Jesus, even knowing the trick with the bolts and specially designed shoes, that's a hell of a move. Especially since in 1992, it looks like he's going farther than the normal 45 degree angle and almost to a 70 degree angle, which is an unbelievable amount of strain on the ankles.
yeah that he leaned less than 45 degrees in the late-1997
70° is easier ..that's prolly 30° -35°
@@jigrgaming9845 he was old enough to lean
Reason why it was a dangerous world tour
But he still practice it to master it because it's just ez even he had the design shoe
Kinda funny how they use the guy with the bomb as a distraction while they secure themselves to the floor
Literally every time
at 0:39 you can see it crystal clear

You can see how the older he gets the harder this move is for him. Even with the specially made stuff for it. Hes barely leaning in 97
the drugs man
years of dancing, years of drug abuse, past his prime etc his body is slowly giving up. also back then people didn't take their health as seriously. nowadays musicians are treated like atheltes so their doctors monitor them all the time. they have personal chefs and personal trainers etc
1:27 my boy on the right end almost lost his shit 😂
Hahaha
If he would have fall physics to MJ be like: nobody can defy me😎
LMFMAIQKDJSNWK
🤣
LMAO🤣🤣🤣😭
This move actually puts a lot of stress on the back muscles. It's with those muscles that you hold your body.
Or the demons...
They actually just have attachments in the ground that hold him up
@@mottbobby7181 yes. The system is patented. But still, you need a lot of force on your back. I've done a mock system and I tried it myself. It's a lot harder than it seems
I thought so
@@craftxeni Not true. He actually invented it. And there are no hooks lol. However there are ates in the shoes to make it easier. But its not easier.
You need strong calves and a strong core to accomplish this move.
Mozart you also like Michael huh? He is pretty much you in our times
@@vxg3206 *indeed he is a true legend*
You know what? He has left us for 11 years not until recently i find out how incredible he was. I am so ashamed of myself.
And Micheal had it all
@@vxg3206 now we got Kanye
I think I’m most impressed with 1:07, the way he can so casually reach up and fix his hat while the rest of his body is doing this insane shit
The lean is actually fake tho. He uses bolts in the floor, and shoes that can slide in and hold him
@@ashtonleroy3784 he still need to use his calf strength to hold him up
@@melu0o that’s not the point bozo
@@gkrees9509 yeah the point is if ur only just realizing this or have the need to tell people ur slow af cuz everyone already knows and still loves the move
@@dankmoon949 nigga HUH?!
It makes a little more sense why he was hooked up to so many pain meds. Doing this and other feats on the stage definitely took a toll on his body, and that's what we see in his later years when he starts getting a little weaker and clearly becomes more out of it. Rip to the legend
Similar to Prince with his intense work ethic. Both of them needed pain meds to survive their own legendary performances

LEAN AND 1997 LEAN ❗
5 years makes a huge difference
1997 johannesburg
Also if u perform for 2 yrs straight (history tour) would u be able to lean that much all the time
Pretty sure i didnt see the lean in this is it. But if you did, Time stamp it here!
It's weird that 5 years made that much difference. I think they made him tour too hard and it wasn't good on his health. I think that's why History tour was not as good in terms of vocals and coreography compared to Bad or Dangerous tours in my opinion.

OH N-
Micheal Jackson was a different level entertainer. His dancers are doing the exact same moves but can’t make them look like his goated forever 🐐🐐
Michael Jackson was an incredibly gifted and naturally talented entertainer that captivated audiences like no one else in the history of pop-culture. It’s a shame how hard the industry broke him down. He really lost his mind because of how abusive and corrupt the industry is.
It's funny because if you frame by frame at 0:38, you can see the nail he backed up out of. Still wild how he was able to do that though.
Even if there is a nail it's still lots of strain and you have to be extremely strong
It’s still very hard to do though. The back muscles get stressed which may cause a fail
not nails. bolts. nails would pull right out. metal bolts are the best anchor. in this situation
You cant see shit dude
I know this video is about the lean, but, I dig that dance break at the beginning. I replayed it about 5 times before watching the whole video
compare that to him in this is it and is like it’s not even him. aging is a hell of a thing
@@me_12-vw1vithat's because this is it is a rehearsal, not an actual concert. he was the same during his 1992 rehearsals. he obviously didn't have the same amount of energy anymore, but not to that extent 😂😂
I so wish I saw him live.
Same 😭😭
FINDALONE He never performed in 2008?
FINDALONE Yeh but he never showed up. He prerecorded a message that was shown. So you didn’t see him in person. Correct me if I’m wrong.
