I am a new player of three months. I am taking lessons and loving it! I have a new Squire 60's Vibe and it gets the job done so far, but I am already looking for an upgrade. This is one of the best demos of a bass that I have seen. Looking hard at the Lakland Skyline Series and the Ibanez sr2600, but this may be the new frontrunner. Incredible sound and incredible work of art! Thank you Sir!

Please release this exact bass with an EMG electronics package or at least something with a more typical Spector sound. The finish. color, construction and neck are all perfect... among the best looking Spector has ever made. But it doesn't sound very much like the Spector I'm used to. As it stands I'd rather have the nearly inferior in every way NS pulse, but at the end of the day the pulse has the sound. The pulse already has a version 2, time to give the ethos a version 2 for those of us who want THAT sound.

Been wanting to get me a pj spector the spectors I got currently all have soapbars emgs and this might be the prospect tough call between this and the pulse for me though but that finish might win me over tbh. My only issue is at this price point why did it not get a battery box? I hate opening the control cavity on basses for battery changes. Specially in the korean made instruments as the screws in the control cavity are in the wood unlike the euros

You've sold me. Spector makes amazing basses. I have an old '94 Euro, but I like the sounds of this Ethos better (though maybe that's because of you). A reverse P in a PJ setup works much better, IMO. I hate the sound of a standard PJ setup when slapped with both PUPs on but with a reverse P it works. (Especially when you have an on board active EQ to dial out any upper register honkiness you'd encounter in a normal PJ setup).

1700 whether it's $ or € seems quite a lot of money for a Korean bass. What is going on with the prices, about 3-4 years ago I bought my first Spector Euro LX 5 (one of two, LX and LT) 5 for €1800. I would suspect that build quality for Korean bass is lower than Euro's?

The intro really doesn't sound good, with that palm-on-strings technique that's nice for an acoustic guitar, but sounds really grooveless on a bass.
