story that’s gone by and all of the baggage, he did a really beautiful, intimate killing there. It’s hard but good to watch, I think. "
Here's the translation of your text into English: McAlister is Red John, I am truly disappointed, there is so much I want to explain, but here’s the point: 1. How can a terrifying and intelligent serial killer like Red John be "afraid of dying" and "regretful of killing" when questioned by Patrick? 2. How can a victim whose wife and child were murdered, like Patrick Jane, still be "afraid of going to prison" and "try to escape"? That’s why the fake Red John episode in season 3 was such a great scene (if you’ve ever seen the movie Se7en, that had a better ending). Okay, the details were built up so much that they ended up conflicting with the facts. Let me explain: 1. Red John is actually "short." I forget which season it was when "ROY" returned to the woman who played the piano, and he also wore a suit (my guess at the time was Kirkman or Cho). 2. Lorelei said "Red John is similar to Patrick," whereas McAlister does not resemble Patrick's personality. 3. This is the part I am most CONFUSED about: Red John in all his actions used a "knife/dagger." So why, when he came to Patrick, did he bring a gun? (This raises the question of whether all the victims were killed by Red John or by different people posing as Red John). 4. Red John was identified because of a tattoo. This tattoo information could be obtained from a woman who was hired. Red John hired that woman to spy on the CBI. Seriously, is John that stupid????? If he wanted to spy on the CBI, he could have used Bertam, considering his WIDE CONNECTIONS AND POWER. 5. If Red John wanted to kill Patrick, it would be very easy given his power and connections. So why did he let Patrick live, and even when they met, Red John was afraid of dying, like I mentioned in point 1. Those are the details I remember (I’ll edit this if I forget something). My point is that Fake Red John (Timothy Carter) was actually a great choice if he was the real Red John, because his "AURA IS VERY EVIL" and his face and expressions were perfect for it.
Well, he actually was in just one episode during the first five season. Then in another four episodes in season six (which make five in total). But don't get me wrong. In my opinion he was great choice. Although I would have liked it, if he had like one or two more appearances during the first five seasons, but on the other hand I find it logical, that Red John did not try to be near Patrick in his "real life". Also when we got the list of suspects, I expected him, since his job (some connections, and enough free time) fitted perfectly. Also his outer appearance and age fitted very well to me. But of course other suspicions (like Bertram and Haffner) could have been likely enough as well.
Couldn't agree more. I was very disappointed by it, I've only just marathonned the whole series in two months and I couldn't even remember the episode he was in! I was really hoping that it was either going to be Bret Stiles (not least because Malcolm McDowell is such a fantastic actor he could have sold the shit out of it, even though part of me is quite pleased that Bret seemed to be not such a bad guy after all) or one of his minions (Picardo or that CBI bloke) in his religious cult. That whole plot went nowhere as well. I never really thought Bertram was a good fit for it, but while Xander Berkeley is a good actor he should have been in it far more often to have him turn out to be RJ. Such a cop out.
in reality the actor didnt knew shit he is red john and was surprised when the creator told him years later. and it doesnt really make sence. you dont build your show season after season you know your plan and where youre heading. this was just a mess
Yeah RJ did it deliberately you stupid fuck, if he matched Jane in intellect it would more than tip him off to realise this nobody sheriff is basically just as clever.
@@AlbanianSunN Breaking Bad planned to kill off Jesse but rewrote it to keep him alive meanwhile How I Met Your Mother had the ending already planned out and rewrote the ending to please the fans that shipped Ted and Robin but they were too late and wrote themselves into a corner

