  • Castle & Key Distillery is in Millville, KY. It is part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour. The grounds and buildings have been brought back to life. You can take a relaxing walk on the Botanical Trail or check out Glenn’s Creek.
Informative tours are available that end with samples of craft spirits. Taylorton Station provides walk-up bars onsite with delicious cocktails or flights.
We discuss the history of the distillery and Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr.
On the tour we learn about how they make their spirits, visit the garden, and walk the grounds.

We went to Castle and Key in October 22, I must say this is a good video but honestly nothing is like standing there. The place is gorgeous and a quality bourbon and cigar in the sitting area was top notch. Who ever thought prohibition was a good idea? Surely not me.

Thanks. Col. Taylor really knew what he was doing, and set up the grounds perfectly. Very relaxing. You can really feel the history in the buildings as well.

My only issue with this distillery was that it was not pet friendly at all. I had been to 6 previous distilleries and they were more than accommodating. Having to turn back after a bit of a drive was not enjoyable. Will I go back without my Maltese? I don't know. I will go back to Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey, Woodford Reserve, and Willet though. They have well rated bourbons. I've yet to try Castle and Key bourbon as their reviews aren't to elevated. Nice history.

Thank you for the comment. That is good information that people should know, and should be helpful to others. More businesses should add those details to their websites.
