It looks as though much of that wobble was in your crossbars, you can see quite a bit of the flex if you focus on the round tubing. I bet it would be much stiffer if it were mounted in between your rack feet.
The wobble in in the rack not the bars. They shift a little but I've seen this for years on multiple vehicles. This type just wobbles. I've actually asked Yakima about it and they said it's normal.