Red john: you cant imagine anyone smarter than you. Thats why i've been ahead of you all these years. Also red john: Patrick: can i show you something? Red john: sure😊
Damn that scene is SO stupid. He had a gun, but OF cOURSE he had to get 2 feet from distance from Jane. And Jane had fu---ng PIGEONS in his pockets, lmao wtf, why not a gun? Dumb, dumb, dumb.
@@raghuramsola6599 I was talking about Red John obviously. But regarding Jane, he could hide pigeons in his pockets, but not a gun or a taser or pepper spray? Sure....
I am not a fan of the Red John choice as many, but there are two things in this scene that are great. One is the music (very beautiful and fitting) and the other is Simon Baker's great acting, as usual. How he stands and listens attentively, trying not to give away his anger, staying close to the gun he hid, and preparing for a possible opening to strike. Terrific job.
This is the best take here because it's honest. You're not trying to fanboy-like it because everyone else does. Good man. I don't like it and I'm quite proud of not liking the Red John reveal. It was like waking up in the morning expecting French Toast eggs and sausage from the wafting aroma but you get down stairs and it's...cereal. This ending was cereal.
@@saquist Haha thanks, that's exactly how I felt though I couldn't explain the feeling as well as you did. However, not sure about this comment page, but it is actually a fairly common reaction, I've read a lot of people feeling underwhelmed by the reveal.
All of red john’s disciples adored him, the sheriff wasn’t even likable, I thought the best plot twist would’ve been Walter Mashburn walking into the chapel, he was charismatic and wealthy enough to fund the Blake association
4:13 Most satisfying moment in the whole series :) I think it basically shows what kind of nature serial killers actually have. They seem to be dreadful with mighty power and violence. But the fact is, given actual serial killers in real life, they are as cowards as little lambs and their minds are full of self-loathing in that regard. That's why they try fullfil such complex of theirs by killing others vulnerable and seeing people shudder while they are hiding in the darkness.
you are aware that Jane got into contact with the CBI by himself, right? I rather have an underwhelming antagonist than one based on a huge coincident just for the sake of a tryhard twist
He appeared and played Rock Paper Scissors with Patrick on the SECOND EPISODE OF THE SERIES OVERALL. Tell me if that isn't symbolic and enough for somebody that was as smart as Jane.
Now, I haven't seen a single person say anything about this so I might be the first one...., If you watch the entire series from S1E1 to S6E8 You'll notice that Patrick and McCallister never even once shook hands..., Atleast not onscreen. So either they shook hands offscreen or the creators messed up with the whole "S5E8 Lorelei reveals secret" part. There is no possibility that there is another red john because McCallister confirmed that he was red john by changing his voice that was the exact match. (Except obviously the organization created a voice synthesizer based on McCallister's other voice and hence someone else can be red john)
The list of suspects comes down to Red John having a similar level of intelligence and memory to Patrick Jane. He sees everything and tracks everyone through the Blake Association, he'll know who Jane has shaken hands with and who the likely living suspects are.
Can't be that. Jane could've met plenty other people by himself like he does almost every single episode. Like he goes to a hospital, let's assume he shook hands with ALL the doctors and patients there? Several times he's by himself, and even if someone was following him the entire time - which is EXTREMELY unlikely to happen without Jane noticing it - they would not have all the names of the people he was meeting. This was something the writers did to, again, put RJ in a demigod level, just to make him the dumbest and most pathetic criminal of the show so far. First he almost screams to Jane his name was indeed between those 7 names instead of misleading him in any possible way (and there were many, many ways); then goes to Jane's house with a bomb, even when he doesn't know if Jane was trying to kill all of them for some reason (what stood in the way of Jane blowing up a bomb and killing them all? Or even Styles or Raffner having a way to pull a stunt to kill everybody there, etc) and then finally the last showdown where there's no way in hell a meticulous, almost godlike being like RJ would be alone with Jane in a room without no one making sure he's secure at all times. He'd never be the one with the gun pointed to Jane, this was just absurd and poorly written. Also, is RJ that smart really? Because this show seems to go in the opposite way of the advice "show, don't tell". They just tell us RJ is this almost deity entity and he performs stuff that are almost unbelievable for 5 seasons only for him to be just an average SOB in the end. Regrettable ending to such a well built show.
To the people commenting about Red John changing his voice: Actually, Simon Baker said that it was him doing Red john's voice since the beggining!! It's not Xander Berkeley =) (i kinda feel fooled)
They should have made McAllister the "fake" Red John in season 3 and change this scene with the scene of the season 3 finale with Bradley Whitford. He was way better as Red John. He at least didn't run.
+Pacinolegend1908 Psycologically speaking it makes sense that serial killer runned. Behind their rough extraversion they are cowards inside. It's actually a good choice for the show.
AMEN to that!!! Bradley Whitford as Red John was the BEST! For me he will always be RED JOHN. You are so right the real Red John would have never tried to runaway, he would have fought until his last breath.
This scene is kind of a mixed bag. As far as acting goes, it's pretty much flawless. Simon Baker delivers a great performance, as always, and I have no problem believing Xander Berkely is Red John. He plays the role of a calm and calculating psychopath perfectly, and yet there's a hint of madness in his eyes that's so appropriate for the character. But when it comes to writing, well. . . it was going fine until the stupid gun bit. I mean, come on. You're seriously telling me Red John wouldn't have searched the chapel before Jane arrived? This guy's supposed to be incredibly clever, and he's been one step ahead of Jane for the whole series, but in the end he's dumb enough to not only let his enemy choose their place of meeting, but it doesn't even occur to him to look for traps? From that point on, it only gets stupider until Red John's death scene, which was actually pretty cool. But even then: the admittedly interesting idea that Red John was a coward the whole time could have been better executed.
Not entirely true. He let jane choose the place of the meeting and didn't search for a trap because he thought he had jane in a trap which turns to be quite the opposite! And that's the best of the scene, Jane turning the table!.
Moath Natour That doesn't fit with what we learned about Red John throughout the series though. He's supposed to be a cautious killer. One of the first things we hear about him is "He would never risk capture just to taunt (Jane)." In the season four finale he didn't even show up to the meeting with Jane because he knew he might try something, and that was in a place Red John himself had chosen. I get what you're saying about Jane turning the table, and that is a really cool idea, but the way they executed it was very inconsistent . It would have made more sense if that gun was decoy meant to lure Red John into a false sense of security. Then when he reveals that he found it, Jane could spring his REAL trap. That would show Jane finally winning the battle of wits, but without diminishing Red John's intelligence after they spent the whole series building it up.
Barry Gormley The reason is because the gag is up, he's like the last of the list and had to kill Jane. If he want to end Jane, he definitely will do it himself. Not searching the church is because he's complacent already, he expect Jane to be trapped like he's always 2 steps in front.
+Barry Gormley totally agree, i was so pissed off seeing this... also I dont understand why RedJohn gets killed off seconds after his reveal. I would have liked to see him alive for some more episodes, while everyone knew who he was.
Kyubo7 that will be very difficult. He is very influential despite being a serial killer. I don't think even a trial get him to be hanged. We won't get to see Simon's fantastic acting when he choke him either.
I knew it was him the moment re john told Jane his list's names: he listed every name without mentioning their jobs or their charge, except for Thomas McAllister. For him he said " Sheriff Thomas McAllister". He was a megalomaniac even in these small details
I think about this series from time to time, and I still think the choice for Red John works so well because it's clear from this scene that the whole "small town sheriff" persona really was just an act. The sheriff was such a cartoonish stereotype that it's actually genius that RJ would turn out to be this guy, nobody could take him seriously as a suspect (or character) to begin with.
@@nikparmar1173yeah it should have been Brett Partridge. The forensic investigator from S1 E1. Jane called him a ghoul and always looked down on him. It would have been a far better fit. The forenaic investigator who "always wanted to see a Red John scene in person" was actually Red John all along. It would have been brilliant.
@@sindri1447That would have been too obvious on Red John's part. Like Patrick said earlier in the series (at his trial after killing Timothy Carter) the face he projects to others is just a mask, so why would he pretend to be such an obviously suspicious "ghoul?"
@@alecjones4676 I of course disagree. I think Brett would have been perfect. His projected persona as Brett Partridge would have been his mask. Of course he truly would have been nothing like the guy Jane always saw him as. As you said. It's just a mask.
Im just rewatching The Mentalist for the first time since I originally saw it. I remember being a bit disappointed with the choice for Red John, but rewatching it and knowing who Red John was before the big reveal.. I think I actually enjoyed it more the second time around.
I think the main problem with Red John will always be that they had no idea who Red John was. For so long he was simply an idea that had no real form. They never stopped to ask who Red John was until the very end I think McAllister was the best choice out of the options they came up with, but I would have written the confrontation scene differently. There’s a lot they did well like the end where he begs for mercy or when he gets mad at Jane for insulting him again. I would have gone for something more like the Tommy/Thomas change and have him truly embody the idea and history of Red John, only to have it torn away in the end I think they tried to do this with the voice, but it’s so short and they spend so much time on the idea that “in the end they’re both nobody”. There’s just not enough time to really link the two characters together
You are exactly correct. They had no idea who Red John could have been when they wrote the build up. That's JJ Abrams style of writing...you have a mystery box but by then time you get to the end...you have no idea what's in the box. because it wasn't planned out in the first place. It's lazy writing.
@@gray3984yeah, super frustrating. RJ even gives PJ the space to ask questions and PJ is like "I have no questions". I was screaming to the TV: BUT I DO MF, AND YOU BETTER ASK THEM 😂
Red John: Very good. Your hindsight is 20/20 (Jane distracts RJ with hidden pigeon because he knew McAllister was RJ. Then he pulls gun that he had hidden under the pew because he knew this is where he would be.) Patrick Jane: Yeah, my foresight is pretty fucking good too.

