That hotel guy is not a doctor, many incorrect techniques. That's so sketchy, I fear for all his "patients". First off, it should be done in a clean sterile environment, he pet her hair with his gloves (which were supposed to be sterile), used cold spray unprotected, no packaged products, syringes laying everywhere on that table, and changing the syringe while leaving the needle in the clients face to say the least, even the way he removed the syringe from the vial, spraying product everywhere suggest he isn't properly trained. Run
The gloves don’t need to be sterile for injections. I highly doubt you have a medical assistant giving you the flu shot with sterile gloves. Sterile gloves come in sealed packages in pairs. Additionally, the cold spray is indeed applied that way. I do agree he is not in the proper environment nor would you use cold spray on the face or for that kind of injection.
I never heard a doctor say magic potion, unless they are reading a bedtime story. Also, if you are 26 and concerned with undereye bags, go for a vacation in a spa resort. Or get a lot of sleep, drink lots of water, and just RELAX.

I worked at Aesop, a skin care company a few years ago. I had a customer come in every week purchasing everything off the shelves. Some people could have under eye bags despite good health care. so idk. but yeah, a lot of the diet and health isnt doing too well these days.
People have medical conditions that can cause eye bags and facial hollowing. I've had my eye bags since childhood, they haven't gone away and my face has been more or less flat for most of my life. To this day, the bags and my face are still like that. I don't look like everyone else, I also have other health issues. Relaxing can't fix it, neither can a day at the spa. The way I look has made me incredibly insecure, I would change it all in a heartbeat if I could. Everyone's got a story and not everything is caused because of aging and people get insecure, leave them be if you're not willing to comfort them.
Since when can a hotel be considered an outpatient clinic? Not a sterile room whatsoever. Screams MRSA. I’d love to see them take a blacklight to it... He should be reported to the medical board.
Not only that but I feel like the lighting was so off with the window on one side and the dark wall on the other, there's no way he could have properly looked at her face and measured how much and where to put them with the improper shadows. I know that may sound silly but seriously the lighting can change how you look at things so much! You'd think there would have been a light such as what they use in the dental office, right above the face.
If he even has license, it needs to be revoked right now. Actually, scratch that, it needed to be revoked years ago. I come from a medical family and this sickens me.

