      @diann h that's a pretty broad statement. All cops over the world? Or the obvious, just miami? If ur speaking in ppl profiting/gaining then the whole Miami skyline was from the illicit sales of blow and the whole city will tell u this. Miami had more monies in their federal reserve branch than all the other repositories COMBINED. The cops were a minor link on the chain. Ur obviously not aware how this worked. Ur also probably not aware that the US former president George HW Bush Sr. ironically had blow and guns coming outbound and inbound @ Homestead air force base , which up until 1993 I believe was a real AFB. When u make broad statements u spread disinformation/miseducated statements about history. Don't forget the Marianna boat life shot crime thru the roof as Castro claimed he: " flushed Cuba's toilet on the US." It all played an obvious role. Educate urself before spreading uneducated history. Good day

    The 'funniest' thing about this is the reporter at the debuting of SCARFACE immediately after the Dadeland coverage. What's 'funny' is one of the Dadeland shooters Rivi Ayala was at the one of the debut showings of SCARFACE. He says this in COCAINE COWBOYS. "At one point Ayala talks recalls how he and 10 other hit men went to see “Scarface” and they laughed at the scene in which hitmen failed to gun down the character, Tony Montoya."

      @ScorpioBornIn69 5 місяців тому +3

      This made headlines in the early-mid 1980's nationwide, showed lots of it on the news growing up in metro Chicago. It got so bad that Reagan almost sent in the National Guard, though did send some law enforcers to stop the carnage. It had a bad impact on tourism which is significant of Miami's economy, dropped as much as 75% as tourists were terrified to come to Miami and most of south Florida. Miami I heard back in 1983 was declared as 'Paradise Lost'. Since then, it has had recovered, however the drugs wars delt Miami a black eye leaving a pernament scar. It still has some problems today since it has given it a bad reputation. Tourism though is back in full throttle. As for being paradise lost, today that would be California.

    Our government loves this & is the sole cause of all this violence. It could all be stopped with one single move: legalizing all drugs. By doing that, you remove the incentive for cartels, gangs, smugglers, dealers & other violent criminals to get involved at any level. You simply don't see this with beer or cigarettes, although you did when alcohol prohibition was in effect.