One of the most satisfying moments in TV!! When he was crawling and begging for life. Perfect scene. Fear in his eyes and fast change from beast to frightened wounded man.
That sort of is what ruins it though, to be RJ he had to be truly psychopathic, so he wouldn't have felt those emotions, even at the last he would have been trying to manipulate. Not running away and cowering.
@@gmarz9611well tbh he didn’t react that badly, sure he was worried but I mean, come on, he’d built an empire for over 20 years and he lost it to a momentary lapse of judgement. Upto season 4 I thought that Patrick himself was Red John with multiple personality disorder. I mean the way rj was portrayed throughout, the only person that could match his smartness and reading abilities from the series, is himself. So it seemed logical and a great, massive plot twist!
I could never have imagined it could be him!!! But there are sooo many questions left unanswered... In six years, I know it must be hard to put all the clues together, but I have the sense that this revelation is a bit of a mess. Yet, the church scene is really a good choice, it brings a mystic and gothic atmosphere. Now, what's next?!
Yeah! I feel at the same way...I never imagined RJ could be him either. I expected a more charismatic guy, just like Brett Stiles or someone like him. If i was a writer i ´ve done a more awesome RJ´s choice, more epic scene and showed the team´s reaction to the RJ´s revelation. Well, is done and the next has to be Jisbon and i hope that Bruno Heller don´t mess with all fans:))
***** Yeah but that is a point of being a criminal. You don't have to be a super-smooth handsome guy to be one. It could be anyone from a overweight short guy to an old man.
It is very logical for it to be him, rather simple really, the list of 7 trick was easy too and Jane ought have known it was him straight away, of course he knew it might have been him but he did not know 100% for a while. Still, amazing show and it tricked me a few times too.
It was the best ending to Red John ever! Jane knew that he was Red John because of the bomb mistake where McAllister faked his death and the truth is always the opposite as mentioned by Jane in this episode. Stiles and Haffner could also be Red John because they died but they didn't have the 3 dots tattoo so it was CLEAR to Jane who was Red John. Director did a great job choosing McAllister as Red John although many might disagree because of his absence in many episodes. However, if the director chose any other people on that list who we are familiar with, we would have say we knew it and it will not be as big of a surprise as this finish. Well played! 😁
Maybe surprise is less important than coherence for a lot of people? lol I spent the 5 entire seasons praying that RJ wouldn't be "just a random guy" because it'd be such a letdown. It's like you're writing a Tarantino movie but in the end who does all the killing is a random person that made 1 quick appearance in the beginning. Not worth it. Not deserved. Poorly written. However, the choice itself was not the biggest letdown, but the absolute lack of explanation whatsoever about his backstory. No, let's just say RJ is this guy and then have Jane killing him minutes after finding out and that's it, let's move on with the "killer of the week" theme for the 120th time and let's forget about the association or RJ or anything. Brilliant, really!
I figured out how Red John got the names. In my theory Partridge, being an inside man for Red John, broke in and got the list of suspects. Now two recordings with the message must have been switched, one of them being doctored. I believe Red John claimed he was physic just to extend his own life.
I like it too. Jane getting his revenge had always been the intention from the first episode. I am glad he got his wish and realised that it did not bring him peace as he had hoped it would.
Despite the fact that the Whole ending of the red John Saga was quite Bad i Really like how Mc allister suddenly appears in a totally different way. Different voice modulation, mimic, gestures and appearence. No more Messing around as in the role of a simple sheriff
Found this reveal interesting on so many levels. All the "sins" that McAllister accuses Jane of, he's more guilty of. But because of McAllister's own arrogance (that he can't believe Jane could be smarter than him) he can't see that Patrick has figured it out. Jane has also learned from his pride, McAllister didn't. So interesting.
Epic Scene! So Jane remembered that MAC Allister was scared of pigeons. Excellent. Perhaps Jane thought he was not killed in explosion. One hidden clue early on in the series was during the episode where Jane was trying to absolve an alleged murdering prisoner who happened to know who Red John was and would relay that priceless piece of info to Jane if he could prove his innocence. Upon his release that guy hid out in Mexico and was found murdered obviously by Red John. In the end of that scene there written in blood is, HE IS MA , unfinished with what looked like a C after the MA. Not clear at the time.
"Remembered", yeah from a few episodes ago... It was so unfitting for Red John's character to take the bread crumbs. Just shoot Jane. He spared his life enough. Completely inorganic ending. Also his name is spelled McAllister not Macallister.
@@nossenkanteralso: why not having someone with a gun inside instead of only outside? Why getting so close to Jane instead of keeping a safe distance? Why exposing himself so much and making ALL THE WRONG CHOICES? People can say whatever they want, for me this was the most anticlimatic ending since Lost. So much lore, so much hype, for what? Nothing. "Oh he's nobody", no, he is freakin Red John and this ending just goes to show that most times such hype is built, the payoff isn't 10% worth the wait.
After Renfrew was killed it became clear to me Red John's real power was in his connections, so much so that if it weren't for the murder of Jane's family, I would have assumed there was no single Red John, but rather an entire group using the name. I can't blame people for wanting a showdown as epic as Greek Mythology, but lining up RJ with every caught serial killer or fallen cult leader and somehow, it's just about right. I was also thrilled with who they chose for the role. The first time he showed up I said "one episode? What a total waste of Xander Berkeley!" I was tickled pink (or red) they brought him back, and as the main villain no less!
I hate that argument though. They wrote the character as being incredibly smart and capable. He should be beaten in that state. Not just that it's the viewers fault for wanting something epic, the way they wrote the character demanded more than this to beat him. Also as far as connections, a lot of that is due to his charisma and planning too; he even created the Blake Association effectively.
@@nossenkanter Exactly. McAllister lacks the charisma, the intellect, etc, The whole argument for him being RJ is that he's totally not up to the job, so forgettable almost no one remembered him when he was brought back and the writers had to insert his title (sheriff) into the suspect list. The whole choice went against TM's strength -- multi-season buildup. Any other suspect really would've made a better RJ and people would've said, oh that makes total sense.
@@nossenkanterYeah I hate this argument too. And about OP comment: I would be SO MUCH MORE SATISFIED if only they revealed Red John as a group. At first, I thought all 7 were somehow RJ, it'd be a good way to explain how he seems to be aware of everything, all of the time and almost omnipresent since he kills people ridiculously quickly after some discovery about him happens or is about to happen. However, they lacked the creativity to do it or just to put it on Styles who was the only one of the 7 with the right profile to be everything they sold as RJ. No, let's choose that dumb Sheriff guy from season 1 who lost at rock paper scissors to Jane and make people wondered about woww, he was a character, he was testing Jane, blablabla when we know it was a last minute desperate call because they got lost into their own lore and hype. Such a regrettable way to finish an otherwise amazing show. A bit repetitive? Yes. That's why after 6x08 I was absolutely done with it.
