When I saw Mariah live in 2019 for the first time ever I was all over the place I was in disbelief that I was actually hearing more or less seeing her live. I literally cried four songs and she hit every freaking high note from the 90s up until 2019 when she performed And there was no lip singing at all. It was just natural Mariah Carey. There wasn’t a person sitting in their seats everyone was standing up from the front middle back and balcony. Everybody was up on their feet, singing and dancing, and when she hit those notes, it was like heaven

In fact it’s so good it beats out pretty much every other daydream era vision of love performance!! It’s arguably THE best vision of love performance of all time, the vocals are literally mind blowing.
I love your commentary! She definitely wanted to improvise some more, so when the drummer came in early she was caught off guard. Some of the Lambily may not like this, but as much as I think Charmbracelet was incredible for her vocally, it is not part of Mariah's prime. From 2000-2003 Mariah's belting ease returned, and her chords became much less inflamed, but for some reason she lost some of the precision in her riffs and runs. She regained her brightness in the upper belts, although with a slightly diminished range, and she no longer would use vibrato in her mid belts very often.
I agree. Charm is one of my favorites, it's amazing how her voice regained clarity during Glitter and Charm after the tired-sounding Rainbow era. But it's not the second coming of 90-96Riah. TEOM was a second prime, but in an artistic and commercial sense (even though Charmbracelet also deserved)
@@NIPPYxMIMITEOM is all strained raspy vocals it’s just artistically incredible. Charmbracelet is full of power vocals at least for THRU THE RAIN and MY SAVING GRACE…no rasp, no straining to push high notes
