Cool guys don't look at explosions the voice is just like that because the heroin cocaina and weed the haird is just dirty and i think he dont like much the bears in this point
***** That's also my opinion (cause everyone has their own preferences in music and people). But I think we are on the same page: Layne Staley's voice is very special and influential to say the least. He's my favorite grunge singer of all time, and so with other 90s kid.. John Frusciante though was one of my guitar heros along with Hendrix, Angus & Malcolm Young, Jimmy Cantrell and so many others.. Not to mention my man; the living legend Flea..
CatarinaMart younger energy his nose not broke still had teeth plus no facial surgery so we are lucky to have this moving photograph it comforts me became that year was the last of a certain innocence I try to recreate in my own music
Anthony said on his book that they where like brother. But, it's a fact that john was very sensible and AK was a mf at the time. John started bwing resentful towards AK and then left the band when they where touring on Japan in january 92.
Ive come to realize it was flea who he deep down couldn’t accept it was not AK i read scar tissue and John and Ak we’re closer and flea was jealous and he instigated fights to separate them
+Jamie Wang and because Anthony was sorta messing with him, Anthony thought he was just being a bro but slowly John grew to kinda hate Anthony in a way
Charlie Browm no they were not only john was using . Anthony stopped using after hillel slovaks death and he was being so rough on john using because he didn't want another friend to die because of drugs.
@@MrMitchell2002 Anthony did NOT stop using heroin after Hillel. Hillel died in 1988, Anthony got clean & sober in 2000. Read his book Scar Tissue for that info.
i really think that some stuff hes telling in this interview is absoluetly brilliant and only can come from a real clear mind, no matter if hes using drugs or not his mind really seems clear and brilliant
He has been there, the life of a junkie. Even as a junkie his words sounds wise in my ears. Today he's another person than 20 years ago. A nice person but after all a great artist. A thinker.
+Herman van Ingen The problem with drugs- the only problem imo is if you let them take over your life you tend to shut everyone else out, which is awful because once you shut people out you no longer have someone to tell you what sucks and whats great, and you end up thinking everything you do is great, and once that happens it only gets worse. You gotta have that opposite reaction in life in order to keep you in check instead of spending ages writing bullshit that you think is genius, because you're on drugs. I'm not anti-drug at all but its like i said, sometimes it gets too easy to lose sight of yourself, then again that mostly happens with shit like heroin, but thats not to say heroin hasn't given us some good music, it has, but its kinda rare when it happens cause mostly its just you standing around going nuts wondering why everyone thinks that you're an asshole.
Drugs are great to squeeze creation out of your mind. But times come when you are well squeezed , drained, dry and useless. Then the drug become a way to bear yourself. Death is near. John found a way to save himself. He decided not to enter the rock n roll pantheon of druged dead genius (looong list...) but stay alive as a (great) guitarist with problems.
Ver esta entrevista en momentos difíciles es como una terapia para mi me hace sentir menos ansioso creo que se debe al saber que hay alguien más como Frusciante que pasó las mismas cosas y hasta más duras que yo e pasado
when you hear him say he was happy when watching the sounds waves bouncing around you know hes special how jimi was in the he could see and feel sound with a different sense than a normal person
john saw this period of his life as a rebirth, in a very positive way, and i love him for that. this right here is the most real person that has ever lived. dont do drugs.
Broken bones thanks for uploading this bro. I appreciate this. I actually have a video I want on UA-cam myself but I dont know how because its like 1 hour and 45 minutes long. How me out bro, Thanks.
I hope people watching this know what John knows now. Drugs like heroin are pleasure drugs and they do work for awhile, but people don't need to use them to understand anything. John was VERY lucky to get out of his addiction relatively unharmed. He had some money, got support, and made a great comeback. I am so glad John quit the hard drugs before it was too late, like it was for so many.
And the part about Anthony, hmm.. hard to say, his lyrics are very well thought about. Maybe he puts just as much time, effort and life in them, as John puts in guitar playing. I gotta say RHCP are one of the greatest bands in the world, not because they made the best songs.. but they're just 4 individually great, really great, musicians. And together they tend to form one greater band. It's like they were the first "super" band.
I feel so sorry for him at this time.. he's just an artist and somehow a tortured soul.. maybe ill. His music is so damn beautiful and i hope he will be happy with the rhcp again!!
Yes, in scar tissue, it says that around a year or 2 before he quit, him and anthony were really tense. they kept fighting and anthony would always be acting like a control freak. they basically didnt talk. it went so far, that in one of their last performances together, as anthony thought it was, john started playing a wierd version of under the bridge that didnt sound right and was completely off key and anthony couldnt sing.
Japanese Leg On May 7 (after that nights performance), guitarist John Frusciante quit the band. This resulted in the rest of the Japanese leg being cancelled, as well as an Australian leg, which the band would have played after the Japanese leg. 1992.
I love anthony's book. I just got to their saturday night live incident, and i wonder how frusciante winds up back here after quiting. Where is navarro?!
17 years fighting opiate addiction, back on methadone for the 4th time but been stable a year and living a fairly normal life again, but had to move to the UK where I got family, and the methadones free. If I was still the states, pretty sure I'd be dead now
im glad when john said 'i COULD insult some people...' the interview said 'nah you dont need to' or whatever. he COULD have been a douche and said 'yeah insult them' and that may have like.. cut ties with anthony and chad all together. that would have been bad... i like how the interviewer cares about john there and isn't totally in it just for the views...
Hey, this song were performed in 1997 in Viper Room, it's the first part of "Unknown" song that John sang on Vpro 94 ("helen around you has nothing to do with those snakes and fakes they think we give to them .." or something like this). If you need it I can send you this song, just pm me.
My guess. Heroin makes you itchy as fuck. Some people find beards to be itchy. 1+1= he probably scratched his face raw and said fuck that I'm gonna shave everyday. Or he shaved for the interview.
Haha, my name is Anthony, too. I felt like he was serenading me at the very end, lol. Truly, a very underrated guitarist, one of the few left even worth listening to. Though born in '91, I rock the shit before my time, so I listen to virtualy nothing since the death of Kurt Cobain. Frusciante is a great exception to that rule. Wisdom, musically and as far as life in general is concerned. Right on. Peace.
He decided to surf the wave of his drugs use/abuse. I guess he was consumed by his demons here, including the death of River Phoenix of which , maybe, he felt somehow responsible for. It's a miracle he survived this.
He was a rich man by the time he was 25 he was consumed by indulgent desire, the ultimate high, again and again and again.... If he would've died it would have been from an overdose of pleasure.
Na, It's a team effort. Chad and Flea have dynamic chemistry together along with Johns guitar playing it really generates the sound they have in every albulm. They wouldn't be great in any other band but this one. Face they were made for each other.
This is hard to see anyone looking this bad because of drugs, it does'nt matter if he is john frusciante, it is just sad to see any one who lives a sad life addicted to drugs
His house was a mess, his hair was a mess, his voice was wrecked, but somehow John was clean shaven???
thinking about it, it is kinda funny haha.
Cool guys don't look at explosions the voice is just like that because the heroin cocaina and weed the haird is just dirty and i think he dont like much the bears in this point