You hate the argument because you believe Red John was depicted as a genius. I don't believe he actually was portrayed that way--not really. He's actually pretty sloppy more than once, almost gets caught several times over, preys mostly on vulnerable women and children. What he gets away with is predominantly if not wholly due to his connections. Being a cult leader does indicate talent and intelligence -- but not exactly in the way people think. The unkillable God, the self-sufficient mega-genius, the force of primal nature? It's an illusion, it was always an illusion--that's what cult leaders do. In the end they fall, frail and pathetic. I mean what ending would have been better? A Harry Potter giant chess board? A harpoon through a whale's heart? What do people imagine they wanted in the final showdown? Why were they expecting fireworks when the first fake Red John died so simply? When Jane himself made it so clear throughout the entire show that there is no such thing as magic, and that his abilities while incredible, didn't make him infallible or all-knowing? I got exactly what I wanted in this ending --it was simple, and brutal, and intimate. Red John didn't deserve a firework show.
Sometimes I come back to this video and I hope it can give me what a proper ending should give. But it upsets me every time. I appreciate the choice of this character as Red John, because it must be "humble" in his profession, as Patrick is, but... it just happened too fast
I thought it would have been cool if Patrick's dad was Red John. I remember the episode where they were in a carnival and the dad wanted to steal money from this poor girl who was sick. It would have made sense because they met AND his dad would be at the same level as Patrick Jane. McAllister was stupid. I'm sorry, but I just don't believe he is Red John. Guy at the end of season 3 was better.
John Doe ...you know it's a good idea if you think about it! Even though he wasn't on the list (I was hoping Red John was smart enough lead Patrick into a wrong list). I don't know, what did you think?
Couldn't agree more. Wanted a Red John twist where it was Alex Jane and Patrick is torn between killing his Dad to avenge his family or, it's his Father and they're still blood and can't kill him. So Lisbon does. And I agree Season Three ending was the best. Red John SHOULD'VE ended there.
Jane was showing Red John that his hindsight wasn't 20/20, he had him pegged from the start that's why he had the pigeon's cause he knew he had a phobia of them.
I don't know what everyone's complaining about. He's menacing, charismatic, confident, intelligent and has a powerful presence. The only problem was that they introduced him too late and killed him off immediately. It would have been better if they'd revealed McAllister to be Red John sooner and then had him as a recurring antagonist.
I do think that would have been interesting, revealing him a little sooner and dealing with the Blake association fallout more extensively, but I like what we got. It's a little odd, the somewhat uneven way RJ is dealt with, while the relationship between Jane and Lisbon is genuinely one of the most gorgeous, intricate friends-to-lovers stories I have ever seen in a procedural, and especially since the RJ showdown was always a primary concrete concept, but Jane and Lisbon's relationship kindof just sprouted from the ground and grew over everything else. I'm glad for that though; everybody always looks to The Great Red Dragon as the centerpiece of the allegory, but it's The Woman Clothed With The Sun who triumphs. Lisbon was always more important than Red John.
He was introduced in S1E2 and if you mean he wasn't shown enough, well. We saw his RJ persona here and there. And it simply wouldn't make sense for Jane and McAllister to meet more often. Why would they?
@@LightgreenLPfor plot reasons, maybe? Why did Bret Styles had several episodes and frakin Red John couldn't? The lenghts people go to defend poor writing when they like a show. God.
I like Mcallister for RJ but the final confrontation looks rushed, poorly written and shot and not as thrilling as some earlier RJ centered episodes in which we didn't even see him. And what was the point of season 7?
You're right, I would have expected Red John to be put away in the finale, like they did in the Monk series, take out the big bad guy in the end, but The Mentalist went a different way. The point of season 7 was for the people who loved Jane's work and loved the characters, especially Jane and Lisbon. Sadly we didn't get to see much of Grace and Wayne. However, Jane and Lisbon getting married, with her being pregnant. It's a nicer ending for those who cared about Jane than to only see him get his revenge. Who's to assume his life ever went back on track, which it did.
Yeah, you are right. I didn't even recognize RJ when he showed up. That was such a disappointing moment for me. Season 7 was perhaps unnecessary but it was good tho. Maybe it is just me but I always wonder what happens the character. Season 7 made everything clear.
Most psychopaths look for that one person that can challenge them and in a way give what they do some sort of validation and meaning. For them it gets too easy with their victims so they look for that "special" one that can really make the hunt interesting.
You know i a lot of people seem to think that jane was just winging as it went along but he knew exactly what to do and when to do it, he could have shot the henchmen with the gun, he had the element of surprise, but he knew that the real red john would and red john, being the sick fuck that he is, would want to toy with him and that is exactly why he hid the bird, he remenbered it from when they were at the church that rj was terrified of them giving him the opportunity to drop his guard and shoot him down, the only thing that didnt go as planed was that church girl, but other than that he wasnt winging anything
"RAVINGS OF THE SQUALID EGO MANIAC" ohhh.. boy that really got to red john.. it like he felt it inside his ego maniac like an arrow pierces his chest.....
um, not quite. Sophie said that the subject has some sort of phobia but she's not quite sure which exactly. That's why they were suspecting of Mcallister because he didn't want to go up high on things. And when he jumped off scare of the pigeon, it gave a very good indication but it wasn't a sure thing. Also, remember that Ray had a fear of spiders too so he wasn't quite sure
If I learned one lesson in life then it's this: Don't be a comic book villain. You can explain your evil plans and confess all your sins BUT pull the trigger before you do it :P
bruno heler had no clue who red john was gonna be until season 6. He just chose one random guy who had previously only appeared in one episode in season 1!! He had no clue what to do so he ended this storyline as quickly as possible, leaving a lot of plotholes and all the previous clues meant nothing.
I was thinking that because they've been hiding away Red John for all these years, Red John could have got away and came back throughout the rest of the season to haunt Jane, with Jane doing the same to Red John.
"It's totally fair. Game's over and I won" I just realized that was the same voice he used in the season 2 finale when he first saved Patrick Jane. It all comes full circle now. The game is over. No need to hide his identity or change his voice to elude capture. Wowwww.
I, along with others, suspected something was up with Sheriff McAllister on S:1/E:2 when he tried to lure Grace to his car. When he became one of the seven finalists of Red John suspects, I told my mom, that's him! They never tied that scene back to anything. Then when Heller said it was a last minute decision, l just didn't buy it. In a literature course l took in school, my professor told us it doesn't matter what authors say after write it, it's how readers interpret it. l didn't buy it at the time. Now I'm not too sure.
Absolutely last minute decision. And a really bad execution as well. They just had no idea so they chose the first one who came to mind that would be "surprising" and went for it. Just bad.
@@Henrique.Souza0601 » Yes, the idea that a serial killer could be the head of a vast criminal literary organization called the Blake Foundation, made up of police, federal agents, judges and attorneys is absurd. If Red John had just been a serial killer, that would have been fine, but this other garbage is just that. What was Bruno Heller thinking? The decision to make Sheriff McAllister Red John was fine, everything else was fluff. They also should not have drawn it out like they did. Even Jane chasing McAllister down sidewalks and through neighborhoods and parks was lame. It's like the 8mm movies I used to shoot as a kid. Very juvenile shooting and editing.
Sophia told RJ has a phobia (spider and others). Jane knew once RJ was afraid of peigons and he was the only one who survived from the explosion. That way jane already set a gun (when he was alone in church in previous episode) in church and set meeting there (intentionally) with gale bertman. He was so desperate to kill RJ that he consider every possibility. He was sitting on a porch feeding peigons when FBI was chasing him. It shows PJ never gave up no matter how smart RJ was.

