I just wanted to come back and day "Thank you for what you do!" I used so much information from your video 2 days ago. My boyfriend and I are currently in Puerto Rico for his bday. Going to Vieques Island was a dream and we had sooo much fun. The golf cart place is still there; however, the phone number has changed after the hurricane. We found it walking around- about 10min from port. We drove that entire island on the Gold cart and those horses were the highlight for my boyfriend - he actually asked me to write this🤗. If I would have known about you guysI could have talked to my uncle in vieques and he would have taken you to so many places and knowing him like I know him you could have stayed in his house for nothing. But now a day's he's sick got operated and can't do thing's like he used to, but I know he could hook you up with people that are responsible and the first thing he'll say is there family so treat them good $. As soon as he's back in vieques I'm going to ask him to get me some information about who came help you guys for next time who yo look for that way you don't have to spend so much money. We recently went to Culebra and Vieques in August and it was amazing. We stayed in Esperanza for two nights and loved the party vibes and restaurants. We rented a jeep because it was a weekend and all the scooters were rented out. We went to Playa Chiva, Caracas(best), Negra, and Grande but we didn’t see Navio. I wish i had went! There wasn’t as much flotsom in the water so it was really clear. The horses just gave it a surreal vibe AND you can totally pet them. We petted a few and they are friendly. We even went skinny dipping and saw the big Ceiba tree as well as the bio bay tour. There is a neat museum in Isabel II(ferry town) on the hill with incredible views. We absolutely loved Vieques.
I went through the entire Vieques island with my rental which was a minivan 🚐. Definitely can travel all around I went to some remote places . My uncle worked there and knew every inch of it . But the buggy looks fun though
We just went back in June for the third time. Brought my sister and brother n law for their first time, no surprise they loved it! 🇵🇷 seems to get better every time we go, can’t wait to return soon! ❤
For I think its $26.00 and with reservation you could transport your car or rented car from main land to vieques or culebra in the ferry... Just you have to make the reservation and be there before 4am (if you want the first trip, because the second one is at 9am)
Nice video! There's so much more to see in Vieques, like Mosquito Bay (Brightest Bay in the World), Mosquito Pier, Mount Pirata, the history behind these places and names, etc. I loved the video, I'm happy you enjoyed your visit in Isla Nena!!

But so far u are right flamenco beach is number 1! There’s another nice beach on the main land in Cabo rojo that’s beautiful n the water is calm also.
Nice seeing you having a good time in PR. Caracas is not the best beach in vieques. You have to go to blue beach in vieques. And a little secret about Vieques, it has a bioluminescent bay. You definitely have to go.
Is crazy how is summer all year round but locals go to the beach only from May thru July. You went in great time because is less crowded in summer every beach will be very pack.

Old video but I'm happy you enjoyed it. My father was born on that island, all my family on his side still live there. I use to go every summer as a kid. I believe that 2nd beach you guys went to is where I got stung by a jelly fish lol. Did you go see El Fortín de Conde Mirasol Museum? there is a closed down, very small convenience store right across the street from there.. My grandfather use to own it. Everyone needs to go to Vieques atleast once in their lives :)
I spent this past November and December working in Esperanza. Got to meet the real Viequenses (rebel hearts for sure). Horses, roosters, luscious beaches, and pride. I'll be back. Less Airbnb's would be nice, unless owned by natives. Just saying...

Cheers! I think my favorite days were Vieques, culebra and Gilligans island. Crash boat beach and the waterfall nearby was also awesome. To be honest everything there was amazing, it was e ultimate vacation!
Flamenco easily the most beautiful but cirques was more fun because we got to see more on the scooter. You can also rent scooter on culebra though so it is hard to compare since I didn’t rent one in culebra

Hey! that is where am from I was raised there and is a great place to go especially if you're in love, winter is best the temp there is 85 the highest mostly 75 in the summer is like 90 and at night you wish for some raion so you can catch some shut-eye. Next year (2020) is our year, I think but after seeing your videos, we're torn. I know this is going to be a very hard question for you to answer, but if you only had one week and were going to choose only one island (Culebra or Vieques), which one would you choose?

Yeah Culebra has the best beach playa flamenco but the day in vieques was more fun but probably largely due to being able to cruise around on the golf buggy. And you are right that vieques was less crowded for sure although culebra also wasnt busy at all when we went. Its a tough decision indeed! Vieques has more beaches to choose from as it is bigger.

Really discourage renting a golf cart. Many of the roads are very narrow, with blind turns, and I have come up on golf carts while I am in a Jeep quickly. If you have a collision, you won't get trauma related care on the island. Great place to visit and have been there 4 times.
Lord Vic I would have transportation to get to the better beaches, because the public transportation will take you there, but you won’t see them again. I use Martiza rental. They will pick you up and drop you off at the airport or ferry terminal, and their prices are reasonable. The golf carts worry me because roads are narrow and have blind turns, if you ran into another vehicle , you don’t have much protection.