The numbing spray actually isn't that unusual, as I am a PA and used to use it all the time in family medicine in a very similar can to this (and it definitely was NOT outdated). Not only is a doctor working out of a hotel room sketchy and probably illegal, it seems unsanitary. He had syringes and what not scattered across a regular hotel room table. I’m glad Refinery29 was in the room with the young lady getting the procedure. As a woman, I would not want to meet him alone in a hotel room of all places, extremely unprofessional. Also he seemed very rough, I wouldn’t be surprised if she was very bruised the next day. No doctor in an office would approve of that many syringes in one visit.
Did you not listen to the video? Unfortunately, the FDA has not caught up with the times, especially with regenerative medicine procedures. Thus, stem cell / amniotic fluid / platelet rich plasma injections are most commonly done "off the record". No insurance company in the U.S. will regulate or cover these procedures at the moment. It wouldn't surprise me that he would need to rent out a hotel room to proceed with this. It is still completely safe, and obviously, he is a licensed plastic surgeon. As to the amount of syringes, there is no issue with that. He may not be even using all of them for that one patient. My only concern is that he keep his work area sterile.
Natalie Better yet he said he did not want to answer the question of safety or rather the legality of being in the hotel room hummm but he allowed himself to be on camera does not seem very wise but then again he probably is running a straight cash tax free operation that way...
He didn't prepare his sterile field properly...he kept reaching for random things on the table. How he didn't even wipe down the face with some antiseptic solution was shady. How he aspirated the contents of the vial was all wrong...some of the stuff even fell out. How he just stuck the needle below her eye sockets while it wobbled was shady. How he touched the things on the table with his dominant hand is gross. Ever heard of aseptic technique. Also, he was dealing with blood...why use just clean gloves. And why no mask? He's a doctor...he should be aware of universal precaution. Red flags....red flags everywhere.
Not only that, but he did it in extremely poor lighting claiming he would reshape her face... He seemed to just poke and prod at random. Also, he didn't even shield her eyes when spraying the numbing cream right next to them!! So cringy!
Your eye for detail is awesome. If anyone on here remembers, hotels are used in expose's on how dirty some places can be. This basically is the rich white version of how many poor people in past decades were "pumped" with illegal concoctions in similar environments.
The girl in the hotel room did not even look better... She was beautiful before, now she has a pumped face with unknown substances applied by a shady person in a shady hotel room... wtf?!
I agree this looks really shady but i’m sure the swelling went away after a while. Her body reacted to getting inhected foreign substances like any body would: swelling.
It’s not Botox, you don’t see immediate results. She had a reaction to a foreign substance being injected Into her skin. After a couple days/weeks she’ll see improvements that will last years
I think he does it for celebrities and to friends, whoever, where ever he wants really. He is in NYC so he knows the danger of incrimination and the law. He was responsible with his words.
Masochistic Suicidie Eh, it's the whole 'eat your veggies because children are starving in Africa.' Morally it is greedy or wasteful, yes, but in no way does it help the needy if they stopped. It actually could make it harder- the more commonplace the treatments become, the more experimentation and documentation and legalizing will occur. It could also become drastically more affordable and more accessible. My paralyzed cousin has to go to Panama for these treatments- if you know anything about people in wheelchairs, then you know flying is a huge hassle because security and transporting everything needed (also embarrassment.) That's on top of health concerns with pressure and blood circulation of the legs/bed sores/etc.
When I had my first child in 2002 I remember after the delivery they were focused on getting the placenta out. When they got it out they carefully put it in a sterilized pan on a separate cart from instruments, etc. my husband wanted to get closer to me and the baby and walked by the placenta cart and the nurse was so upset and scared my husband not to even go near it as if he'll catch a disease. It was really odd but after finding out how valuable it is I understand why the nurse was so uptight. They didn't ask anyone for permission and are taking thousands of placentas for free and are selling them to pharmaceutical companies and others. God know what they're doing with our DNA.
Yep! Probably why they push so hard to get babies circumcised, when you do the research it is not necessary nor beneficial enough to be doing something so drastic, but they always recommend it.
That 26 year old girl broke my heart. Makes me so grateful that smartphones and social media weren't around when I was her age. So much has changed in a decade and a half. It didn't even occur to me to wear make-up yet except on very special occasions. I can understand the incredible value of this work for burns victims or other disfigurements. But at 26? Your face is untouched and perfect. Very sad. And agree this "doctor" was sooooo dodgy.
ok. need an update on the girl from the hotel!!!! that guy was sketchy af! is she ok? how long did it last? any difference or did she end up with issues? seriously!!!!... ugh... the world may never know...
How is he not in jail! How is he still doing this? He probably doesn't even have his medical license which is why he's performing procedures in hotel rooms.
It’s really hard to sue or press charges unless there’s harm done. I tried to sue a guy pretending to be a plastic surgeon, who did hair transplant surgeries... he’s in Alabama, stoke $3,000 from us. The laws really don’t protect the people.
You guys have to do a follow up on this story! That “Dr. Mayrcks” is so shady! I looked him up and he definitely needs to get reviewed! The disfigurement he’s done to one of his “clients” is just astounding!