this is why I always carry a bird in my pocket
have you heard the word?
Bender Bending Rodriguez well everybody knows that the bird is the word
Don’t forget the seeds/bread crumbs.
I don't understand, why bird ?
McAllister hates pigeons, we found that out in S06 EP02 when he saves Jane's life. That's why Jane used a pigeon, he knew Red John was McAllister and would be afraid of it.
Red John: Tiger, Tiger 🐅
Jane: Bird, Bird 🐦
Hysterical 😁take!
Thanks for the best laugh I’ve had all day
Lmao
I've watched up to season 6 and know who Red John is; I'm really disappointed. If you've ever seen the movie Se7en, it's a revision of this series.
Is this a reference to kung pow betty?
Your clothes are red!
Well noticed!
Yeah, he has a phobia of pigeons. Maybe because they're supposed to be dirty and carry all kinds of diseases.
Yes, but there were at least two other red John suspects who had phobia of whatsoever (one hat a phobia of spiders)
I didn’t notice that until my 2nd go through. The writing was amazing
Very realistic ending. Red John is just a man. He's nobody. Patrick Jane is nobody. They're just men. That's all evil is.
Well that's clearly not what I meant, but that's true.
+Tommy Dynamite LOL
+Keyshell That would be true... if it weren't for RJ being portrayed as an almost omnipotent being before his identity was revealed; not to mention all the unanswered questions and loose ends.
At the end of the day the ending of the RJ case/storyline was neither epic nor realistic, just extremely underwhelming.
aeoncz That was the point. The point was to portray him as this allpowerful being who could do anything he wanted, and then to shatter that illusion and make you realize he's just some guy who's smarter than most other guys.
Keyshell
But that failed, spectacularly at that.
(Remember, Jane's family got killed due to Jane's arrogance.)
As for begging for mercy, all villains try to beg for mercy so they can turn around and stab their foe in the back. It's Red John's last-ditch effort to regain control of the situation and kill Jane. Jane, however, isn't having any of it.
Yep! Jane rocks!
Seaseon ? Cap ? Please
How much time it took you to write it ?
Lol 7 years later
The biggest killer of all time was beaten by a pigeon?????
WTF?????
Sorry, I was wrong...it's possible. I saw Home Alone 2 and at the end, Marv' had a pigeon in his pocket
So, it is possible, we can have a pigeon in our pocket....

