    PR is like being a brain surgeon on temp worker pay that gets no respect from anyone but the patient.

    Does anyone else know the exact length of their finger and arm at almost any given point? 20 years later I still know that book is 3" and so is my index finger ....... 1 ejection seat save and hundreds if not thousands of Static line and MT1X. saves.

    How many riggers does it take to cut quarter inch?

    I was Honor Graduate of my class. This was my first MOS 43E Parachute Rigger, back in the day.
    I remember two guys kept arguing that they would each get it after phase 2. But at the end of phase 3, I won and had no idea I was even in the running. They were both a little angry, and protested to one of the instructors to no avail. sorry losers, haha. Seemed my helping my mother sew as a kid payed off. I'm guessing the "stitch bitch" phase is still phase three. I ended up seeing Busan, ROK and Kaiserslautern, FRG a long time ago. I still have my original rigger card I had laminated like the old green ID cards, and a real rigger belt made from the long waist strap and buckle of a Vietnam Era US T-10 Parachute Pack Tray that was DBER.

      Do the riggers get to jump out of planes too?

    • @storbokki371
      @storbokki371 3 роки тому

      @@lukeroberts1199 US Army Parachute Riggers are required to go through and pass Airborne School before going to Rigger School, and must remain on jump status to work as a Rigger. So a Rigger wears Airborne wings, Rigger wings, jumps regularly, and receives jump pay. Riggers also wear a red ball cap (rigger cap) while working in that capacity, or otherwise a maroon airborne beret. There are often opportunities to jump with foreign troops to earn foreign jump wings worn over your right side breast pocket, only one at a time.

      I was stationed in Kaiserslautern in 1983-1985 at Deanner Kaserne next to the Riggers Company. Were you there same time? I was honor graduate of my basic training company. I remember seeing those guys with 3-4 wings, US Parachutist, Rigger and also German and French wings. One had Belgium.

      @@storbokki371 50 years ago right now, July 71, I was going through jump school and when we went into jump week, we all went in to see the rigger shack to see how it all comes together... those long beautiful wood tables and the ultra clean environment. Am I remembering correctly that the riggers would jump every so many chutes they themselves packed and I seem to remember it was every tenth chute?
