If you find yourself saying, "If [insert +35-year-old superstar] can stay healthy for the rest of the season...", your team is probably cooked. Warriors, Lakers, and Suns are committing elder abuse by relying on these guys. Imagine the 2012 Heat asking Ray Allen to be their first option.
ray allen never been on any of these guys level. Lebron at 35 was easy first option on a contender. At 40 not so much. KD and steph can still be first options but in steph's case, he has no help that roster is all mid role players. Kuminga was looking decent but now injured extended time so gg. Suns have a beal problem, but that was obvious before they got him so its kinda on front office.
Big difference is the Lakers and Warriors have assets to improve around their stars. The Suns have nothing. They barely had anything after the KD trade and after the Beal trade they literally have nothing. So this is it.
@@Nuvendilnot really the Lakers have picks but nothing is gonna make them a championship contender and now they're just hoping that AD can return to how he was playing at the start of the season, the warriors also don't really have a way to go all in either cus of the way contracts were done. I’ve been saying it since they got together. Big threes don’t work anymore. Especially now because of the aprons. You’re better off with two stars and good role players that fit next to the stars. Teams that continue to swing for that third star continue to crash, burn and come up short
@ he’s been the main one lately. Him and the lakers😭 the lakers were so worried about that third star that they let their entire championship roster go. Then the crash and burn happened.
@ have you seen them work lately? It’s too hard to try to get them to work. And even if they do fit, you better hope they stay healthy because if one or two of them go down you can’t build the team around them to survive that with the aprons. It makes teams too reliant on those players instead of being able to rely on the TEAM.
@@yeehawidv4618 the suns looked and fit better before they traded for Beal, and before they traded for KD honestly. You know when they built their team the right way. As soon as they tried to buy their championship what happened??
I genuinely think that some teams are meant to just be bad. Minnesota, Phoenix, Clippers, Sacramento. Some kind of cosmic force is hell bent on forcing them to forever be bummy poverty franchises that won’t win anything for as long as they exist
Your biggest mistake was thinking that Mike Budenholzer was a culture changer on offense. I still remember Middleton and Eric Bledsoe ISO-ing the Bucks out of the playoffs year after year.
Wolves is a cheap team and didn't want to pay Kat. They got to the Conference Finals, it was a successful season for them, they didn't want to pay Kat. That was on the GMs lol.
Kenny I looked back on your predictions as well and I'll be honest, you hold to much stock in the old guard. The league is shifting and you can predict teams led by guys in their mid-30s.
Personally i think it has more to do with the collapse of defense in the nba and the over-reliance on 3s. Big 3s dont really work anymore, but a few teams rely on big 3s and big 2s to make it to the top, but that formula is dying. JT and JB on the Celtics are great players, but they're not top 3 in the NBA each. However, they have a huge supporting cast and that cast can defend well enough to compete, and they can shoot. All the old guys are part of teams that aren't well built around them, and they're too old to defend well.
@@mattbobjim911JB and JT are good defenders. The majority of the team are great defenders and good enough at the least attackers. Thats why they are so scary.
Durant simply doesn’t play a style that can carry the full load of a poor roster. Jokic and LeBron are both ELITE ball distributors and playmakers. They have an internal feel for how to get good shots for mediocre players. Durant is a very good passer for 7’ and has outstanding gravity, but he doesn’t create offense for others when it isn’t there. They NEED a true PG. Booker plays the position but he’s a SG deep down.
This shows how important CP3 was to that team, heck even as old as he is now the spurs look like an actual basketball team compared to last year thanks to his IQ and ability to set his teammates to get comfortable shots.
lol they signed Tyus Jones who had the best AST/TO ratio last season. Hes also the starting PG. I agree with what your saying but get your facts straight
Not true. They just build poorly around him. Every star has deficiencies. Steph is a shooter so the franchise made up for his lack of passing with draymond / schemes. Jokic doesn’t play defense, bron needs shooters etc
This was the narrative last season, catch up. They got as true of a point guard that still exists this year, Tyus Jones. They're worse. Because true point guards that aren't all stars aren't useful as starters.
Bradley Beal was a terrible trade. They could have traded for a 2 way player or traded for multiple role players to fit around KD and D Book. It would have been a bad trade for Bradley Beal without the trade clause. It’s a terrible trade considering they knew he had a no trade clause.