I think it's not possible. Why?? Jane was controlled by the young killer named Oscar before he entered the church. Oscar has found the gun but he didn't found the pigeon. Really??
It's magic, don't you understand? Patrick was in the circus since he was a boy. It's not hard to hide a pigeon for him.

Actually Jane started it
Thats his ego getting in the way.
jane: go pidgeot, pidgeot used wings attack: it's super effective!!! enemy red john fainted.
Looking back, what should’ve tipped us all off was what Rosalind said about him. He smelled of pine. Who else but the Napa Valley sheriff who likes hunting would routinely smell of the outdoors. The rest of the Red John suspects were indoor suit types.
That is a brilliant spot. 👍
Yeah, Jane should have caught that.
except in the same episode it's mentioned that he was supposedly building a house with pine wood or whatever.
Pine is a common ingredient of many cosmetic products so it is no distinctive indicator towards McAllister.
So. . . the ultimate evil, the nemesis of Jane, the criminal mastermind who holds hundreds at his sway is defeated . . . by a pigeon.
What I want to know is how did Red John not notice the oversize bulge in his coat..or why the pigeon didn't even move.
Oh my god . . . its a super pigeon! his a super intelligent pigeon who hunts evil! DC I hope your taking notes. I demand a team up with Dex-starr the Red lantern house cat.
Ik this comment is waaaaayyyy old but I agree, dude literally kills people for fun but is scared of a bird🤣🤣🤣
@@rorymayo3332 everyone has some kind of phobia, it makes sense. Also Red John had told he hates pigeons in the church wedding episode.
My only questions are:

