Those guys deserved better offenses to work with, they deserved to win. Of course that's been a 30 year running theme, the greats who deserved better than what the Jones ownership has given them.
As an Asian American that grew up loving football, Dat Nguyen was one of my heros. First Vietnamese player to make it in the NFL, and was one of the top Linebackers in the NFL during his short career.
I had the privilege of playing against Dat in college. He was a phenomenal LB and was maybe the most frustrating opponent I can recall. It was difficult to even get a hand on him. He would duck under, run around and literally jump over blockers. He was one of a kind.
Love Dat Nguyen. I am a Vietnamese refugee like Dat who grew up in Texas. It was awesome to see Dat played for the Cowboys. Even Parcells said he was a heck of a linebacker even though Parcells did not want him in that roll due to his size. For him to played 7 years in the league is AMAZING.
Growing up as a Vietnamese boy in America in the 90s I felt so out of place but when I saw dat play at a&m, it gave me the belief that I too could play high school football. Me and my brothers idolized his game and toughness.
As a COWBOYS fan since 1977, I had respect and admiration for Dat Nguyen! The man had so much athletic ability, speed, strength, intensity, and tenacity! What a hitter! He was definitely one of the best linebackers in the history of our franchise. That says a lot! It's a shame that the NFL is soft today and that Nguyen would be considered a villain. Big props for shining a spotlight on this forgotten hero.
Dat, was a smart, heat seeking, guided missile who hunted down his target bringing their attempt to violate cowboys territory to a painful quick end. I wish he would've been given much more recognition than he's received. Thank you LC for beginning to correct this oversight. As usual you have the best content on the cowboys I've seen. God bless you and stay well my brother! 🙏

In my 2nd year in the US, I saw the Cowboys, for the very 1st time, in the NFC championship game loss to the Redskins. I understood very very little English, but there was something cool and special about the star helmet, navy blue jersey, gray/silver pants and the Butch Johnson six shooter td celebration at RFK stadium’s grass field that made me a Cowboys fan for life. As a long time fan, I’m going to really enjoy this series! Thank you 🙏🏼
Great effort player. I'm glad his other old team lost last night though. ; ) 🤘 The 2003 Cowboys defense ranked #1 in yards, #2 in scoring. I'm glad you showed the historical context. A lot of people aren't aware of the plight of the Indochina boat people fleeing the horrors of the communist takeover in Vietnam and Cambodia. True refugees. Hundreds of thousands of them died in the attempt. To go from that to making millions as a pro football player is an amazing success story. Thanks for another awesome video!
