I used to like talking to my villagers, every time I talk to them in New Horizons they always talk about how long it’s been since I’ve talked to them!😂😂
I miss playing hide and seek with them, and having little appointments to go to their homes :(
That'd be cool if it would be added, it would make New Horizons so much more fun and entertaining.
I hope Nintendo doesn't get any more 'relaxed' because of the success of this game, and start working on more content and making quality of life improvements, specially to players that have been playing it for months or since it came out like me. Honestly I got burnt out of this game after 3 months and now I only play it like 30 mins some days a week. The villagers in this game have no special dialogues, they are so repetitive, in the previous games they would request things like playing games, visiting their house or yours, or stuff like that, in all these months I've been playing New Horizons only twice did a villager requested me to play the find the treasure game or hide and seek.
Literally all my villagers ever say to me is about other people who have visited, other human characters that are on my island, or they will tell me what they saw me do. Absolutely nothing of substance whatsoever unless they are talking to each other.
I really do hope they breathe more life into the villagers' dialogue, because the repetitive dialogue has long worn out its welcome
Doubtful, but hopefully they can get it in by Christmas or New Years - that would be a great gift
I hope they can do it by the 1st anniversary of the game

Given the recent update, it seems like the animal crossing team is really listening to feedback, so I think if we make enough noise they may eventually fix it up.
Sad that it launched like that but if it’s in an update, at least the game could be a ton better by the time all of the updates are out.
if the dialogue in the gamecube animal crossing can be different, so can new horizons
If they made some villagers snarky and a bit rude like in the game cube version I bet Karen's would complain like they complained with ressetti :(
I have talked to Molly, then seen Fauna, and talked to one after another. Thry said the *same* thing after each other

I hope this wins! New Horizons was the first Animal crossing game I played. At first, I enjoyed it, but after I finished the game it just doesn’t work for me. I liked decorating and everything, but stopped playing eventually because I got bored. If the writing team works on the game more, and maybe each villager will have some goals, maybe likes and dislikes, mini-stories (maybe i’m asking for too much), the game will feel more alive and many players will find a reason to return to it.

I would love if villagers had personality and didn't feel like robots and I would also love if villagers actually acted like their personality type like smug or cranky acting according to their personality it'd give the roster of villagers way more diverse villagers at this point are basically just for show to make your island look better at this point
I also understand some people don't like it when villagers are mean but they could make it an option or something

If Animal crossing New horizons has the same unforgiving at the same time relaxin, cute and charming nature... I would prefer this game over any other, plus if nintendo makes us fall in love with talking to the villagers again, it would be a miracle

after i signed the petition i kinda want make my own by asking nintendo to add more villagers and bringing back the removed villagers. i would love to have my old best friends dozer and tarou back and i know that many other animal corssing players would like to have their old best friends back to. i would also give new players an experience to make new friends that they have never seen before.

I’ve lost all emotional connection with my villagers in NH. I spent WEEKS getting all my villagers from NL onto NH from Nookazon. Reason? I loved their personalities. I fricken adored them. But now, I’ve lost that. They are so repetitive and annoying. I might go back to NL or just abandon AC as a whole, the game is nothing without the villagers.
I HAVE GATHERED SOME IDEAS. Basically I don't think the personality types should be limited on the gender of the villagers. Atleast i dont think they are but I've only seen female normal villagers and male cranky villagers. Even adding more personalities and bringing back hobbies would definitely help make the game feel more realistic.
For example, for my first point, I think that jock and uchi/sisterly villagers should remain being based on gender, because i rather have 1 male and 1 female villager to start with. But all the other ones, (cranky, snooty, peppy, lazy, normal, smug) shouldn't be based on gender in my opinion. Why? Because doing so makes the game bland when only only male villagers can be smug, cranky, or lazy, and only female villager can be peppy, normal, or snooty. This point would maybe suggest changing the names of the villagers.
Example: snooty -> snobby
Or sumn like that idk-
Then for my second point, I have a list of personality types that could be added
- Quiet/Reserved: villagers with this personality type will have a hard time getting used to the new environment and talking to the player. But overtime, they start to warm up to you if you keep talking to them. They have a hard time getting along with jock, snooty (snobby), and cranky villagers, but lazy and normal villager speak to them easily.
- Timid/Crybaby: these villagers will cry over anything and everything. They fear everyone on your island, even the player. They have a hard time getting along with jock, cranky, and snooty (snobby) villagers, but normal villagers, quiet villagers and lazy villagers are easy people to talk to for them.
-Know-it-all/Smartypants: Despite the sound of the name, these villagers are actually pretty nice people 50% of the time. They'll always be correcting villagers when they do something wrong, and sometimes criticizing your placement of outside furniture. They get along with snooty, cranky, and normal villagers, and they have are hard time speaking to jock, sisterly, (I like to call them uchi villagers but whatever) and peppy villagers, meaning that they are very serious people.

Yessss! There’s literally a bunch of personality’s out there, why focus so much on Snooty, sisterly, peppy, normal, jock, smug, lazy, and cranky? Make more personality’s! I also agree that is doesn’t have to matter what gender they are. Heck, even some villagers could have more personality than just one but maybe that’s asking for to much but. I would for at least one or two person on the team development to have a job to improve thing’s more often as time goes so that thing’s could get more interesting and exciting!

The villagers are disappointing in New Horizons. I went away from New Horizons because the villagers were so boring and just nothing to do in general. Population Growing, Wild World, and City Folk are much better in my opinion.