Actually some sunscreens can harm the environment, especially the ocean. A lot of these products have ingredients harmful for marine life. Shady actually did a documentary on that
"Finished! And were done!" She looks to the right and WHHAATT!!! It looks terrible! Shady doctor doing illegal practices. "I make no guarantees, I dont use the products out of the box." Well that says volumes! Why is he doing it out of a hotel room anyway? Its unsanitary and weird, not to mention all the health guidelines hes probably breaking. Its like having a backyard abortion, only with someone wearing a suit and saying hes done it on himself. So.. what happens if everything goes wrong and the shit hits the fan for this girl who had who knows what injected by this creepy doctor? I bet he would be uncontactable all of a sudden and mysteriously hes no longer in that hotel. This is insanity.
recently, here in Brazil, I saw a case that a "doctor" was doing something similar, he was doing plastic surgery in his apartment, people used to call him "Doutor Bumbum" (doctor butt in English), a woman died because of him, then other cases started to come out and he was not the only "doctor" doing shit to patients and killing them... ( I don't know if I wrote something wrong in english)
Wtf, working in a hotel room !? That’s so wrong ! And the fact that he denied answering her questions about it, that just shows how wrong it is ! . And wiggling that big needle around, that made me feel awful.
We need a follow up on this young woman’s face. Is it swollen? Or is that the final result? I remember when I got my lip pierced it was so swollen afterwards and I was convinced it would never go down. The first few days were awful feeling but then my lip went back to normal and I loved it. Is this is case with her? If not, I feel insanely sad for her.
@@heatherchando5873 I did some research… her name is Melissa Klein @melonklein . After the procedure she cried and begged the shit doctor to take the fillers out but he refused. Oh also, she asked refinery29 to removed the video but they declined. I suppose I understand… She said she cannot bring herself to ever watch the video
this guy seems way to shady for me even if the procedure seems interesting. first not wanting to answer about working in a hotel room ( non- sterile environment ) and then taking advantage of what ppl donated in good faith... no thank you
You must not have much experience with needles. As long as the needles aren't shared and the doc knows what he is doing (which he clearly does), everything is gucci, especially for the discounted price she is getting. Non invasive cosmetic procedures just involving needles would simply need alcohol swabs if any at all. The numbing agent might be a concern as you mentioned, but I don't know enough about the product he is using to make any valid statement.
Michael Yalcin The fact that he is breaking the skin with a needle makes this an invasive procedure. He should’ve used aseptic technique and cleansed the injection site before hand. He could transmit bacteria (ex: staph) to her underlying tissues and cause an infection. Did he even wash his hands? Place medicine and equipment on a clean area? IDK. Feels like the makings for an episode of “BOTCHED”
@@Teakela Honestly the amount of construction I've done with cuts on my hands, arms, legs, feet etc working in filthy environments and my health is fine. If she was a sickly child or elderly person it would be a different story.
Heck yeah. She dosent even seem fully confident in what shes doing. She cant explain exactly how it works and lactic acid is not even a filler. I can see her being on the next episode of botched
Long story short, what he meant by "I don't use the product out of the box" is that he likely does a combination of directly consuming placenta, purchases young donor blood from the black market to drink, or receives regular blood transfusions from healthy donors to boost blood plasma. Reality is stranger than fiction...
She looked fine. Even with regular fillers you’re swollen and look a bit crazy for a short time. By the end of the video the swelling had gone down a lot. However, this doctor is... disturbing. He has all of his stuff out on a hotel table. This is not a clean environment. FYI- the reason the “needle” was wiggling like that is because it’s actually called a cannula, which is slightly different, very thin and very flexible.
Wow the first doctor is doing cutting edge stuff with your own blood in a clinical situation. It’s weird but not so shady. That last doctor is sooooo sketchy. Operating out of hotel rooms? Very suspect.
c they are trained by nurses and watched the several times they do it at first to make sure they aren't making a mistake I would know since I plan on getting a central line and plan on taking care of it myself. But anything that is fabric will hold bacteria so her clothes and the upholstery on the chair that is why doctors chairs are covered in a plastic or made out of a thin rubber material. The other thing that's sketch to me is that numbing spray normally it takes several minutes if not a half hour numbing medication to work it's way down. This is in no way safe for the patient this "doc" will be sued for malpractice and get everything taken away it's one crazy to do ground breaking science on yourself as history and science prove. Like the doctor that took his own appendix out. But to do it on some one else in this setting is irresponsible inconsiderate and absolutely intollerable

I didn’t see him alcohol her face. I would have suggested iodine even. I agree it does scream MRSA.
And what if there's a complication. No ER to save the client
If he even has license, it needs to be revoked right now. Actually, scratch that, it needed to be revoked years ago. I come from a medical family and this sickens me.
SeabassFishbrains she looked so warped... her poor face.
He’s treating “wrinkles” and “bags” of a 26 y.o.??? Congrats Doctor Hotel 🙄. I hope someone investigated him. The last time I saw numbing freeze spray for injections in that type of aerosol can was around 1988???
"Dr." Maercks should be sued for malpractice, etc. He really answered, "I don't think I should answer that question" when asked about the legality of his methods and was evasive in general. Can't wait to see who's going to be first. Highly recommend plugging his name into Google and looking at the review from Yvette Hernandez at his FL location. What this "doctor" is getting away with is criminal. 🤷🏻♀️
The numbing spray actually isn't that unusual, as I am a PA and used to use it all the time in family medicine in a very similar can to this (and it definitely was NOT outdated). However, literally EVERYTHING else about his "procedure" is sketchy AF. The fact that this man still has a license, let alone still has his own practice in Miami, is the epitome of why so many people don't trust healthcare providers...

@maurice wilson ??? Shes talking about hygiene standard??
Well it's the dumb girls fault of anything goes awry. What schmuck goes to a hotel room to get a medical procedure?
My only concern is that he keep his work area sterile.
briannaelena are you in a medical field? I am, there’s nothing safe about what just happened In this hotel
So cringy!
no bluey on the table either. Not to mention it was a mess
Pre-Med Maddie Bluey??
Your eye for detail is awesome. If anyone on here remembers, hotels are used in expose's on how dirty some places can be.
This basically is the rich white version of how many poor people in past decades were "pumped" with illegal concoctions in similar environments.
Yeah this is the sketchiest shit ever, it's not even difficult to set up a mostly sterile field like this is lazy and dangerous

It's a waste and almost a disrespect to use it for vain purposes. Only people that have injuries or the disabled should use it.

My point is they are supposed to be used for the disabled or people that are injured. Not wrinkles
Why can’t we just accept how we look.
Agree :)

@@fathom2732 what this person is saying is that the spray (whether its anesthetic or nitrogen) could have hurt her eyes.
Michael Yalcin The fact that he is breaking the skin with a needle makes this an invasive procedure. He should’ve used aseptic technique and cleansed the injection site before hand.