This reminds me of Layne Staley. I am glad that John survived this phase... Layne, Scott, you will always be remembered..
Ilustrado Layne Staley is the best vocalist from the 90s! (maybe more than John)
***** That's also my opinion (cause everyone has their own preferences in music and people). But I think we are on the same page: Layne Staley's voice is very special and influential to say the least. He's my favorite grunge singer of all time, and so with other 90s kid.. I was thinking the same. I wish he would still be alive somehow like John did. Both so talented. He really had the best voice of the 90's.
And now Chris Cornell...rip💖💖💖
I’m still devastated about Scott Weiland. That last album with his solo group was so awesome.
Is John a transformer? He has literally had three different faces...
yep the young, this fruciante and the fruciante from the present the drug destroy him
hayizmehs here he actually does look like a lot of his younger self, it's visible that it's the same person
he reborn
CatarinaMart younger energy his nose not broke still had teeth plus no facial surgery so we are lucky to have this moving photograph it comforts me became that year was the last of a certain innocence I try to recreate in my own music
The drugs destroyed him. His current face is from dental implants
The fact John is still alive is a miracle. Gives me chills when I see these interviews
he looks so fucked up, thanks for not dying john!
hold me closer tony danza
Lol
I was happy right on stage, when i was looking at Flea, or Chad, or ... My amp.....
thought he was gonna say anthony LOL
He hated Anthony and Anthony hated him.
Marilyn Manson Anthony loves him, but he wore him down and John probably didn’t like him
Anthony said on his book that they where like brother. But, it's a fact that john was very sensible and AK was a mf at the time. John started bwing resentful towards AK and then left the band when they where touring on Japan in january 92.
hahaha, john: "i was happy looking at flea, chad, my amp, all the shapes and colors that were around me except anthony."
Ive come to realize it was flea who he deep down couldn’t accept it was not AK i read scar tissue and John and Ak we’re closer and flea was jealous and he instigated fights to separate them
He didnt say he'll be happy seeing anthony on stage lol
I hear it was because Anthony was tough on him for being on drugs given Hillel and himself have both been there before.
+Jamie Wang and because Anthony was sorta messing with him, Anthony thought he was just being a bro but slowly John grew to kinda hate Anthony in a way
Jamie Wang they we're both using at the same time
Charlie Browm no they were not only john was using .