So do we
same
1:25 dude flinched lol. he probably though he's gon hit the ground. lol
I see why he has to create a distraction with the explosion guy and go to some special dark part of the stage so they can attach their shoes to the hook to help them lean. Genius!!!
He was top notch entertainment combined with incredible music.
Truly an exceptional human being .
I still think to this day ... this is the coolest thing I ever seen ... even if it was just a trick
0:35 Look at the dancer behind Micheal barely even leaning😂
He couldn't find his nail😂
He's just holding his arms back😭😭😭 ayooo
Who invited my man blud 😂
me pretending to work when the boss is around
to be fair, he probably was there for a reason we don't know, and he found out exactly how fucking hard that was to pull off even with the nails.
you can actually see the nail at 0:39 takes an immense amount of strength and still a dope ass move
0:33 POV: you're in a minecraft acacia forest
People who talk about the 1997 lean see the concert live in johannesburg in 1997 see how tired he is in all songs,it's also the second last concert of HWT
Michael was so much of a perfectionist if he actually fell from doing the lean .. someone is getting sued and fired 😂😂
I think someone got fired in ua-cam.com/video/pxa9FFywN1c/v-deo.html
He did in one of Tokyo shows during history tour.
1:40 😅🤣 that nigga was feeling his age in 97 lol. He said I'm good with a 25% lean lol
I can't wait to see Michael Jackson live.
You probably won’t be able to
Who’s gonna tell him?
paul dano: “does he know?”
I’ll tell him
Ahem
He’s dead
@@thomasthemenace7504pretty unfortunate yeah
Michael was just so amazing to me . Pure MAGIC. God I miss him dearly.
even tho he had special shoes that connected him to the floor its still hard to lean that far and come back up
Storytime: a few hours ago around midnight, I felt the sudden urge to get up and do this. Long story short, I almost fell on my face and smooth criminal played in my head until I fell back asleep.
You don’t have his special shoes
Nah that was the ghost of Michael Jackson singing to you’re unconscious body
You need to have a bolt on the floor and a specially designed shoes used to anchor the bolt.
I love how the clip always starts with the robber in black with the bomb so that the audience is distracted as they set up the lean.
I love that the top 4 commnets all say how "part X has the most strain", but all have different parts. Calf, back, core, ankle.
Thx i like you work!
I think just doing that past 30 degrees is a serious strain to the lower back and calves. Even trying it on to the edge of the bed and getting up without using my arms, that was a feat. 😅
its also impressive how well the other dancers mastered the lean to in 92 the guy next to MJ leaned almost to the same level he did
the man shmoovin' and throwing the dynamite though
You have my Like
Its like there glued to the ground
That crowd in 93 was lit 🔥🔥🐐
Mexico, no wonder
Beautiful Michael is the best❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Soooo cooool btw i subed and liked
i mean....we can pay respect to the fact that despite the clipped shoes, probability he was rasing his heels a bit and shoe would cover that..this guy had enormous core strength, elastic muscles and very strong ankles! Plus shoes could not be near as sturdy as to help him a lot.. as he needed (and did) dance in them regularly later in his routine.. Respect to his strenght, ...which is not a surprise at all, he was very dancer-athletic.. he demontrates that again and again in many other of his moves, how clean and explosive he can be, going from total relaxation and rebound, to full strenght contracted muscles again (2 of really hard qualities) - which speak about strength and flexibility of muscles and connective tissues at the same time...his main moves like his foot work, moonwalk, ankle breaks etc., the whole style of his requires really strong legs, psoas, core and strong flexible ankles..(He was quite flexible in his hips also, i saw some of the footages of him doing hip opener as he was lying on the floor and is also very visible in how high he can kick his legs)...you can see in his peak years, he leans down a lot..a lot! in this position..even some dancers around him lean much much less, or break in their hips to "cheat" the lean a bit.. for me..going up is as impressive as leaning down!.. on the way down you make a body plank, make yourself as stiff as possible..wait till the shoes stop you..but just looking at the shoe pic..just imagine..that little space..without whole body strength..would never hold any of us in that position..without a lot of practice! and on the way up..he literally has only a small push from the toes..and a whooole lot of effort of his back body, hamstrings, glutes etc. and core strength to pick himself up...impressive
Watching only Micheal Jackson for 4 days straight has a effect on me that I've catched his voice tone and I'm mimicking him all day. I love him. Miss him❤️❤️❤️
Hee hee
Okay chill, dont become micheal jackson please.
The guy with the bomb atract atention from trick prepairing.
He was an impressive entertainer.
0:33 Watch the guy on the right. You can tell here that your whole body is flexed when you lean this far because of the tension in his arm (which isn't really supporting any weight). Also he did another live lean in 2002 that was not included in this video.
