If you’d like to see a masterclass on vocals from Pakistan, I’d highly recommend “Chaap Tilak” by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Abida Parveen or “Rang” by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Amjad Sabri - both by the same Coke Studio production as this reaction song. A) He's singing the word "darr" which means fear in Urdu. It's not a technique, just a word.

This instrument is called Harmonium and it's also used by a American Band called Fleet Foxes led by the legendary songwriter Robin Pecknold. Check their song Helplessness Blues live.
You noticed the nuances like no other vocal coaches here on youtube. This breakdown was amazing to watch. I would Recommend most of the coke studio sessoins: Afreen Afreen, Rang, Chap Tilak. Try Bol Hu from Nescafe Basement Sessions aswell. There's a little surprise in it surely to blow your mind. Once again, thank you for this reaction.

concerning your comment on the nice arrangement between the guitar, the bass and the rabab in the prelude of this song, the tempo and the harmony itself are the exact musical expression of a "faith march", the "pilgrimage" to the holy sanctuary the singer is calling his fellow to do. We can easily feel the love, the serenity and the insurance of that march.
That was a stellar reaction and overall breakdown of the singling and performance.

11:11 this is very common in non occidental singing. For example, in arabic singing you often hear people singing multiple notes on a double or even single consonnant. This includes trills, melismas etc. (e.g letters L N R Y W M... you can't do that with letters such as K because it requires cutting air flow).

Darr is an Urdu language word it's meaning is fear . in this verse poet is saying he is having a fear of lightening Bolt .

Tajdar e Haram means King of Mecca/Madina (islamic holiest cities) i.e Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Its a religious song, sung in Qawalli style of singing which is mostly related to Sufi/Spiritual music in Indian Subcontinent where it is performed together with choir. Atif has transitioned alot during last 17 years, from a pop star to sufism influenced singing. Check out some of his performances like Wohi Khuda ha, Charkha, Man aamadeh am, Jal pari, Aadat original (17 years old, his first song which made him a star over night), yaqeen etc