Even fucked-up and out of his mind, he still maintains composure during the interview. Surprisingly well-spoken.
props to the interviewer, he wasn't a jerk and didn't push john to answer questions he didn't want to talk about
I've never heard john sing as well as he did at the start of this clip. It definitely raised my eyebrows.
i really think that some stuff hes telling in this interview is absoluetly brilliant and only can come from a real clear mind, no matter if hes using drugs or not his mind really seems clear and brilliant
ahhh thanks so much. john's vocals are amzinnngggg

JOHN ANTHONY FRUSCIANTE

Wow, that Tiny Dancer performance was amazing. I didn't realize he has such a range..
I think he just looks like Cillian Murphy in "Dark Knight Rises" lol
He makes easily the most beautiful music of our time...
John is an inspiration to so many people.
John reminds me like a more modern Syd Barrett. Especially during his dark days.
Ver esta entrevista en momentos difíciles es como una terapia para mi me hace sentir menos ansioso creo que se debe al saber que hay alguien más como Frusciante que pasó las mismas cosas y hasta más duras que yo e pasado
Irrespective of what people think about his addiction, this is what makes (amongst other things) the man John is today, the John we love.
when you hear him say he was happy when watching the sounds waves bouncing around you know hes special how jimi was in the he could see and feel sound with a different sense than a normal person
3:21 even at one of his lowest points he still didn't want to bring anyone down. wow
John Frusciante is a fallen angel
john saw this period of his life as a rebirth, in a very positive way, and i love him for that. this right here is the most real person that has ever lived. dont do drugs.
im so glad john is ahead of this... it made him the amazing player he is now....
Love that he talks so much about dimensions and stuff
It's like Hendrix playing an Elton John composition at the beginning, man. John's voice completes it, though.
Broken bones thanks for uploading this bro. I appreciate this. I actually have a video I want on UA-cam myself but I dont know how because its like 1 hour and 45 minutes long. How me out bro, Thanks.

is the unplugged boat session available somewhere else? i would kill to see the full performance
Lmao, I laughed at the end where John like, serenades Anthony with the Rolling Stones song, haha
And the part about Anthony, hmm.. hard to say, his lyrics are very well thought about. Maybe he puts just as much time, effort and life in them, as John puts in guitar playing.

very sad
what was that song at the start of the video when they are on stage its really good
it brakes my heart to watch this