Liked the variety of your video. And loved the drone shots really got to see the beauty from above. And yes, as someone mentioned in the comments, the bioluminescent bay is really worth doing if you go back. Like nothing you'll see elsewhere. But obviously it has be done at night.
Thanks for sharing. Did you rent a car in Puerto Rico to get you to ceiba? Or did you just take a cab? I plan on taking my daughter at the end of June and the idea is to stay in old San Juan and plan a day in Vieques.
If you are in Old San Juan, the trip to Isla Grande aeropuerto isn't far, and you can fly Vieques Airlink. Very reliable service. The ferry has been less than reliable, and can be hard to get a ticket sometimes. To me, I want more time on Vieques and like VAL for that purpose
karstdvr thank you so much. Will consider. The only issue is that we have a small emotional support dog that we are planning to take with us on the trip and I am not sure if dogs are allowed on the smaller planes .

On this day we just left it at the beach, the beaches were pretty deserted so we didn’t think it would get stolen. On the mainland we would just put our stuff in our rental car

@@tien90802 I am an islander Puerto Rican. I have never had my stuff stolen at any beach. I would leave them on the beach, keep and eye on them from a distance and chill. Puerto Rico is not as safe as Spain, where I live now (we really leave things for a long time to drink or eat tapas at the chiringuito), but it is a very safe place. Take into account that in per capita income in Puerto Rico doubles the highest in Latin America and even matches developed european countries. You are not going to get pick pocketed down there, that is for sure. Just be about your wits and you´ll be safe.

Yeah google maps works for the most part, download the offline map on google maps and then you will be fine even without internet 😁👍

Did you like Culebra better or Vieques? Im going soon and cant decide which to visit. From the video Vieques looked more relaxing and less crowded.
Yeah Culebra has the best beach playa flamenco but the day in vieques was more fun but probably largely due to being able to cruise around on the golf buggy. And you are right that vieques was less crowded for sure although culebra also wasnt busy at all when we went. Its a tough decision indeed! Vieques has more beaches to choose from as it is bigger.

You say you rent a golf cart to explore the island and visit 3 amazing beaches?
Yeah!
Really discourage renting a golf cart. Many of the roads are very narrow, with blind turns, and I have come up on golf carts while I am in a Jeep quickly. If you have a collision, you won't get trauma related care on the island. Great place to visit and have been there 4 times.

Lord Vic I would have transportation to get to the better beaches, because the public transportation will take you there, but you won’t see them again. I use Martiza rental. They will pick you up and drop you off at the airport or ferry terminal, and their prices are reasonable. The golf carts worry me because roads are narrow and have blind turns, if you ran into another vehicle , you don’t have much protection.

karina fuentes depends on what you want. If you want pristine beaches, Culebra. If you want to explore and party, Vieques.
Can you take your car to the island? If not is there a safe place to leave it? (We're traveling next month to the island)

Liked the variety of your video. And loved the drone shots really got to see the beauty from above. And yes, as someone mentioned in the comments, the bioluminescent bay is really worth doing if you go back. Like nothing you'll see elsewhere. But obviously it has be done at night.
Thanks for sharing. Did you rent a car in Puerto Rico to get you to ceiba? Or did you just take a cab? I plan on taking my daughter at the end of June and the idea is to stay in old San Juan and plan a day in Vieques.
Yes I rented a car for my entire trip there
If you are in Old San Juan, the trip to Isla Grande aeropuerto isn't far, and you can fly Vieques Airlink. Very reliable service. The ferry has been less than reliable, and can be hard to get a ticket sometimes. To me, I want more time on Vieques and like VAL for that purpose
karstdvr thank you so much. Will consider. The only issue is that we have a small emotional support dog that we are planning to take with us on the trip and I am not sure if dogs are allowed on the smaller planes .
VAL charges $15 each way for a pet.

On this day we just left it at the beach, the beaches were pretty deserted so we didn’t think it would get stolen. On the mainland we would just put our stuff in our rental car

@@JumpingPlaces Oh ok. Yeah, I'm always hearing of beaches being a bad place to leave your stuff (like Rio) so I'm always thinking that you have to take it with you in some sort of waterproof bag.
@@tien90802 I am an islander Puerto Rican. I have never had my stuff stolen at any beach. I would leave them on the beach, keep and eye on them from a distance and chill. Puerto Rico is not as safe as Spain, where I live now (we really leave things for a long time to drink or eat tapas at the chiringuito), but it is a very safe place. Take into account that in per capita income in Puerto Rico doubles the highest in Latin America and even matches developed european countries. You are not going to get pick pocketed down there, that is for sure. Just be about your wits and you´ll be safe.
