Heavy duty is one of the last joes i remember getting, and i enjoyed him a lot, including the missile launchers. I was not a fan of every figure coming with them in later years, but it made sense for heavy weapons guys to have them, or to have them on vehicles. Oh, yeah... burrito, burrito, oh oh, buuuurrito!
He was one of my first figures as I was 6 at the time. I would usually just give mine a machine gun and go on jungle/commando missions since the rig was so bulky. I loved how realistic he was but with that dash of 90s flair. Still one of my favorites to this day. Also, see you at JoeFest! Should be a great time.
Oh, I think this is definitely a top tier figure! Man! Are you critical. Unrealistic weapons? It's a toy, and looks fantastic. They made him muscular so he'd be able to carry it. It could be made of a lightweight alloy or something. Use your imagination. Gah!
I have a lot of affection for Heavy Duty; personally I think he's one example of 90s GI Joe done right. On the Roadblock vs Heavy Duty thing, I feel like Roadblock was a more all around flexible sort of soldier who was very great with heavy machine guns, whereas Heavy Duty was more of a static heavy gun emplacement sort of guy.
I love your channel I love your reviews and I have greeted with you with every grading of the figures up until heavy to me he is a top-tier figure not a mid-tierfigure despite the obvious downfalls that the figure might have that I agree with you upon the good still over ways the bad.just to see where we stand on this why don't you do a poll and see what everyone else thinks.on another note thank you so much for this channel I really appreciate your contribution to the GI Joe world if means so much to me because I was an average GI Joe fan as a kid and even to this day I still love GI Joe even though I'm not a collector yet so thanks hoodie Coco keep up the goodwork cuz by all means I am not downplaying you on thisreview I just encourage you to try to be a little less critical when you do your grading of the figures.
I think its funny that the cartoon series G.I. Joe Renegades made Heavy Duty and Roadblock cousins, were as in other appearances in G.I. Joe media they are not related. I never knew that Heavy Duty had tattoos either, until I watched this review.
The 1992 and 1993 Roadblocks are awesome to me,I hope you do a review on both of them soon,🙏🏽 I have both of them and Heavy-Duty, along with the 1986 Roadblock, plus the 2001 "Roadblock", I nean Doubleblast, all the big bad brothers are awesome!👍🏽
Great review, my son had him and I want to say he was the driver for the Slaughter's Marauders Armadillo. I seem to remember my son having him stand in the little tank and his weapon system fit in between the missle launchers of it and I guess gave the tank extra firepower. He did look like a cool figure.
Nice figure overall. Accessories are rather over the top, but rather fun. Nice review, really lightened my mood after a bad night yesterday. Can't wait for Cobra Convergence coming soon.
Now revisiting this figure again, the UOS on the crotch can be like a "U O US" Since if you read it like that it comes out like that, like the I. O. U term (imo) And the idea of said heavy ordnance system would be cool irl, tho I suppose like you said it'd be clunky and not combat-effective since you can't duck or do anything unless you are standing, I'd think a way to improve on said designs is that the skirt armor on it is farther and more moveable and maneuverable with some exo skeletons to hold the system in place and not injure the user since that must weigh a lot
his weapon looks suggestive and it would be an awesome belt buckle though. he was also roadblocks cousin back off bach, the point is he knows how to handle pecission, timing and distractions.
If memory serves me correctly, in G.I. Joe Renegades, he's actually Roadblock's cousin, although I'm sure this was a nice story arch, come on Hasbro, we're not all related.
😁!! It's a few years old so I don't know if you're still reading comments on this, but I gotta say this is the funniest HCC788 video I've seen yet😄! Of course HASBRO gave you good inspiration, and to paraphrase a Mr. Sheldon Cooper: it's funny because it's so true😆! The weapon array looks like something Robocop should have. Any body carrying that piece of sci-fi hardware should be clad in full hi-tech body armor (with a strength enhancing exo-skeleton to help with the load?), like Fast Draw. But instead this bad@$$ (HAS)BRO wears a sleeveless shirt and a baseball cap😅. But fortunately for him, apparently all his foes only fire at his armored crotch!?😂 He should have a bike or tri-bike instead of walking around with more firepower than a R.A.M. bike😂 But despite his absurdities, you found the things that make this seemingly absurd figure likable. Absurdly likable? Extremely funny vid! You had me with the pseudo-commercial!🤣 P.S.- Totally agree that some characters were so redundant of earlier ones that they could've (should've?) just been updates/upgrades. Stretcher was a bit too muscular to be Doc, but Duke was Hawk.01, Lt.Falcon looked more like Flint's little brother than Duke's and when the 2nd Metal Head came out I called him Scrap-Iron since I didn't get the original 'Scrappy'.
