This guy should have more subscribers. You can tell he knows he’s way around a dirtbike. Love the pov camera shot. Looking forward to seeing more on this bike
These are the best builds.... Takes balls to restore the rusty bikes people don't want. I'm doing a 89 yz250 engine looks same as yours. Soak it up WD-40 and trans fluid and diesel mix. God bless mate from Australia 🦘🦘
When i saw the bike my first thought was scrap that, then you mentioned the nostalgia part, lets get it done, i rebuilt a 94 from top to bottom. Can’t wait to see what route you take on certain thing🤘
for $500 though not bad honestly, I would check the vin as 1991 I didn't think the rear end lifted up like that? Thought it was solid frame up until mid 90's? Cleaning it up and parting it out would yield more than $500 so I think it was worth 500 imo (I think I have 500 cash sitting in my wallet I never use lol)
Definitely a 91 I did check and matched the engine # they had sub after 89 I think, and definitely worth the 500. In the end it will be sweet and a good way to show how to come up with unobtainium parts
It will definitely be needing a complete teardown rebuild the shocks probably even the rims. They might not be bad though that engines need a lot of work though all new bearings, including the crank everything is there though and really that’s what matters is if mostly everything is there and that what really matters is the sentimental value, brother
Hey John. Just wanted to say hey to you and your wife. We met you guys up on lido on the pride and burned a few smokes. Hope this gets to you cause I’m not great on a phone. Watching a clip right now. Interesting!!
I can see this bike being completely redone with the frame blue green plastic with blue and white badging white renthal bars and blue rims I love these bikes

Thanks man, I might have a good surprise in store on this one, we’ll see
I just rebuilt one of these, looked about the same as yours when I got it. Been a process but she’s almost done.

It should probably be scrap, but let’s save something nobody wants and give it a new life
Not the best for restoration, you almost buy everything for the bike 😂
Almost…
I just got a 96 125 yesterday for free but its missing the jug
Link listed in your other comment
$500 and a second engine it's not a price for how old the bike is it still has paint were its usually rubbed off original bolts aren't rusty
It seems like the original owner took pretty good care of it and the guy I got it from bought it as a project, what happened between is a mystery.
@@BrokeMX honestly bro i think you got a good deal, im going off to pick up spear engine parts for my 06 tm300 for the 500

Glad you were able to get on.
Thank you
Had a great time on the cruise
Wow that is rough. It's going to be a rusty mess inside.
How can people let these things get so bad?
Life happens sometimes…
Worse than you can imagine 🤷♂️
I think the handle bars might be the only thing not replaced or rebuilt as long as you don’t count the clutch, brake or kill switch and bar pad lol
i have restored much worse. at least its a 250
I know it could be worse, there are some good surprises coming, a few anyway, and thank you