TheJandrews456 i dont think its a bad choice, i just want answers.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Xander was in Heat. Banged Pacinos wife
Really a nice experience. Much appreciated..
Wow....thx for the info....I knew it!
Xander was also John Connor's step-dad, Todd, in Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
I used to think Patrick jane had multiple personality disorder and he himself was Red John.
Same here
That's an awesome theory.
OmG that would have been so damn interesting
That would have been very sad , that he kills his own family not a good plot .
OMG IT WOULD'VE BEEN ATROCIOUS
Bruno Heller, the creator and executive producer of The Mentalist, after S06E08 was aired, in an interview: "And it’s real and honest and visceral. How that last scene between the two of them went was very much written and directed by Simon . The emotion that he brought to that, with all that pressure and with all of the story that’s gone by and all of the baggage, he did a really beautiful, intimate killing there. It’s hard but good to watch, I think. "
Here's the translation of your text into English:
McAlister is Red John, I am truly disappointed, there is so much I want to explain, but here’s the point:
Let me explain:

Its been 2 years since this comment was written, did he get to you?
@@buddyowlI guess so
This guy is a good actor, but holy fuck, he only appeared in 2 episodes over the course of 5 seasons. Completely random choice for Red John.
He was in 5 episodes not 2
Well, he actually was in just one episode during the first five season.
I think that was a good thing. He was such a big part of Janes thoughts, even if he couldn't see him
That was my only nit pick about Red John. He just wasn't seen enough through out the series.
When he changes his voice... Always gives me goosebumps
Although i didn't liked McAllister for Red John, i gotta say that Xander Barekeley did an amazing and Creepy job.
Love the scene
LOOLL so patrick played with red john in saison 1 ( rock paper scisors) and won LmAO
in reality the actor didnt knew shit he is red john and was surprised when the creator told him years later. and it doesnt really make sence. you dont build your show season after season you know your plan and where youre heading. this was just a mess

“Can I show you something? I choose you, go pidgey quick attack”
The sharp beak and Talons on the ferocious blood thirsty and eye scratching piegon was more than adequate to distract Red Jonn.
4:13 Most satisfying moment in the whole series :)
I think it basically shows what kind of nature serial killers actually have.
I wanted someone from the team to be Red John not someone we saw for only one episode.
exactly
red John Would be Lisbon lmao
selam s Red Jane(female unknown). That would be cruel and amazing.
you are aware that Jane got into contact with the CBI by himself, right? I rather have an underwhelming antagonist than one based on a huge coincident just for the sake of a tryhard twist
He appeared and played Rock Paper Scissors with Patrick on the SECOND EPISODE OF THE SERIES OVERALL. Tell me if that isn't symbolic and enough for somebody that was as smart as Jane.
Now, I haven't seen a single person say anything about this so I might be the first one....,
If you watch the entire series from S1E1 to S6E8 You'll notice that Patrick and McCallister never even once shook hands..., Atleast not onscreen.
I used to think Bob Kirkland was Red John
When he said it’s totally fair in the voice… chills!
They should have made McAllister the "fake" Red John in season 3 and change this scene with the scene of the season 3 finale with Bradley Whitford.
He was way better as Red John. He at least didn't run.
Totally agree with you!! Good point.
+Pacinolegend1908
Psycologically speaking it makes sense that serial killer runned. Behind their rough extraversion they are cowards inside. It's actually a good choice for the show.
OH MY GOSH THANK YOU SO MUCH. Gosh I HATED this pathetic and stupid ending... waste of a good show.
AMEN to that!!! Bradley Whitford as Red John was the BEST! For me he will always be RED JOHN.

OMG, the bird trick, was so unexpected, back then, and still gigantic to watch in 2023

Stop it he is don't have the skill to be red john. That was poor choice.
I think that it would have been better if it had been Lisbon.
They never stopped to ask who Red John was until the very end
I think McAllister was the best choice out of the options they came up with, but I would have written the confrontation scene differently. There’s a lot they did well like the end where he begs for mercy or when he gets mad at Jane for insulting him again. I would have gone for something more like the Tommy/Thomas change and have him truly embody the idea and history of Red John, only to have it torn away in the end
I think they tried to do this with the voice, but it’s so short and they spend so much time on the idea that “in the end they’re both nobody”.
Very well said. It got over even before it started. I was like "that's it? "

@@gmarz9611 he is a sociopath. Pay attention Jane said that.
@@gmarz9611well tbh he didn’t react that badly, sure he was worried but I mean, come on, he’d built an empire for over 20 years and he lost it to a momentary lapse of judgement. The fact red John feels those things probably just means he’s selfish tbh because he would never feel those emotions for anyone else, if he did he wouldn’t have killed them
McAlister is Red John, I am truly disappointed, there is so much I want to explain, but here’s the point:
Let me explain:
Pidgey used tackle!
It’s super effective
I can't believe that he is red john!
+alexhoho1010 i think that was the point, they choose someone that nobody would think of him as a serious potentiel RJ

Upto season 4 I thought that Patrick himself was Red John with multiple personality disorder. I mean the way rj was portrayed throughout, the only person that could match his smartness and reading abilities from the series, is himself. So it seemed logical and a great, massive plot twist!
I thought this too lol
Such a massive plot twist that it was literally everyone's headcannon.
It would have been too dark
I byhearted this scene since I've seen it 5 year ago, just love it!
I bet when Red John orders pizza, he tells the workers to put his signature smiley face on top of the pizza using sauce
What gave him peace was knowing who RJ was and moving on.
@@easyenetwork2023 That or knowing that RJ wouldnt hurt anyone one else ever again.
Thanks. I was getting impatient to see who Red John was. Now I'll go back to sequential viewing.

