Daily cases have been above 40,000 for seven days in a row, with 43,738 new COVID cases reported on Tuesday and 223 deaths.

How can "stepping up the vaccination in the old and the young" be "the way to stop the surge in infection" when it's well documented that the vaccination neither stops people from catching the virus or spreading it?
Also, "37 in every 100,000" is 0.037%.
0.037% of 43,738 is 16.2 people who have been hospitalised.
This isn't news. I wonder how many other causes have managed to put more than 16 UK residents in hospital over the last 24 hours? Probably plenty.

I had to listen to that again when he said "37 out of 100,000". It's horrible for those people who have been hospitalised but it's not a worrying number of people by any means. I'd be willing to bet that all 37 have been at least double jabbed too. It's crazy what has been carried out!

Unvaccinated people are at greater risk of severe infection and passing the virus on, and since covid mutates quickly this means that as many people as possible will need to get the vaccine so the vaccine stays effective.

He was quite clear that when the government and the press were telling the public that 100,000 people had died from covid, his actual data showed that the real number was closer to 600.

Im so done with this. We have had 18 months of lockdown which has consequently caused a lot of people with mental health issues and vulnerable people suffer, we all missed celebrating 2 lots of birthdays with loved ones, ruined Christmas last year, we have been jabbed so what is the big deal if the cases go up??? The hospitals are not overloaded with admissions. If we have all been jabbed what is the effin problem??? Get on with life as normal….I’m sick of hearing of cases rising?

Case numbers meaningless - most cases are in the young (who recover without hospital treatment) or unvaccinated. The figures that matter are hospitalisations and and death rates from covid (not with it), these are still low, approx 900 hospital admissions a day, and 7k in hospital at any one time. Bear in mind there are 165k hospital beds so I fail to see how the NHS is under strain because of Covid...
The fact they want to shut down the economy for this level of hospitalisations shows that the NHS simply isn’t fit for purpose. Every winter it’s ‘on its knees’

The very marginal increase in their hospital admission rates is probably absolutely typical as we move into Autumn. If it's not typical why not show us the pre covid comparison - it would be far more compelling?
I've had 2 doses of the vaccine, zero side effects (so far) but the misinformation and omissions mean that rather than confidence growing I'm becoming more sceptical, almost, by the day.
I had covid in December, I’ve had worse colds! I decided to hold off from having the vaccine to see how things play out. I’ve now decided not to have it. What’s the point of taking it if we still gotta wear masks and social distance and possibly locked down again? All the media hysteria this week makes me believe they have no confidence in the vaccine.

While he should have been introducing Track and Trace, he was still missing all the COBRA meetings about Covid to go on holiday, or meet his girlfriend's parents, or hold Tory fundraising parties. By "booster" he meant a third vaccination. This means that the currently available vaccines lose their effectiveness. There is a study made in Israel which shows that even if 98% of the oldest were vaccinated twice, they represented over 50% of the emergency cases in the hospitals. This study concluded that the currently available vaccines lose their effectiveness after 6 months and we need to keep vaccinating every 6 months...

They were both rates per 100,000 population, but they did randomly change the age brackets (kekw), so for 80/85+ it was about 100-120 per 100k infected, and 35-40 per 100k hospitalised => about 1 in every 3 infections gets hospitalised. for 10/15/19 whatever young age group it was 1100 per 100k infected, but 2-3 per 100k hospitalised, so 1 in every 4-500 cases gets hospitalised.

Back in the spring, the rest of Western Europe was doing worse; France was having 70k cases per day and hospitals in Paris were struggling, yet our cases/deaths were at an all-time low. We’re 9th in Europe for cases per pop and 17th for deaths per pop. Our testing rates are the highest in Europe after Denmark, Austria and a few tiny countries. Also, our vaccine rollout started much sooner and immunity is now waning, the rest of Europe will likely follow in the next few months.

The way to stop the rise in pressure on the NHS is to get 80% of the population educated on Health and exercise and put them on a regimented routine. Our bodies were made to thrive and anything not created in nature is toxic to the body. Fighting toxic with toxic is probably not the best way to go.
Turning off the whole populations immune system by 50% seems to be a much faster way to reduce the use of NHS . . .
