This is how I want my hair to look. I too don't like the full relaxed look. My 4c hair is beautiful but it's so much work and the styles I try only last a day and require so much heat. I might consider this in a year or so
Yeah I understand how you feel! Natural hair is so beautiful but it can be a lot of work so I just think it's best to enjoy your hair... even if it means manipulating it a bit. At the end of the day it's yours to play with, so do you girl ❤️
I absolutely love that your mother did this for you... not everyone will love every strand on your head like you and momma!!! Peace and blessings 2 you both 🙏🏽💯💛
Wow so beautiful. I just texlaxed 1 month ago. It really gives my 4c hair options. I am going to wait 6 months like you mentioned to touch it up. Thanks for the tip. Looking very healthy too.
Beautiful hair. Remember to oil the already processed. hair & ends ,to prevent run-off water relaxing. It's a thing. No need to reprocess. the run off water relaxes some as well.
Hi, thanks so much :) To answer your questions, no I don't dilute the relaxer - I know some people add conditioner to weaken it but I've haven't tried that method yet. Also, I rinse out my relaxer almost immediately after application - The relaxer application takes about 10-13 mins, so the most I would sit for after this time is like 3-5 mins. I hope this is helpful
Your hair is GORGEOUS!!! Girl, how do you manage no consequences of breakage? If I applied the relaxer to all of my hair, I’d be BALD!! Maybe, it’s because you reapply every six months.
Your hair looks cute and still a lot of texture left I would do this. The difference is you didn't use a comb to make it straight? You just left it in how long after it was applied? I know the process takes 10-15 minutes to apply but how long did you leave it in before you washed it out?
Kisha Rivers Thanks so much! I wash the relaxer out right after application so it doesn’t over process. As you can see in the video we went over each section more than once, so in that time it processes enough (for the way I like my hair). I hope this helps ☺️ & please subscribe for more hair videos. I’m open to suggestions too
I have a question. So back in December i texturied my whole head and it went well. Now last month i texturized just my roots and edges and nothing went wrong but i didnt leave it long enough as i should have. My question is if i wanna retexturize my whole head will i be able to do that again? So it wont just be roots and edges
You can definitely texturize your whole head again but you have to be a lot more careful because it has already been processed. I would start by applying the relaxer on my roots & new growth, and only apply it to the rest of my hair last so it processes the least
I've been texlaxing every 6 months since 2016 - so about 4 years now. It hasn't affected my rate of hair growth in any way... I just have to be more careful when handling my hair the further away I am from a texlax, in order to manage the different textures as my hair grows out. I hope this is helpful 😌
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video! I’m also considering texlaxing my hair, but would like to keep it thick. Is texlaxing and texturizing the same thing? Also, I noticed that your mother didn’t smooth the relaxer on your ends, is that correct? Your hair is very beautiful. Looking forward to see more of your hair updates 💕.
PARIS G Aww thank you so much💕 I really appreciate it! Yes, texlaxing and texturising is the same thing, I think people just alternate between the two lol. Also, you’re right - my mum doesn’t smooth the relaxer to the ends because they’ve been processed the most. Focusing too much on it will weaken the hair further which isn’t ideal. For the application, the roots are the most important part to focus on... she only drags it down for a seamless result & also because my hair slightly reverts after some time so it’s just to ensure that the texture is consistent. I’ll definitely be uploading more updates soon so please subscribe to stay in the loop ☺️ I just have braids at the moment but once they’re off I’ll be back with lots more hair content
No I don't, I just detangle my hair and comb it out of any style it was in prior. When I do this, my hair is pretty stretched so it kinds looks as if its been freshly blow-dried.
My hair in its natural state is type 4 but it still varies across my whole head - 4c being the most predominant. I just wanted to show the results I get from texlaxing, that can be achieved by other ladies with kinky/curly hair
Thanks so much for subscribing! 💕 I've been growing my texlaxed hair since 2014, but there have been quite a few ups and downs actually. Thanks for the video recommendation also, I'll definitely be doing a sit down chat about my hair journey soon because of you ☺️ Hope you stay tuned
I’m planning on texturizing my hair soon! But I’m a bit worried that my hair isn’t gonna be as thick as it is once I put the chemical on it. Do you have a video on how to maintain healthy hair while texlaxed?
li beige hey girl, I know how you feel! Before I first texturised my hair I was really hesitant too... I think it’s really important to not use too much of the relaxer, and keep an eye on processing time so that your hair doesn’t become straight. I don’t have a video about maintenance yet but it’s on my agenda so I’ll be doing one very soon ☺️ I hope you subscribe that way you’ll see when I post it. In the mean time you can dm me on Instagram (@ always.agyeiwaa) if you’ve got any questions
Kamiah Giles thank you ☺️ I’ve seen some people’s hair revert back to their natural texture after texlaxing - in that case I’d say they’re still natural. For me, my results are permanent so only my new growth grows back natural - so if I want to be 100% natural I’d have to transition or big chop
I don't leave it to sit in my hair after application... once I'm done with each section I wash it out immediately. From when I start applying the relaxer to when I wash is about 13-15 mins max. Hope this is helpful 😊
girl I’m thinking on going to 3A from 4C. I’m tired of it. Too nappy. It’s so ugly. I want loose curly hair so bad. I just don’t know where to start. I’m just so tired having 4c hair. It’s too tough 😭
I'm not here to promote self hate - all hair types are beautiful. I understand texturising your hair for manageability and versatility but I don't think it adds or subtracts from anyone's beauty. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion...
@@blackmermaid1 Your name is black women matter too, but you have the nerve to throw out your hate of 4c hair which a lot of black women have, shame on you.
Dead skin cells oil and salt from sweat. Its washed with the braids in though and usually you use a braid spray with teatree oil to dissolve whatever is stuck and wont come out in the wash. There is residue but with proper maintenance hair should smell and look clean until you take it down and thats when you would remove what couldnt be removed. This is the case with all weaves and braids. Also this happens in dreds too but there are some dreded people that have a routine that removes this stuff from the center of the dred. Idk how
I personally haven't experienced excessive breakage because of relaxers but everyone's hair is different. I would say just do your research on the brand, type, and strength that would be best for you and go to a professional to get it done if it's your first time 😊

Its in her genes..mainly.
For first time do I need extra strength?
I don't think so, I've always used "normal"
How long did you leave it?
Do you blow-dry your hair before texturing it?

What makes you think your hair is 4c though?
Why does it matter? I think you're missing the point.Typecasting won't help you get anywhere..it varies from person to person. In 4c has variations🙄
