They loved them couldn't get enough of them. it was a gr8 experience goin down to Massawa on the train passin through the tunnels was awesome. An experience i'll never forget. memories i'll take to the grave with me
Thanks for the comment, the coastal plain of Eri trea is very arid,a bit more rainfall falls on the mountains where we noticed eucalpyts had been planted. There is a reasonable amount of tourists going there now.
The train was doing a runby for us,the cargo wagon contained coal and tools in case of breakdown, you do get some smoke in the tunnels some which are quite long.
Nice video,The topography, landscape and the tunnel looks so much like in the central India.I remember traveling in Steam engine driven train but now we got rid of them.
I was in Eritrea with the un 5 years ago and i played Bagpipes on that train. It was the first time it had ran on the line in years apparently. Beautiful country♠♠
That's interesting how you panned back from the last tunnel exit to where the train first appeared to show the context of the traverse it made along the mountain's side. Could you tell if that was cargo and/or passengers? If passenger's they must have got a lung-full going in and out of the tunnels.