Burritond please please review Star Brigade or the recalled Roadblock. I remember getting him on the shelf. He was re-released with the BAT mk 2 in 1992 also. Just those 2 came in the case with Wild Bill, eel and etc.
He's a pretty cool looking figure, backwards cap is cool, sleeveless shirt a cool looking camo pants. That weapon system though.... 😔. Great review Hoodie! Later!
I like burritos! Pulled my Heavy Duty out and took a look, the buckle looks like it says Joe to me. I actually rarely used the weapon system. I was OK with the suspension of disbelief when I played, but that was just to big to be practical. I used the weapon system only when it was attached with a vehicle or stationary emplacement.
Even if he could carry it he wouldn't be able to carry all of the ammunition needed just for the guns alone, let alone the missiles. It'd be excellent for mounting as a defensive weapon on a bunker though, especially a Vietnam style bunker.
Definitely a great figure. Sure, his hat and camo could be toned down, but they could also be way worse. The torn sleeves are a nice touch. His weapons system is out there, but I like the engineering that went into making it all interconnected. It wasn't shown in the review, but the HUD can also pivot up to give HD an unobstructed view. Oh, and burrito!
Quick info he was Lamont A. Morris later his name was changed Hershel Dalton in the reboot franchise explored In the devil due comics, spy troops, venom vs valor and renegades its revealed that he is Roadblock cousin. Nice review 👍🏻
On another note. Just picked up colonel courage. Not sure why but i really like this figure. To my knowledge only army colonel si ce hawk got bumped up. Ok strange 90s rant over. =/
ooh wow. This was one of the best figures left to review. These vids are bittersweet. I am excited to watch it but sad to see it checked off the list. The end of this journey looks more and more like a slog. On the other hand, some of the worst figures have made for some fun reviews to watch. Mostly I worry a little for your sanity as I look at some of what you have left to do. Also what a great puddle you found to play in. It was such a treat when our backyards gave us a new feature to play in even if it was only available for a limited time.
Adding a mounting stand to separate the weapon from the man seems like a better idea and is in consonance with being part of the indirect fire infantry. Safe journey on your way to joefest!
BURRITOOOOOOO This...gun-rig could easily have been placed on a tripod or something, don't have the lower gun shield and make it a tripod mounted weapon. He does need more LBE as is, but he does have a good look to him. I'm not sure how you get the pistol off the backpack while wearing the backpack, though. With some paint on the "JOE" on his hat and a more light olive green for the dorito shapes, his color palette would be perfect.
@@hneugiii1245 No! The Mobat is Green Camouflage, came with 2 figures! I own it! I have the original as well! Look up 1998! If you don't believe me Google it or I will show it on UA-cam!
@@hneugiii1245 Still there was another HEAVY DUTY & he came with THUNDERWING IN dark green, gray & with a little bit of white. Make sure you look it up! Before judging me.
The gear is too bulky to carry like that. Needed a tripod and a peg on the backpack to carry it all. Rock n roll and road block had the machine gunner spot locked down. Heavy duty would have been more on the defensive side than offensive. Hardball would be a good compliment to heavy duty
That visor is extremely fragile- any pressure will cause the stem to break. Funny you mention roadblock. During the early IDW days, Roadblock was actually called Heavy Duty for a bit. Hasbro must have let the original license lapse.
I think they mistakenly resorted that column in whatever program they used to create the table. There are six other incorrect team designations visible on that page, including Cobra Commander as a Joe.
I prefer the noble pizza bagel to the tyrant burrito, reply if you get that reference. Clue: it's from another UA-cam reviewer, but not GI Joe reviewer
I remember my brother and I got this guy for Christmas.
Funny how you say he's a lot like Roadblock - at the time, that's who I thought he was!
The weapon system looks more like somthing you'd mount on a vehicle turret ratrther than carry around.
On the belt buckle, it's written JOE as the cap.
I agree, definitely the letters "JOE".
I had this figure back in the day. I didn't mind the weapon, he made me think of Mac from Predator. I usually had Heavy Duty crew the Battle Wagon.
Although not a fan of his weapon system I do appreciate all the detail that went into it such as the bullet holes and the holstered gun
He wasn't just extreme. He was extreme TO DA MAX!!!!!
Oh, I think this is definitely a top tier figure! Man! Are you critical. Unrealistic weapons? It's a toy, and looks fantastic. They made him muscular so he'd be able to carry it. It could be made of a lightweight alloy or something. Use your imagination. Gah!
Just got finally! One cool dude I could not find on shelves in 1991!!!
I have a lot of affection for Heavy Duty; personally I think he's one example of 90s GI Joe done right.

