I add a Bluetooth chip to my iPod mini. It can now be used with Bluetooth speakers and earphones/ headphones. Its actually a pretty straight forward process although it does take quite a while. If you have used a soldering iron before you will be able to do it no problem!
I will have a bunch of these for sale on my website coming soon! As well as links to the chip and a mail in service to get this done to your mini!

I will also have all of the iPod classic custom parts available too!

Good work. Nice to see such old devices being modified to work with modern tech. Nice video but not enough "yeahs".
mega respect, excellent build
Thanks! iv seen some of ur videos before haha
I’m gonna try my hand at this I think. I’d also love to see this module being put in a 6th/7th gen classic for sure!
ok there is level here ! good job my friend :)
You sound like James I can't remember his channel but I know him from dank pods 😂
Looks amazing, What's the BT module? You think it might be doable to an iPod Classic 5th gen? I might try it
HI, Great video, i was just wondering how reliable your cf adapter is since i've heard that generic ones don't work very well and to just use iflash. My issue is that the iflash adapter is pretty expensive especially to ship to Australia.
Nice tutorial, so music data going from the iPod's DAC, to the BT module ADC, and finaly to the BT headphones DAC. How is the sound quality after that? Thats digital to analog to digital to analog again.
Keep it up, nice edits and mic.
I will have to test the sound quality with some better earphones, the ones i used in the video weren't that good as i usually just use my wired ones. But on those, it sounded normal.
You should definitely not throw the old battery in the bin.
How’s it been working so far? I’m thinking of doing the mod. Although I’m not sure my iPods pro 2nd gen will work. Since it has the noise cancellation options on screen.
Hi, hope you don’t mind me asking, but wouldn’t it be easier to simply solder the control button off the board to one of the click wheel buttons?
even though the board is supposed to get 5v its fine off the l-ion battery?
Can you do a video and using it on Ipod Classic?
Does AVRCP controls work with this setup?
When will they come back in stock?
Does this BT module support aptx?
What size wire are you using?
Is it possible to put an test file on your ipod to see if it is really stereo "seperate left and right audio
Because i searchinf for an modul with real stereo the modules i found all are left and right combined to both channels 😢
It has real stereo I'm using that too
Would there be any other way to power the Bluetooth board you know I’m not very comfortable with taking a blade to a battery
You can get batteries that have the control board just covered with some kaptom tape that you can remove with your nails and then solder on. SO there is no need for cutting off the outer layer.
Do you accept mail ins from the US as long as I pay for postage? I have a large box full of ipods that I’d like to get repaired, and I was trying to click the contact button on your website but it wasn’t working. Please let me know :)
Yeah i can, send me an email here: contact@partspluspods.com.au
@@partspluspods3689 thank you, sent :)
Hi! is there a way I can pay for this service for my two old ipods?
Yes I have an option for it on my website!
This is amazing. One issue I have is your SSD adapter has two slots for the MicroSD. Can that work? I put only one 256GB MicroSSD in a single slot adapter. Do you have two slots to put in 512GB or higher --- confused about that.
The dual micro sd card adapter will work with both 1 or 2 micro sd cards. I think the one i used in the video may have a limit of 128GB per slot although im not 100% sure. i havent tried to put more than 128GB in a mini
@@partspluspods3689 I've installed a 256GB San Disk Extreme Pro micro-SD, and Sanwa Micro-SD to CF Adapter. It works perfect (also, the Micro-SD memory is a bit cheaper than the regular SD memory). Rockboxed it, and it is still my daily driver MP3 player listening to audio books, music, and podcasts. It's just amazing quality, and it feels perfect in my hands.
@@partspluspods3689 I've read it's possible to convert that old mini charger cable to USB-A or USB-C. If you can do that, would make for a great video. That's the one thing I'm not thrilled with the old mini, that old dated (iPhone 4S) charger cable.
“The tutorial isn’t hard” the tutorial:
it’s pretty simple actually and he takes his time to explain where to solder the connections
How do you get software for a new memory card?
when you plug it into itunes after installing it it will give you the option to restore it and will reload the software onto the new drive.
Does this work with remote features? Like if I were to use the buttons on my headphones to stop/play the music would it work?
No, this is a transmitter, not a transceiver, also it is only soldered to the headphone jack, there may be ways to do that but you’d need to use, as I said, a transceiver and find a way to solder it to the connections the mini has for that adapter thingie
