I’m still in the new season of homeschooling I just wanted to say thank you very much for doing this. It’s very helpful to be able to get words of wisdom from a seasoned homeschooling mama. Thank you
I love your content, and this was so helpful! I have a second grader, 2 first graders, and a toddler. You're like having a veteran homeschool mom in my pocket! ❤
We have been using draw write now and it is so great. My 4yr old and my 6 yr old do it together and we talk about the different tid-bits they write about. They are good!
Great picks! I always love seeing what you have planned. We are also starting AGF cycle 1 this year with a second grader and 4th/5th grader. What I love is that the purchase of the full curriculum includes a complete Canadian curriculum plan for us Canadians as well 🇨🇦 They have such a great book list and the riches are lovely. Also using the McGuffeys this year! Looking forward to your 5th grader picks.
Erin, I learn so much from your videos- thanks for posting them!! I was curious if at some point you could share how you rotate all that language arts together. You mentioned you only did the spelling about twice a week. Thanks again for all your videos- they have been so instrumental for me!
I have a 2nd grader-ish. She is also using the Revised McGuffey's readers. She really loves "Free and Treadwell's": Reading -Literature series and we read both almost every day. I had thought about using Masterbooks "Language Lessons for a Living Education". I really bounced around for her Language Arts. I settled with Easy Peasy's Language Arts and "Fix-it Grammar" (IEW). Math she is doing Easy Peasy Math. All my kids have used/are using Easy Peasy Math. It is a family favorite 😊 Everything else changes day by day as we are a very interest-led family. I am trying to semi-focus on American history as a family (reading picture books and "Light and the Glory for kids" and UA-cam). But, I am perfectly fine diving into something else if they prefer. Science is whatever interests them. Today it was the difference between Bees, hornets, and wasps. Great picks! I hope you have a wonderful homeschool year, God bless!
Hello there, I am new to following you, and I love your videos and I appreciate your help so much! I am trying to find the Primary Composition Notebook you are using with Draw - Write - Now. Could you share where you purchased that? My children LOVE the Draw - Write - Now series! Thank you!! 💕
So you have the video of books to use when not using a curriculum for history, but I see you are using Gentle Feast here. Which do you prefer? I’ve often looked at Gentle Feast but I never can see enough of it to decide.
Hi would you be able to tell me what your day with your 2nd grader looks like. Do you do all the subjects in one day? I have a 2nd grader, first grader and pre kinder. Trying to figure out how I schedule subjects each day.
I did a short series about planning last year that walks you through setting up a weekly and daily plan for your homeschool. In it I share what our normal daily routine looks like. Hope this helps! Love your videos! Where did you get the primary composition notebook? It looked like the pages were fairly thick. Most of the primary composition notebooks I have seen have such thin pages/look easy to rip/have terrible bleed through.
No, I’ve got the word/sound cards too. Just didn’t hold them up. I don’t use the letter tiles anymore for my older son but will start out with them for my daughter.
I agree. It is best to keep things simple in those first few years and add on as they master some foundational skills.

This video was a great help for me. Thank you. I am getting the mcguffey readers for my rising 2nd grader.
Thank you for sharing! Starting our very first year of homeschool next week with my daughter who is in 2nd grade.
You are so welcome! Best wishes!
Me too!! Thank you

Happy to hear that! Blessings!
I feel the same way! 2nd grader, 3 yo and 1 yo this year!!

I love this so much. We have very similar styles and you made so lovely choices. Blessings to you all!
Thank you! You too!
We love the good and the beautiful! We’ve been using their math, language arts, and handwriting for a couple of years and it’s amazing.
We use the McGuffey’s as well ❤️🙌
Great picks.
Thanks for sharing! I plan to check out the pilgrim book!
Thank you so much for this! I’ve been looking for a solid spelling curriculum! Will definitely be trying out All About Spelling for my 3rd grader 😃
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing your picks! I enjoy seeing what others are using this year. ❤
You are so welcome!

Awesome video:)May I ask what you suggest for socialism for homeschooling?
Do you have a new link for world watch news?
Here you go! Thanks for checking!! I didn’t realize it had expired! 😅 app.worldwatch.news/?referral_code=DBgHDacDgJDFFB
Do you have a suggestion for a nature study simular to this one for older children?
This is a great one we've done a few of for kids about ages 7-12. ourjourneywestward.com/downloads/40-nature-walks-volume-1/

Where do you purchase all of these materials?
There are links to everything I mentioned in the video description. ☺️
Hi! You said you use FLO for testing, are their tests timed?
Yes, you set a timer for each subject.
@@TheEclecticHomeschooler ok thanks
Do you just use the teacher's manual for all about spelling?
No, I’ve got the word/sound cards too. Just didn’t hold them up. I don’t use the letter tiles anymore for my older son but will start out with them for my daughter.
