Great work. All I can add to the discussion is winter in Clearwater, Florida. Best snowblower fix ever. You will never jamb the impeller with another "free newspaper". Seriously though, it never hurts to have a free garbage picked rehab standby unit waiting when another confounded newspaper gets completely jammed in the impeller drive.
I must say thank you to you Sir to your great advice on helping this 60 plus old guy getting the gift I got from a friend. 622 toro from the year 2000 called power throw. All your great advice helped me. Thanks again. It ran for two hours today in my front yard and all throughout my back yard so my dog can walk. Thanks again My idle won’t stay it stalls.
@@EliminatorPerformance yes I agree with what you say. I have very little tools in my garage. I’m more of a city guy because of where I grew up. But I’m sure interested in learning anything to help me. I have been living in suburban for some years now usually take all my carro a shop. But small engines I try my best to make it work. John.
Awesome tutorial, great shop living room, and I have a new definition of "Looks brand new". Subbed when I heard you say "Dickered Skidders"! LMFAO! Thanks!
I would agree that a lot of machines out there have clutch linkages that are out of adjustment. Those adjustments are critical to the safety of their users and the life of the machine itself. I found on my Toro 421 that the wheel drive wasn't tight enough so some of the gear ranges and reverse gear did not work. A simple adjustment got it working again. I like Toro's use of linkage rods instead of cables (they don't stretch).
If you look at steel bed frames, they have almost identical skid plate pieces, with the bolt slots even. On mine I added a 8" long x 2" wide 1/4 thick piece of steel - I also added small rubber wheels at the back and front, so the lip wouldn't bottom out and get damaged. Now I can push it around the garage with 1 finger.
i got almost the ame old girl except mine's the 11/30. A buddy gave me mine in two halves and said it ate belts. put in a new belt and put it together, straightened the tension arm wheel to be in more, and then it was good. i gotta flush and relube the transfer case and replace my auger chute cable and restring the pull start (that isnt a priority, its electric start as well, still works. Just actually came in from the shed putting her away after clearing up after a typical newfoundland west coast snow storm. I need to put in a few more bolts, as she came to me missing some, then putting the bellypan back on, but these old girls are built solid, and will treat you well if you treat them well. This spring i gotta weld a small crack in the impeller area, and then paint over the surface-rusted areas with converter and then see if Crappy Tire can match the paint for an enamel and cover that all up. i may also see about replacing the OG light with an LED array.
I have the same snow blower mine is a few years older same model so I did my homework and bought a Ariens 24 inch Deluxe what a beast on snow wet or powder😀
The mix I use and have been using for 5 years is, 50% simple green purple, 25% distilled white vinegar, and 25% distilled water, it's safe and won't harm the environment, or pets, or you, don't leave the carb in the sause for longer then 1hr it will discolor the aluminum, rinse with warm water, and blow out with compressed air, if the ultrasonic cleaner has a dump valve hook up a clear section of tubing and a regular briggs red fuel filter, and a briggs paper fuel filter and it cleans the liquid almost clean, then you can reuse the liquid over and over again, I would dispose of the liquid after 6 months of normal use, great video.
nice restoration. so did you wind up sandblasting or wire brushing the rust off that you repaired? also how was the paint applied by brush? and did you have to put a primer or some type of rust restorer before applying the top green coat?
Wire wheeled it, paint was applied by brush. Nothing under it, just a light coat 1st then thicker over top that. And yes we use rust converter before painting.

Hey Jake, your videos are great. On this video you mentioned Port Colborne and I stopped the video and recognized that you are my cousin Ron’s neighbour where I have visited many times in the past. I have done a few carb cleans and setting on Tecumseh 8 hp Craftsman 825 and now on a Toro Snow King 826 LE (same engine but much newer). Something is not running right on it though. It seems to get choked up when getting a good feed of snow, sputters a bit then catches up. I’ve set the fuel mixture screw (fuel not air - based on one of you videos) at 1.25 out and the main jet at 1.75 out., idle at 1.5 out. It gets a fast idle not want to lower and the suddenly it does. Also I feel that it can run a little more rev at high end. I’m going to take it apart and carb clean again to see if it will improve. Any ideas what might be the problem? Loris
Probably the carb, best bet is to get a replacement carb on amazon for like $25-35 and it'll start 1st pull, just make sure the bottom bowl nut is tight sometimes they're loose.
@@EliminatorPerformance thanks I’ve been contemplating doing that. I’m probably going to transfer the carb from the Craftsman 825 to the Toro. Is there a code somewhere that would tell me if the carbs are identiche or not. I believe they are.
