@@JeffersonDD Have you bought any more reel to reel tapes that you can show us?
@@freightdawg6762 not since the Gillian Welch / David Rawlings, no. However I should do a video and share some of my highlights.
I realize that this is a vinyl video but, I am posting a comment about your other interest reel to reel. I have been doing a lot of looking around & finding either old stock or super expensive new ones for small companies. I was wondering if in all you knowledge concerning decks if you had heard of anyone like Teac, etc. having any plans to produce a good quality deck for a resonable price? I wonder because of the re-intoduction of so many new turntables, cassette decks & CD players. Any info you might have or where to direct my search would be greatly appreciated! Also, nice vinyl adventure!
There are a few companies that are trying to reintroduce reel to reels, but the market is limited and expensive. Check out my “Audiophile Reel to reel video”; specifically the link to Dave Deyners page (the Reel to Reel Rambler). I believe he has more info and links to the manufacturers. All that said, I’m not aware of any activity under the TEAC / Tascam name.
Your best bet for “Reasonable” is a refurbished Otari MX 5050 B2 HD. Insanely reliable and stable. With good heads they’ll last a long time. Other options are refurbished Revox A77 (HS) or a few others. Most important find a good tech. Please watch my other video where I cover all this in more detail. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your quick response & info, will check all your suggestions & videos!
