In the 60's and early 70's before Xerox copy machines, we had Mimeograph machines. We as kids LOVED the smell of the fresh blue ink; it had some sort of an enticing scent that seemed addictive. However the scent would dissipate after a few minutes.
The paper grocery bag covers were to protect the book covers. I don't know about now but we would have to pay for the book if not returned to the school in the same pristine shape as you got it. Plus it gave you something to doodle on in class and still look attentive.
Ahhh, that makes sense I guess. I know it is sort of coming back as people like how it looks. I can't even handle dust covers - just take them straight off lol. Thanks for watching and commenting and answering my question. Love it.
I wanna get an encyclopedia set and looked them up. They still make them and they still aren't cheap. Even for an old years edition its costly. Current year is over a thousand dollars. Awesome video. UA-cam is killing it with these recommendations tonight. I subscribed.
Yes I still have the set we got in 1985. I love the look of them on the shelves. But unfortunately it's all outdated now and a bit of a waste of space. But I'm hanging onto them. Thanks for watching and commenting.
In kindergarten I had a Disney school bus lunch box. From that point on school breakfast and lunch which were home cooked type food as good as a really good restaurant of back then. When I started school I was ambidextrous but was forced to use my right hand. Anytime I do something that was not learned in school I am still ambidextrous. In 74-75 6th grade my pencil case had dials on front and when turned it would show the state and capital of that state. All through school, we carried books and all by hand, no book bags. In elementary school I road a pinto horse to school. In 9th grade I road a 10spd bicycle to school and work, a grocery store bag boy. In high school I have a portable typewriter
I LOVE this! It was always my dream to ride a horse to and from school! I'm so sorry you were forced to use right hand. It can be hard being left-handed but I think it makes us think out of the box more because we live in a world not designed for us. In very, very early school, around 1985 I had an older teacher who tried to get me to write with my right hand (for my own good) but I couldn't do it. It will be different for people depending on the teacher but it makes me so sad to think about kids that failed school just because people didn't understand that it is okay to be left-handed. Thanks so much for watching and for this awesome comment!
As an early 2000s kid, most of these things were still popular when I was in elementary school.

That's so cool. I haven't heard about sniffing the Mimeograph before. Love it. Thanks for watching.