10 years on opiates and H for me. I'm on Suboxone/ Naloxone. Finally I'm feeling better. But it's not easy. I feel you. Good luck mate! 🙏💛
3:39 Makes me forget all my troubles for a while. I'd be so happy if there's a longer version of this
This is the longest version I've seen so far
im glad when john said 'i COULD insult some people...' the interview said 'nah you dont need to' or whatever.
he COULD have been a douche and said 'yeah insult them' and that may have like.. cut ties with anthony and chad all together. that would have been bad...
i like how the interviewer cares about john there and isn't totally in it just for the views...
It would have been really interesting talking to John when he was at this stage in life.
thank god hes still alive n won his battle with drugs he has so much talent
thank u, your awesome
i love this song and his hair - never seen it like that before
0:44 will ferrell was so young back then
what's the song john sings at the start of the video? thanks.
oh…my….god. 2:35 - 3:05 is EXACTLY how i felt about being with my ex. RHCP FOR LIFE!!
Hey, this song were performed in 1997 in Viper Room, it's the first part of "Unknown" song that John sang on Vpro 94 ("helen around you has nothing to do with those snakes and fakes they think we give to them .." or something like this). If you need it I can send you this song, just pm me.
I am so happy hes better now :)
I love the song at start and john looks so healthy there...;(
How is he so clean shaven
That's a good question. Everything else is shambles--house is a pit, greasy hair, unshowered, spun out....yet he shaves everyday.
I agree. I was thinking maybe it's some kind of a ritual/habit (like brushing your teeth every morning).
He was still quite young. Even before the drugs he never really grew facial hair, might just be his Italian side.
he had facial hair as seen through the funky monks film that documented the making of bssm.
My guess. Heroin makes you itchy as fuck. Some people find beards to be itchy. 1+1= he probably scratched his face raw and said fuck that I'm gonna shave everyday.
Or he shaved for the interview.

he founded the beauty and the darkness
you can tell it just looking into his eyes
open wide
like his feeling god and devil shaking hands.
Perhaps a break, wrong editing...
Maybe there was a commercial break in the original broadcast.
This video makes me so sad, that he was in such a dark place like this.
he looks like death here. Glad he and Anthony came out of the darkness... We are blessed
thank you
what song's at the bigginin''
is that song from john?? which album???
Wow, John looks like Jeff Goldblum when he first starts to change into the fly
Uploaded on my birthday ^^
Congratulations
aaaaaaaaaah.....the 90's.....was born in them, never experienced them firsthand
What song is john singing on stage at the very beginning?
he was about 24, 25 years old in this video, and this shows what drugs can do to the human body and mind. It's also a warning to stay away from it.
Whats the name of the song on 7:05 ?
haha i love the little "anthony" version of angie at the end
Respond to this video...
How did this get on youtube? This would distroy me being out in the world for everyone to see
What is the song he sings at the beginning?
oh man he looked so rough back then....so glad he's off all that shit , coz if drugs coz the better of him the world would have lost an awesome artist
Thanks goodness he put himself back together.
What song is at the beginning?
@neoconker2 i allready had found it, and you are right. the video is for the pinkpop festival, 1990, thanks though dude!
@LightningKr3w well thank you very much. Such a catchy riff...
4:33 - 5:33 repeats itself perfectly.
Almost like a dream...
Dm
holy shit xD i cant even regonize him... he changed so much later in life lol wow .... speachless
@NUKEM16 where from?
Who is the drummer at the beginning?
and
What song is John playing at 6:58?
he kinda looked like richard ramirez when he was in his bad drug phase.
What's the song called and where can I download it?
whats the song at the start???
does somebody know the name of the song of the starting?
wow this is painful to see him like this...He is a completely different person now.

I thought that too. My friend insisted it wasnt.
Thanks
ive heard about him during these years but never seen him while he was on the drugs...
well i can say is HOLY SHIT
what song is this in the begining? 0:00
frusciante is a living legend! ;-)
what is the name of the first song?
@DoubleIvan Thanks, man.
It's a cover of Elton John's "Tiny Dancer".
Not on any of his albums AFAIK, could be wrong though.
3:40 - 3:53 What is that song ?
This is hard to see anyone looking this bad because of drugs, it does'nt matter if he is john frusciante, it is just sad to see any one who lives a sad life addicted to drugs
wat year was this interview?