This thing makes trying to walk around carrying the Japanese Type 92 Heavy Machine gun look practical.

Heavy Duty doesn't need a harness....Heavy Duty's arms are the harness ☺☺😏
Just so you know, on an episode of the series "GIJOE Renegades" Heavy Duty and Roadblock were cousins.
"HEAVY DUTY Doesn't duck for ANYONE!"
really ironic I have the gi joe vs cobra brawler aka hammer with heavyvduty the 2002 reissue of a 1991 figure and 1990 vehicle.
Nice figure overall. Accessories are rather over the top, but rather fun. Nice review, really lightened my mood after a bad night yesterday. Can't wait for Cobra Convergence coming soon.

Burrito forever! Now to unpause and watch the rest of the review....
🌯
By the way I absolutely love Roadblock! Heavy Duty is also used on a PS2 game. At first I thought it was Roadblock, but no, it is HD!
I call him the brown brigade heavy duty skidmark.
Burrito. Doritos camouflage crunch burrito.
why arent there any black cobra character? has anyone noticed that?
Fantastic opening sequence!

The song 'Heavy Duty' by the legendary Spinal Tap was playing in the back of my mind during this review. 👍👍
belt buckle has the word joe
Cool video Hoodie CoCo I wish I could be at Joefest
Is heavey duty stronger than roadblock
Honestly that wepons system woudl look better on backblast
this guy was one of my favs. i love the backwards hat.

On another note. Just picked up colonel courage. Not sure why but i really like this figure. To my knowledge only army colonel si ce hawk got bumped up. Ok strange 90s rant over. =/
I had this figure, extreme accessories & weapons! Only problem was all the little bits broke really easy (hand grips, red lens, etc).
Yeah ive still got mine... missing the red sight as it broke. Everything else complete
Looks like a cool figure I never came across but its now on my shopping list.
Heavy duty reminds me alien colonial marine I would have had them with the GI Joe Mega Marines who would fit in very well with that group
Burrito!
Alright a HCC778 review. This is going to be awesome.
I used to call him heavy doody.🚽 humor.
One of my favourites as a child
Enchilada.
Great video
Burrito, and now off to taco bell, but after the review
Burrito ! Burrito ! Burrito !
Burrito!😂😂😂
Great review Hoodie
I sure hope he doesn't ever have to run (or even walk anywhere at a brisk pace) wearing that thing :D Loved that intro bit BTW!
Yes extreme 90's!
One year later...Burrito....
roadblock and his cousin.
Good review man!
I paused so.... burrito!
Great review! This figure is okay, but the accessories are too bulky in my opinion. The sights on the backpack is a nice bonus though.
The thumbnail art looks like Tim Meadows
The ladies man
Burrito… I guess?
Crotch protection for his "O-ring"!

HOODEDCOBRACOMMER 788
There is a 3rd HEAVY DUTY & he came with STALKER with MOBAT TANK 2.
Can you do a review of the GENERAL? Or RED ALERT?
1996 release of the MOBAT comes with Thunderwing, which was just a redo of Thunder probably a trademark thing.
@@hneugiii1245

The lime green missles were easier to find, once you launched them, in the backyard. Also, am I wrong, but isn't Heavy-duty Roadblock ' s nephew ?
heavy duty is roadblocks cousin
Burrito
Burrito???
It might be for blowing up something big, like Cobra Commanders personal transport or something
Just a theory : The collector's guide got him mixed up with Heavy Metal
I think they mistakenly resorted that column in whatever program they used to create the table. There are six other incorrect team designations visible on that page, including Cobra Commander as a Joe.
The other errors: Desert Scorpion - Joe; Incinerators - Joe; Cobra Commander - Joe; Sci-Fi - Cobra; Big Ben - Cobra; Snow Serpent - Iron Grenadiers
1991 was the year of Silence of the Lambs. Hannibal the Cannibal liked classical music and human flesh. Correlation?
Burrito, lol...
Doritos camo! Top Kek!
Burrito.
Double mind bending action! Too much yellow neon!
Just try it
Agreed, it says joe.lol