Alec Jones Oh..right its a church...oops!
Though I'll admit, it still carries quite a bit of symbolic weight, even if it's intended to be a little ironic.

Red John staring at the Pigeon, that's him realising Jane knew who he was
Red John in the Mentalist, Percy in Nikita. Both very memorable TV villains. Both series had the same writers for some episodes so it makes sense.
Wich version of Nikita?
Oh wow, I just watched that episode now and wouldnt have realized that ever
@@nossenkanteralso: why not having someone with a gun inside instead of only outside? Why getting so close to Jane instead of keeping a safe distance? Why exposing himself so much and making ALL THE WRONG CHOICES?
People can say whatever they want, for me this was the most anticlimatic ending since Lost. So much lore, so much hype, for what? Nothing. "Oh he's nobody", no, he is freakin Red John and this ending just goes to show that most times such hype is built, the payoff isn't 10% worth the wait.
the mystery of how he got the list still remains
After Renfrew was killed it became clear to me Red John's real power was in his connections, so much so that if it weren't for the murder of Jane's family, I would have assumed there was no single Red John, but rather an entire group using the name.
I can't blame people for wanting a showdown as epic as Greek Mythology, but lining up RJ with every caught serial killer or fallen cult leader and somehow, it's just about right.
I was also thrilled with who they chose for the role. The first time he showed up I said "one episode? What a total waste of Xander Berkeley!"
I was tickled pink (or red) they brought him back, and as the main villain no less!
Guy at the end of season 3 was better.
no patricks dad is a wonderful idea. go write a sitcom

***** yeah little bit
John Doe ...you know it's a good idea if you think about it! Even though he wasn't on the list (I was hoping Red John was smart enough lead Patrick into a wrong list). I don't know, what did you think?
Couldn't agree more. Wanted a Red John twist where it was Alex Jane and Patrick is torn between killing his Dad to avenge his family or, it's his Father and they're still blood and can't kill him. So Lisbon does. And I agree Season Three ending was the best. Red John SHOULD'VE ended there.
Jane was showing Red John that his hindsight wasn't 20/20, he had him pegged from the start that's why he had the pigeon's cause he knew he had a phobia of them.
i wish he‘d asked questions. RJ is still a mystery
I don't know what everyone's complaining about. He's menacing, charismatic, confident, intelligent and has a powerful presence. The only problem was that they introduced him too late and killed him off immediately. It would have been better if they'd revealed McAllister to be Red John sooner and then had him as a recurring antagonist.
he was in the 2nd episode in season one
He was none of those, but ok.
***** This is why I love Walking Dead. New villains every season. In fact new villains every half of a season.
And they spend another season on FBI doing nothing.
Time they had.
They r poor writters as you said. Could be way better than this.
Because unseen, unknown evil feels allways more threatening.
He's actually John Connor's drinking milk stepdad in Terminator 2. He's also George Mason in 24.
Most psychopaths look for that one person that can challenge them and in a way give what they do some sort of validation and meaning. For them it gets too easy with their victims so they look for that "special" one that can really make the hunt interesting.
But they don't bag for life 😂. They kill because they had to. Because of the urge of killing.
This is where Mentalist ended
Later the report was filed.
Teresa: A hungry pigeon was used as MO in the murder of Red John.
Jane:Bummer
😆😆😆😆
Episode is okay, I suppose, but this scene was pretty great mainly because of the reveal, its tension, and the build up itself.
um, not quite.
Supposedly smartest dude ever falls for the fucking "cab i show you something trick lmao"
I can’t take it…..i am at season 3 episode 21 and My suspense got better of me……
If I learned one lesson in life then it's this: Don't be a comic book villain. You can explain your evil plans and confess all your sins BUT pull the trigger before you do it :P
I still burst into laughter when Xander Berkeley mimics Simons voice
Except it actually is Simons voice. They spliced it over.
@@nossenkanter yeah I know and that’s the funny fact about it
Whos simon
@@NitpickingNerd Simon Baker is the actor who played Jane and he was also the voice of Red John
bruno heler had no clue who red john was gonna be until season 6. He just chose one random guy who had previously only appeared in one episode in season 1!! He had no clue what to do so he ended this storyline as quickly as possible, leaving a lot of plotholes and all the previous clues meant nothing.
"Well I guess I have to own that." All timer of a comeback there
I was thinking that because they've been hiding away Red John for all these years, Red John could have got away and came back throughout the rest of the season to haunt Jane, with Jane doing the same to Red John.
"It's totally fair. Game's over and I won" I just realized that was the same voice he used in the season 2 finale when he first saved Patrick Jane. It all comes full circle now. The game is over. No need to hide his identity or change his voice to elude capture. Wowwww.
4:14-4:22 for a minute there Jane almost looked like an assisan omg😍😂
4:31 for some reason i just laugh at this bit. It's like the woman is looking down at RJ like "what do you expect me to do?"
That way jane already set a gun (when he was alone in church in previous episode) in church and set meeting there (intentionally)
with gale bertman.
He was so desperate to kill RJ that he consider every possibility.
He was sitting on a porch feeding peigons when FBI was chasing him.
It shows PJ never gave up no matter how smart RJ was.