One heck of a move❤
1:20 whoever threw the bomb sucked super low energy lmao the first person was goin crazy every time 😂
You can see the nails that hook on the feet when he leans XD cook doeeeee
In every single concert, Michael Jackson outperformed the rest of his crew with the lean. He is truly The King of Pop for a reason.
Nobody cares if his shoes are patented,it's still stupidly difficult to make that lean
I like his dance in 1988
I love the Gravity Lean❤…
The shoe 20% but mj hard work 80%
❤❤❤
I love you❤ King of Pop love you Michael Jackson I love you …
The last one makes the others look so impressive. This move puts incredible stress on the Achilles and as an aging superstar he couldn’t put as much pressure on it
Couple of bloopers. At 0:33 the guy toward the back either couldn’t find his peg or it didn’t come up from the stage so he just sort of chills lol. Also, at 1:26, the dude in the front leaned a little too far and almost lost his balance lol
_michael jackson_
And he has time to readjust his hat
1:25 The back up dancer almost fell doing the lean
1:40 what happen???
He was like "Nah, not today!"
To do the move tey get a nail in the ground and hang off it it rly hurts the back to do so he couldnthe was in to mjch pain
😂😂😂, he said i don't need dancing today
He's 39 yrs old there he already old
1. he couldn’t get the nail through on time
2. he was too old and he didn’t wanna hurt his back
3. his nail in the shoe either wasn’t there, or was malfunctioning
You can see the bolts on the ground where they held the shoes for the lean
Did he doing Lean on This is it??
0:34 the side guy is giving respect to the floor by leaning XDD
What non stand users see when a stand user trips and falls
Lmao
I’d be the background dancer who always stretches out his hands to catch himself in case he fell (there was always 1 or 2)
The music progressively gets more and more Sega Genesis
He is a living legend
Living?
Living????
@@coreybrisiel5516 yes
@@LordRizo yes of course..he just died physically but he will be remained always in everyones heart
You’re too late, 13 years too late…
1997 he said Fk y’all 😂😂😂😂💀😂😂
Fr
I guess in the last lean, he maybe felt that he would fell or maybe he had to much pain in his heel, so that's why he didn't lean so much.
(For all the people out there who say he couldn't do it cause he was too tired or too old or something like that)
I think hiss needle couldn't go in the ground so he tried it without it
In Tokyo 96 (iirc it was tokyo, maybe i'm wrong) MJ fell during the lean and since then he didn't go as down as he did in the previous concerts.
0:14 Little Big - Uno
a little big reference, make a wish
Honestly, if MJ was alive today this would be memed on I'm pretty sure
Is there a lean in 1988???
Y'know, I used to be scared that Michael or any of the dancers were gonna tear their Achilles doing that move 😭🙏
Dope that even them detaching themselves from the nail was turned into a dance move.
I just saw how this move is done, but MJ seems to be leaning beyond the 45 degree angle. Still looks difficult on the shins/ankle doing it that far.
Its still very difficult but without the assistance it would be literally impossible.
Who else came here after seeing the clip with the shoes and the nails?
Who else is still like that's so cool? 🤷
Michael Jackson was still the best at this.
He didn't lean much in 1997 1:45 maybe becoz ageing and body ailments
0:33 BUCHAREST
It's Oslo
bucharest was done at night
My ankles could never
1992 he went allll the way down hood lord !!
Incrivel
Dam he really phoned in the 1997 one..
In 1992 I like that one goon who probably wasn attached to the bolts and just pretendet to lean forwards with the rest
Wonder if those shoes ever malfunctioned? You would hit the floor head first. That would explain MJ's nose operations.
In the History World TOur in 1997, he barley even leaned.
He was good
I'm convinced that when he does the lean without shoes he can levitate
Well he is an alien
@@ogBohica and could be agent M
0:49 the explosion sound completes all of this
You could literally see the bolts on the floor 😂💀
0:33 the best lean
Only one lean is replayed in all video
Let’s not forget all the dancers who did the move too; some of them even lower than Michael
Michael, that's jacked up, son.
This move has been broken down. The Shoe Michael design was patented (The one he is wearing) it was for anti gravity allusion and it has a cut out in the bottom so the stage works can put a rod up from the stage floor so it can hook on and make them lean. You can see this happening to a part of the stage going up on the bottom right 1:10
still not easy to do
Yes we know.
THIS IS THE NO HANDS PUSH UP OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
1997 MJ be like : naaaah can't be bothered
1:27 that shit would’ve been so funny if he just fell
Michael Jackson is going a more lower than i thought in 1992
